The School endeavors to go beyond the academic excellence and developing complete personality of every student and enabling them to rise to their full stature. The School aims to provide affordable and quality education with latest modern facilities to all the sections of the society. It will give special emphasis to those students who come from deprived sections of the society. The School looks forward to take advantage of the modern information and communication technologies to accomplish its end. It shall leave no stones unturned in ensuring that all the students perform better not only in the School and Board Examination but beyond the school premises as well. It shall work rigorously towards establishing a reputation of the best School in the town which excels in the holistic development of its students. Keeping rural landscape of the School in mind, the School devises such policies which could help uplift the children of the society by way of providing quality education for all. As the School is situated in a predominantly weaving community, the School takes it as its primary responsibility to provide quality education in a very nominal fee structure to the weaving community of the area. It will give special attention to girl students coming from such background. The School will strive to add to its existing teaching learning process by way of introducing audio visual equipments for its students in the coming academic session. It will inculcate among its students the passion of reading and learning. As ours is the only School in the locality which is affiliated to C.B.S.E., it shall strive to impart quality education by not only following curriculum of the board and other guidelines by the government but also going beyond the very traditional and conventional system of imparting education. It will instill among its students not only a sense of respect towards their elders and society but a sense of responsible citizenship as well. Although the School is very green in terms of plants and environment friendly but it will increase its existing fleet of plants. The School will increase its plantation drive by keeping a target of 100 plantations every year. The School will take various measures to make its students much more aware about the environment and create a sense of responsibility towards sustainable environment. In the near future, the School is planning to spread social awareness program in the nearby locality through Social Awareness Club being initiated by various state machineries. It aims to make people aware about their rights, duties as citizens of the country and eradicating social evils such as dowry, superstitious activities by way of working in cooperation with the community members of the society. The School intends to improve the existing facility to its teaching staff and senior students so that they can learn and go beyond the class room teaching and incorporate those things which are necessary in order to have a 5 comprehensive understanding about the subject. In the current academic session, the School shall improve and increase its staff room facilities for teaching staff with all the modern facilities. The School shall minimize manual work of its teaching staff so that they can contribute more efficiently towards discharging their teaching responsibility. The School takes disciplinary issues very seriously. It will ensure that strict discipline is maintained throughout the campus. Each and every member of the school is expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the school, failing which stern disciplinary action will be taken. Although the School has maintained a very persistent record of good discipline and conduct, it will, in the coming academic session, ensure that the number of disciplinary issues are minimized. In order to ensure and inculcate community feelings among students, the School shall try to preserve the social milieu and celebrate all the major festivals across all the religions and regions. In order to create resourcefulness and variety in the library, the School will be updating its existing collection of books by incorporating additional books on Science, Commerce, Humanities and other inspirational and thought provoking books. In addition to course work requirements, the school shall organize extra-curricular activities like essay competition, awareness drive to various social issues, discussions, etc. to develop the overall personality of the students. The School intends to build on the already existing sport facilities in the coming years. The school has court/ground for Volleyball and Badminton. The school has already started working on improving its indoor facilities. The School strictly follows the curriculum and other important guidelines being prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education from time to time. However, the School takes active interest in devising its own methodologies to impart education to its students. In order to make scholastic as well as co-scholastic activities more educative and interesting, the School uses various audio-visual technologies. The entire objective of the School is to provide positive and healthy environment to each student. The School will try to achieve its target of providing affordable and quality education for all. It will ensure that the students in the long run emerge as informed and responsible citizens of the country. The school will further work to ensure and achieve its twin objective of becoming the ground of all round growth and development of the students along with becoming an institution of creating well informed and responsible individuals which would go on to create a knowledgeable and healthy society aiding in progress of our nation as a whole. 6 VISION Vision of Central Public School, Mubarakpur is to inspire young minds to learn with devotion, act with discipline and later serve with a sense of social responsibility, tempered with good manners, aesthetic sense and pride so that students have self confidence and constructive leadership qualities. Vidyasagar University Journal of History, Volume VI, 2017-2018, Pages: 116-126 ISSN 2321-0834 Qasba Mubarakpur: Lifecycles of Weaving in Colonial United Provinces Santosh Kumar Rai This paper discusses tradition of weaving in Qasba Mubarakpur of district Azamgarh, especially noted for its compound cotton and silk tussar or pure silk cloth. History of the Mubarakpur shows the rise and fall of indigenous textile products in the colonial Indian economy in relation to the social and political processes. By early twentieth century the products of Mubarakpur changed from Sangi,Galta,Jamdani, and other cotton made products to silk sari only. There was a great change in the area as the graph of making Silk saris soared to greater heights, which received national and international fame with the active involvement of officials and traders of Banaras. The invasion of power-looms in the adjoining regions like Mau, which is gradually reducing the handloom sector in the region changed the forms of production in this region. In spite of all fluctuations a kind of association with the traditional skill and a sense of prestige associated with this continuing association to weaving occupationally and psychologically as well kept Muslim Julaha weavers struck to their traditional skills. A sense of dispossession cannot be just contextualized in the Hindu- Muslim dichotomy. Here one has to observe totality of complexities of colonial economy, including industrialization, modernization and de- industrialization of traditional skills along with changing patterns of cloth consumption and use of raw material to explain the lost opportunities. This paper discusses that how interface with external economic factors in the case of the qasba Mubarakpur situated in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, famous for its silk and cotton cloth products provided a new social context for the weaving community in early twentieth century.

