Nordic co-operation has firm traditions in politics, the economy, and culture. It plays an important role in European and international collaboration, and aims at creating a strong Nordic community in a strong Europe. Nordic co-operation seeks to safeguard Nordic and regional interests and principles in the global community. Common Nordic values help the region solidify its position as one of the world’s most innovative and competitive. The Nordic Council of Ministers is a forum of co-operation between the Nordic governments. The Nordic Council of Ministers implements Nordic co-operation. The prime ministers have the overall responsibility. Its activities are co-ordinated by the Nordic ministers for co-operation, the Nordic Committee for co-operation and portfolio ministers. Founded in 1971. The Nordic Council is a forum for co-operation between the Nordic parliaments and governments. The Council consists of 87 parliamentarians from the Nordic countries.     Threats to the Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage Site Niels Henrik Hooge, NOAH Friends of the Earth Denmark’s Uranium Group 9th International NGO Forum on World Heritage | 24 February 2021 The site • One of three WHS in Greenland. • Inscribed on UNESCO’s world heritage list in 2017 under Criterion V in the WH Convention as “an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is representative of a culture (or cultures), or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change”. • It comprises a sub-arctic farming landscape consisting of five components representing key elements of the Norse Greenlandic and modern Inuit farming cultures. The guidelines also cover travelling with these animals within Greenland. In order to protect the Greenlandic Sled Dog as a breed Act no. 18 of 30 October 1998 establishes a so called sled dog district. The territory is defined as follows: th ● North of Greenland on the West Coast from north of 66 ​ northern degree of latitude, ​ th ● The entire East Coast down to Kap Farvel, east of the 44 ​ western degree of longitude. ​ Within this district, only Greenlandic Sled Dogs may be kept and it is strictly prohibited to bring other dogs into these areas. This concerns both dogs travelling onboard cruise ships with tourists and local dogs travelling within Greenland. In accordance to Article 19, subsection 2 of Act no. 18 of 30th October 1998 by Greenland´s Home Rule regarding sled dogs, it is prohibited to introduce dogs of any race into the sled dog districts. The same Article states that it is prohibited to reintroduce Greenlandic Sled Dogs once they have left the sled dog district. Working dogs and service dogs for disabled people may be permitted admittance to the sled dog district, but only after receiving a permit from the Government of Greenland. Working dogs are solely defined as the dogs used by police or by the authorities in relation to border control.

Sogn og Fjordane har både næring, kultur og natur 5 som er viktige å ta vare på, kjempe for og utvikle inn i framtida. Fleire statlege 6 institusjonar har dei siste åra blitt sentraliserte, og difor er det ekstra viktig å lage eit 7 fylke som er tettare på innbyggjarane. 8 SV vil at Stortinget skal skriv ut folkerøysting om framhald eller oppdeling av Vestland 9 fylke. Om fleirtalet i folkerøystinga, i ein av valkrinsane, seier ja til Sogn og Fjordane 10 skal Stortinget opprette fylka Sogn og Fjordane og Hordaland. 11 2) Ja til rein Førdefjord 12 SV seier ja til gruvedrift og nei til fjorddeponi og ope dagbrot. SV krev full utnytting av 13 ressursane ved gruvedrift i Vevring. 14 3) Ja til eit levande kulturliv i Sogn og Fjordane 15 Eit levande kulturliv treng både dei profesjonelle kulturarbeidarane, institusjonane og 16 det frivillige kulturlivet. Special attention is paid to bordering as a means for disease control and the governments’ aim to “protect the population and secure functions of society” during the pandemic. Not only did the government restrict flights and ‘non- essential’ travel from non-Schengen countries such as Russia, China and Thailand but, with some exceptions, it also restricted everyday cross-border encounters and commuting between Finland and its Schengen neighbours of Sweden, Norway and Estonia.

SKB's overall evaluation is that the municipality of Mala could provide good pros- pects for a deep repository. We would like to mention two factors in particular as arguments in support of this conclusion; the bedrock and the local mining tradition. The bedrock is decisive in determining the feasibility of achieving safe disposal, and there are large areas in Mala Municipality where we judge the bedrock conditions to be good. We cannot determine, however, whether a particular site is definitely suitable from the feasibility study - that will require direct investigations on the site. The mining industry, with all its peripheral activities, has through the years made Mala a centre of knowledge on geoscience and underground rock excavation. We are familiar with the value of this knowledge because specialists from Mala - geologists, geophysicists, diamond drillers and others - have participated in SKB's development activities since the start in the 1970s.
