It is used (often alongside the Gregorian calendar) to date events in many Muslim countries. It is also used by Muslims to determine the proper days of Islamic holidays and rituals, such as the annual period of fasting and the proper time for the pilgrimage to Mecca. The Islamic calendar employs the Hijri era whose epoch was Islamic Calendar stamp issued at King retrospectively established as the Islamic New Year of AD 622. During Khaled airport (10 Rajab 1428 / 24 July that year, Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to 2007) Yathrib (now Medina) and established the first Muslim community (ummah), an event commemorated as the Hijra. In the West, dates in this era are usually denoted AH (Latin: Anno Hegirae, "in the year of the Hijra") in parallel with the Christian (AD) and Jewish eras (AM). The Milesian calendar in short Quick description The Milesian calendar is a solar calendar, with weighted months, in phase with seasons. It enables you to understand and take control of the Earth’s time. The next picture represents the Milesian calendar with the mean solstices and equinoxes. Leap days The leap day is the last day of the year, it is 31 12m or 12m 31 (whether you use British or American English). This day comes just before a leap year. Years The Milesian years are numbered as the Gregorian ones. However, they begin 10 or 11 days earlier. 1 Firstem Y (1 1m Y) corresponds to 21 December Y-1 when Y is a common year, like 2019. But it falls on 22 December Y-1 when Y is a leap year like 2020. The mapping between Milesian and Gregorian dates is shifted by one for 71 days during “leap winters”, i.e. from 31 Twelfthem to 9 Thirdem. 10 Thirdem always falls on 1 March, and each following Milesian date always falls on a same Gregorian date. Gangale_2000 THE MARTIAN TIME POLL: ONE MARTIAN YEAR OF DATA Thomas Gangale* And Marilyn Dudley-Rowley** ABSTRACT The design of a Martian timekeeping system must be as much a social construct as an astronomical one if it is to gain wide acceptance within the Martian community. Not only must such a system accurately mark the passage of the Martian diurnal and annual cycles; it must also incorporate features that satisfy human social needs. What kind of a clock and calendar do Martians want? The Martian Time Web Site began conducting an online poll in September 1998. The Martian Time Poll consists of 25 questions on the basic elements of Martian timekeeping. The results of the first Martian year of data are reported and discussed. KEYWORDS: timekeeping, Mars calendars, Mars clocks, measurement as social construct. 1. INTRODUCTION As we humans establish ourselves as a multiplanetary species, spreading throughout the Solar System during this new century, we will leave behind the 24-hour day and the 365-day year. These are cycles that are peculiar to Earth, and as a product of billions of years of evolution on this planet, we are designed to operate by them. Humans will have no use for diurnal periods that are hundreds of hours long. Similarly, years of 12 or 29 times the duration of the terrestrial year (the orbital periods of Jupiter and Saturn, respectively) will be of no practical use in human affairs. We define a standard unit, the second, in as abstract a way as possible for the physical sciences, but time is a social measurement, first and foremost. -

Different starting points: • Sunrise, • Noon, • Sunset, • Midnight tied to the Sun’s motion. Universal Time uses midnight as the starting point of a day. Length: sunrise to sunrise, sunset to sunset? Day Noon to noon – The seasonal motion of the Sun changes its rise and set times, so sunrise to sunrise would be a variable measure. Noon to noon is far more constant. Noon: time of the Sun’s transit of the meridian Stellarium View and measure a day Day Aday is caused by Earth’s motion: spinning on an axis and orbiting around the Sun. Earth’s spin is very regular (daily variations on the order of a few milliseconds, due to internal rearrangement of Earth’s mass and external gravitational forces primarily from the Moon and Sun). Synodic Day Noon to noon = synodic or solar day (point 1 to 3). This is not the time for one complete spin of Earth (1 to 2). Because Earth also orbits at the same time as it is spinning, it takes a little extra time for the Sun to come back to noon after one complete spin. Because the orbit is elliptical, when Earth is closest to the Sun it is moving faster, and it takes longer to bring the Sun back around to noon. When Earth is farther it moves slower and it takes less time to rotate the Sun back to noon. Mean Solar Day is an average of the amount time it takes to go from noon to noon throughout an orbit = 24 Hours Real solar day varies by up to 30 seconds depending on the time of year. -

When you are that close to the end and you still have your wits about you, you are allowed a death bed conversion. Metaphorically speaking, that’s what this booklet is about. Living through the Closing of the Cycle does require some familiarity with the 13 Moon calendar. But this booklet is not about the calendar. It assumes that the calendar and the Law of Time are already known to you, though they may not yet be fully understood. Of course, if you are not familiar with the Dreamspell, Telektonon or the 20 Tablets of the Law of Time, you will probably want to make yourself familiar with them. The purpose of introducing more or less advanced material from the Dreamspell codes and Telektonon prophecy is only because the calendar change is assumed. It is the calendar change that makes the Road to 2012 a universal path for all human beings. The calendar change not only opens the door to the return to natural time, understood as an evolutionary inevitability, but it, therefore, also opens up new vistas of thought and social organization based on the Law of Time. -
