According to Krasnaya Zvezda the Auxiliary Fleet consists of 445 seagoing and harbor vessels with plans to build another 180 vessels by 2028. Russia’s Auxiliary Fleet is not only an important asset for Russian force projection, reportedly transporting over 112,000 tons of cargo to Syria since 2015, but is also important for routine military operations. In 2019, Auxiliary Fleet vessels traversed 476,000 nautical miles, transported 328,000 tons of cargo, performed 175 ice breaking missions, repaired 308 kilometers of undersea cables, and conducted 14,962 towing operations. Today the Auxiliary Fleet is a large (over 10,000 personnel), highly professional, cohesive collective performing diverse logistic support missions in all fleets and flotillas and in all base facilities. In accordance with the Concept for Auxiliary Fleet Development From 2012 Through 2020, 105 state-of-the-art vessels (27 seagoing support vessels, 78 harbor support vessels) have been built. The main priority in developing the Auxiliary Fleet is the construction of general-purpose and multifunctional vessels, a reduction in the number of types of ships, and capability of performing integrated logistic support missions, above all in supporting ship groupings in remote ocean areas. The tug fleet is also being updated. Over 50 of the newest seagoing and harbor tugs have been built and transferred to the fleets in recent years. The makeup of seagoing self-propelled floating cranes is being updated. A series of 11 vessels already has been built, and another eight seagoing self-propelled floating cranes will be delivered up to 2028… The diesel-electric icebreaker Ilya Muromets, which will perform icebreaker support missions in Northern Fleet, became operational with the Navy in 2017. Delivery of a shallow-draft icebreaker to Pacific Fleet is planned in 2027... A medium oceangoing tanker became operational in the Navy for the first time in the last 37 years. The vessel was built using state-of-the-art technologies, has a reinforced ice class, and is capable of carrying over 7,500 tons of cargo of varying nomenclature and transferring it underway to three ships simultaneously.     From issue 2601 of New Scientist magazine, 28 April 2007, page 28-33 The cosmos - before the big bang How did the universe begin? The question is as old as humanity. Sure, we know that something like the big bang happened, but the theory doesn't explain some of the most important bits: why it happened, what the conditions were at the time, and other imponderables. Many cosmologists think our standard picture of how the universe came to be is woefully incomplete or even plain wrong, and they have been dreaming up a host of strange alternatives to explain how we got here. For the first time, they are trying to pin down the initial conditions of the big bang. In particular, they want to solve the long-standing mystery of how the universe could have begun in such a well- ordered state, as fundamental physics implies, when it seems utter chaos should have reigned. Several models have emerged that propose intriguing answers to this question. One says the universe began as a dense sea of black holes. Another says the big bang was sparked by a collision between two membranes floating in higher-dimensional space. Yet another says our universe was originally ripped from a larger entity, and that in turn countless baby universes will be born from the wreckage of ours. Crucially, each scenario makes unique and testable predictions; observations coming online in the next few years should help us to decide which, if any, is correct. Not that modelling the origin of the universe is anything new.

When this principle is applied to the universe as a whole, we use what is commonly named “quantum cosmology”. So far we do not have a definite quantum theory of gravity or cosmology, but we have several promising approaches. Here we will review the application of the Wheeler–DeWitt formalism to the late-time universe, where it might face a Big Rip future singularity. The Big Rip singularity is the most virulent future dark energy singularity which can happen not only in general relativity but also in some modified theories of gravity.

    42 IPRI Journal Pakistan XVI-Azerbaijan, No.1 (Winte Economicr 201 and6): Defence42-58 Cooperation Pakistan-Azerbaijan Economic and Defence Cooperation Dr Kamal Makili-Aliyev and Khurram Abbas** Abstract Azerbaijan and Pakistan have a very unique political relationship that has surpassed territorial boundaries and geographical distance. It offers opportunities for cooperation in many areas, especially in the economic and defence sectors. Diplomatic relations, established since Azerbaijan‟s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, have allowed these two countries to start developing cooperation very rapidly. Pakistan was the second country to recognise Azerbaijan‟s independence, and has not established diplomatic relations with Armenia.1 Both countries have supported each other diplomatically on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Kashmir dispute at all international forums. This article is an attempt to identify the prospects and potential of strengthening economic and security ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. It also tries to explore the reasons behind the low volume of trade between the two countries, and makes concrete recommendations on how this trade volume can be increased. 'Both Stick and Carrot': US Threatens Afghan Taliban With Terrorist List if it Repudiates Promises by Morgan Artvukhina \ US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said Friday that listing the Taliban* as a terrorist organization was one tool in several that Washington could use to lure the Afghan militant group into living up to its promises, which include renouncing terrorism and ending support for terrorist groups. Asked at a Friday press conference about whether the threat of being placed on the State Department's Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) list was a pressure tool Washington was using to get results from the Taliban, Price responded that it was. “We have a number of tools at our disposal. The Taliban, right now, is a specially designated global terrorist group. They’re on the SDGT designation list. That is one tool. It’s both a stick and ...a carrot, a potential inducement, to induce the Taliban to uphold those basic international norms, the basic rights of its people," Price said. "But the FTO list, other sanctions, that’s one single tool.” The SDGT list, maintained by the US Treasury, is used for applying financial sanctions to groups that frustrate their operations, while the FTO prohibits material support for them and is much higher profile.
