STUNNING VILLAS PITTVILLE CRESCENT

Boo Homes have designed and built a pair of brand new 4 storey town houses, inherently modern combining sleek lines, luxury interiors and innovative technologies. Each residence provides a Master Bedroom and Dressing Room Suite, 4 further en-suite bedrooms, a collection of reception rooms and secure off road parking.

Situated only minutes away from and within easy reach of the town centre, Boo Homes are eager to see this development in Pittville transform one of Cheltenham’s most prestigious crescents to help restore its street scene to the splendour envisaged by Joseph Pitt in the early 1800s. This modern interpretation of his original vision sees a building that is similar in height and scale to its neighbours with outstanding views to Cleeve Hill from the rear of the upper floors.

PITT & FORBES INFLUENCE

The spa town of Cheltenham had been thriving since the 1720s and was well known for its health benefi ts when Joseph Pitt bought land to the north of the town to build an estate that could rival Cheltenham in the 1780s.

Pitt commissioned John Forbes to create a master plan for this new estate in 1820. Pittville is one of Forbes’ most important works. As well as designing several of the houses in the conservation area he also designed the Grade I Listed Pump Room and St Paul’s Church in Cheltenham.

The vision for Pittville was to combine building plots with pleasure grounds, trees, an ornamental lake with walks and rides also possible around the estate. Although the layout of the estate had been designed by Forbes, building plots were subsequently bought by developers and these were then developed by local architects, builders and surveyors in accordance with the covenants set out by Pitt.

By 1850 there was a new stylistic preference for an Italianate style for suburban development; this was a departure from the Greek revival that Pitt had favoured.

By the twentieth century buildings plots were being developed in a piecemeal fashion with diverse architectural styles and designs.

Boo Homes have created a modern interpretation of a pair of Villas that Pitt and Forbes would wholeheartedly approve of.

COOL COOKING

In the design of their Pittville Villas, Boo Homes wanted to specify a pair of kitchens befi tting of these fi ne residences. Wanting to explore other manufacturers to those previously specifi ed in Boo Homes, so as to broaden design options, co-founder, Jilly Scott, canvassed the opinion of colleagues at the Boo offi ces in Cheltenham and in turn was introduced to L’una Design, whose studio is in the heart of Montpellier, Cheltenham and within walking distance of Boo’s offi ces.

Pedini has enjoyed a leading role in the history of the kitchen design world, for over fi fty years. In these years, Pedini has evolved from handcrafted craftsmanship to state of the art technology and materials, keeping perfectly in tune with our constantly evolving modern lifestyles.

Pedini’s reputation for style and design began in 1957 and still exists today. Curved compositions, the integration of appliances, fl ush handles, no handles and unique materials single out Pedini’s individuality. Every Pedini kitchen has a design language that separate it from its competitors. All Pedini products are internationally certifi ed to the highest standards. continued...

The Materika range, as used in the new Pittville Villas, is characterised by 30° angle doors. Its shape makes it practical and simple to use. In designing the kitchens for Pittville Villas, Boo Homes has selected a simple pallete of colours across the laminate furniture, glass backsplash and Silestone worktops.

Expecting that the kitchens in the Pittville Villas will be the hub of family life as well as a focal point for entertaining, Boo Homes has specified appliances that not only look good, but that will perform for everyday living as well as having the functionality to help you deliver your culinary masterpieces.

The kitchen is designed around a central island in which the hob and integral extraction unit is mounted. With ample room for seating at stools, there is space for food preparation whilst also socialising with friends and family. Weather permitting, the sliding doors to the garden may also be opened to create a perfect indoor/outdoor entertaining atmosphere. With the privacy and design detail of the walled rear garden, it really can just be treated like another room for alfresco living.

Separated from the kitchen area by broad stairs, the dining space is suited to a table that may comfortably seat 12 or more guests and has the benefit of a pantry at the same level. Fitted out in the same style as the kitchen, the pantry has a dishwasher, sink and ample storage.
