FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Robin Noelle Director of Publicity Sonoma County Fair (707) 545-4200 [email protected] Trace Adkins Headlines 2011 Sonoma County Fair Concert Series Trace Adkins Presented by BC Powder Performs August 11th in Chris Beck Arena SANTA ROSA, Calif. – May 7, 2011 – The Sonoma County Fairgrounds today announced that country music superstar Trace Adkins will be performing as part of the Headline Concert Series during the 2011 Sonoma County Fair, July 27-August 14 (closed Mondays). The popular country musician and actor will perform August 11th at 7:30 pm in the Chris Beck Arena. Adkins released his first album, Dreamin’ Out Loud, in 1996. The album went platinum and produced three Top 3 hits for Adkins, including his first #1, “Thinkin’ Thing.” To date, Adkins has had twenty-eight singles land on Billboard's country chart, with 14 breaking into the Top 10. Chart topping hits such as “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” and “You’re Gonna Miss This,” earned Adkins two of his four Grammy nominations. His videos have been fan-voted Top Video of the Year three times on GAC, and “Honky- Tonk Badonkadonk” was voted #2 Video of the Decade by CMT. Adkins became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2003 and has been an actor, both on television and in the movies, an author, a voiceover artist and commercial spokesman, a social commentator, and a reality show participant on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. He is also currently a celebrity spokesman for BC Headache Powder. Headline concerts require a separate ticket purchase in addition to general admission to the Fair. Tickets are $25 for reserved grandstand seating or $40 for the reserved floor seating and can be purchased starting Saturday, May 14 at the Sonoma County Fair Box Office. Fair general admission tickets can be purchased before the Fair (through July 26) for $7; $9 at the gate. The Sonoma County Fairgrounds Box Office will be open 9 am – 4 pm on Saturday, May 14th and reopens Monday, May 16th from 8 am – 4:30 pm and will be open weekdays through the Fair and all Saturdays starting June 4th. This year’s Sonoma County Fair is themed “Diamond Jubilee” and is the 75th anniversary celebration. To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Sonoma County Fair has plans to celebrate the past 75 years of fairs and showcase the major highlights including the past 25 years in the Hall of Flowers.
