This exquisite black-tie affair is an interactive Ballroom Dance Competition held at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre and features epicurean delights, phenomenal auction items and glamourous entertainment. With the overwhelming response of the first nine years, we are gathering all of our resources to ensure this year is another guaranteed sell out! All proceeds from this captivating event will go directly to support the mission of Hands Across the Bay, a 501©3 charitable organization, which allows us to help hundreds of families in the Bay Area throughout the upcoming year. We also share a portion of the funds with fellow local nonprofit organizations doing notable work in our community. Previous beneficiaries of the event include: Bikers Against Child Abuse, CASA, Clothes to Kids, The Cypress Initiative, HEROES of St. Pete Police & Fire, HUG, The Kind Mouse, Suncoast Animal League, Troop Rewards, Wheelchairs 4 Kids, A Kids Place of Tampa Bay, Pepin Heart Hospital, Pepin Academies, and many more! The event is patterned after the popular television show, Dancing with the Stars on ABC. Our exclusive partnership with Arthur Murray Dance Centers of Tampa Bay will guarantee our Celebrity Dancers will dazzle the crowd. Celebrity Dancers are local community personalities, business leaders and philanthropists who will capture the audience with grace, glitz and glamour. Each Celebrity Dancer is paired with a ballroom dance instructor and professional choreographer to create a unique routine to a song of their choice. The teams will then perform their dance routines on stage in front of six hundred of Tampa Bay’s VIP attendees. The performances are judged by national and international ballroom Competition Adjudicators combined with votes cast by the audience. The steps our dancers take on the dance floor are representative of the many steps that will be taken by Hands Across the Bay to improve the lives of many Tampa Bay residents in need. Since 1980, the National Main Street Center has been working with communities across the nation to revitalize their historic or traditional commercial areas. The Main Street program is designed to improve all aspects of the downtown. The Main Street approach has rekindled entrepreneurship, downtown cooperation and civic concern. It has earned national recognition as a practical means of utilizing and improving a community’s local resources and conditions. Because it is a locally driven program, all of what is done stems from local issues and concerns. The City of Clearwater was designated a Florida Main Street Community in August 1998. The program utilizes the Main Street four-point approach using the Joint Venture as its organizational branch. The Joint Venture is made up of a City Council (formerly Commission) appointed member, the Executive Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the Downtown Development Board (DDB) Chairperson, co-chairpersons from the Design, Economic Development and Promotion committees and the Main Street Program Coordinator.