  • Female Work Participation in Handloom Industry-A Case Study of Mubarakpur Town, Azamgarh District, U.P
Journal of Education & Social Policy Vol. 1 No. 1; June 2014 Female Work Participation in Handloom Industry-A Case Study of Mubarakpur Town, Azamgarh District, U.P Tasneem Shazli Prof. Abdul Munir Research Scholar and Professor Department of Geography Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, UP 202002 Abstract Manufacturing industries help to reduce poverty and unemployment in a variety of ways. The economy of a country is observed as a reflection of industrial development and work force participation. In the past, females were not treated as an integral part of the labor force; they entered the labor market after the introduction of machines. They were largely employed in those manufacturing industries which required less and semi-skilled female workers. During medieval period skilled Muslim weavers came to India along with Moguls and found Varanasi and its surrounding area’s local climate conducive to handloom production. As a result, the study area in eastern Uttar Pradesh became an important site of weaving industry. The objective of this paper is to assess the female work participation in handloom industry of Mubarakpur town. The study is based on the socio- economic conditions, derived from primary data collected through questionnaire. Results show that weaving is the major occupation of Mubarakpur town, as there is high concentration of handlooms. The major reasons which forced females to do work in handlooms are economic necessity, unemployment, poverty, low income, low literacy and education and large family size. A gradual decline of the handicraft industry in Mubarakpur town in the last few decades due to economic and political reasons has caused a setback in the condition of female weavers.

EVERYONE HAS BEEN SILENCED Police Excesses Against Anti-CAA Protesters In Uttar Pradesh, And The Post-violence Reprisal Citizens Against Hate Citizens against Hate (CAH) is a Delhi-based collective of individuals and groups committed to a democratic, secular and caring India. It is an open collective, with members drawn from a wide range of backgrounds who are concerned about the growing hold of exclusionary tendencies in society, and the weakening of rule of law and justice institutions. CAH was formed in 2017, in response to the rising trend of hate mobilisation and crimes, specifically the surge in cases of lynching and vigilante violence, to document violations, provide victim support and engage with institutions for improved justice and policy reforms. From 2018, CAH has also been working with those affected by NRC process in Assam, documenting exclusions, building local networks, and providing practical help to victims in making claims to rights. Throughout, we have also worked on other forms of violations – hate speech, sexual violence and state violence, among others in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar and beyond. Our approach to addressing the justice challenge facing particularly vulnerable communities is through research, outreach and advocacy; and to provide practical help to survivors in their struggles, also nurturing them to become agents of change. This citizens’ report on police excesses against anti-CAA protesters in Uttar Pradesh is the joint effort of a team of CAH made up of human rights experts, defenders and lawyers. Members of the research, writing and advocacy team included (in alphabetical order) Abhimanyu Suresh, Adeela Firdous, Aiman Khan, Anshu Kapoor, Devika Prasad, Fawaz Shaheen, Ghazala Jamil, Mohammad Ghufran, Guneet Ahuja, Mangla Verma, Misbah Reshi, Nidhi Suresh, Parijata Banerjee, Rehan Khan, Sajjad Hassan, Salim Ansari, Sharib Ali, Sneha Chandna, Talha Rahman and Vipul Kumar.
