The University of Manitoba recognizes the value that international experience brings to our degree programs and will grant University credit for a number of different types of programs abroad.Y ou can partake in exchange programs, travel study courses, and field study courses providing hands-on experience and still have time to travel, explore, and even work abroad. If you ask anyone who has studied over seas, he or she will most certainly tell you that it is a life- changing and most rewarding experience.

Which program is for me? n Exchange Program The University of Manitoba has signed agreements with various abroad that allow you to have an overseas education for at-home prices. Currently we have over 40 active student exchange agreements around the world on nearly every continent. Courses are taught by these exchange universities during the normal academic year in places such as Australia, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Japan, Sweden, Turkey, and France. The university credited courses can be taken in either English or in the country’s official language.

n Travel Study/Field Study Travel Study/Field Study courses are University of Manitoba courses taught by University of Manitoba professors in locations other than our campuses. The courses run from a few days to several weeks and generally take place over the summer months providing you with hands-on exploration such as archaeological digs in the Mediterranean and/or North Africa and cultural/ language experience in India, Iceland, Poland, , and Baffin Island.T he Faculty of Arts directly sponsors a Winter term in Morelia, Mexico, and the Icelandic Summer School in Iceland.
