Seventh Sunday of Easter

Opening Prayer Dear God, thank-you for sending us your Son to show us how to live. Help us to do the work you have prepared for us. .

Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20

Jesus’ eleven disciples went to a mountain in , where had told them to meet him. They saw him and worshipped him, but some of them doubted. Jesus came to them and said: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth! Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. “I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.”

Jesus is saying goodbye to his friends. Have you ever had to say goodbye to someone you cared about? How did this make you feel? It is normal to feel sad and be worried that you will miss those you care about when you are saying goodbye. Jesus left the disciples with a mission, what did he ask them to do? Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. Who do you think does this work today? The Church does this work today. This means every member of the Church can help with this work. We can help by living and loving people as Jesus showed us to. Closing Prayer Jesus, thank you that you have never left us. Thank you for your promise to be with us al- ways. Help us remember you are there when we find it hard. Amen
