Jonathan Ross Free Episodes Download Keanu Reeves Don’T Be Surprised If Keanu Reeves Gets a Golden Globe Nom for ‘Bill and Ted Face the Music’ – It’S the Keanu-Ssance jonathan ross free episodes download keanu reeves Don’t be surprised if Keanu Reeves gets a Golden Globe nom for ‘Bill and Ted Face the Music’ – it’s the Keanu-ssance. To say the least, the “Bill and Ted” sci-fi comedies aren’t generally considered awards fare. They follow the title pair of stoned slackers (played by Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves ) as they travel through time. And yet, in the back of my mind, I keep having the sneaking feeling that we’re underestimating the latest film in the franchise, “Bill and Ted Face the Music,” at the Golden Globes. In particular, I think Reeves could get a surprise nom for Best Film Comedy/Musical Actor. “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” started the franchise back in 1989. Its awards success was limited to a couple of nominations at the Saturn Awards. The sequel, “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey,” followed in 1991 with a couple more Saturn noms, including a win for William Sadler ‘s supporting performance as the Grim Reaper. Not exactly knocking on Oscar’s door. But a lot has changed in the last 30 years. Reeves, especially, has been enjoying a Keanu-ssance where the public has reevaluated his life and career in the context of his charitable, down-to-Earth public image and his comeback performances in the “John Wick” films. Even the Razzie Awards have come around: Reeves used to be a perennial nominee, but then they cited him for two Redeemer Awards (2014, 2019) for all the newfound goodwill he’s accumulated. “Bill and Ted Face the Music” has already expanded its awards profile from the previous films in the franchise. Reeves and the film were nominated at the People’s Choice Awards, and the compilation soundtrack picked up a nom at the Grammys. So the Globes could be next, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the number of films in contention (musicals like “In the Heights” and “West Side Story” might have been catnip to Globes voters this year, but they were moved out of the eligibility period). Reeves is a 100/1 underdog in our current odds, based on the combined predictions of thousands of Gold Derby users as of this writing, but not everyone thinks he needs to face the music. Two of the Expert journalists we’ve surveyed think he’ll sneak in: Tim Gray (Variety) and Matthew Jacobs (Huffington Post). Whoa! Make your predictions at Gold Derby now. Who do you predict and why? Keanu Reeves movies: 12 greatest films, ranked worst to best, include ‘Speed,’ ‘The Matrix,’ ‘John Wick’ Happy birthday, Keanu Reeves ! On September 2, the youthful Reeves will receive his 54th birthday cake (if you can believe it). Reeves’ film career has been filled with highs and lows, from such triumphs like “The Matrix” series and “Speed” as well as marked career lulls, from which he has always bounced back. As part of his birthday celebration, lets take a tour of his 12 greatest films and rank them from worst to best. Others as part of our photo gallery include “My Own Private Idaho,” “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and the “John Wick” movies. 12. BILL & TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE (1989) “Bill and Ted” was a double-edged sword for Reeves, introducing him to a wide audience as high school student Ted Logan, but forever equating in some critics’ minds the real-life actor with the dim bulb of a character that he played here, a mistaken image that dogs him until this day. As for the film, “Excellent Adventure” is quite a lot of fun (its 1992 sequel “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” is less so), with Reeves and Alex Winter making a charismatic duo. 11. SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE (2003) Reeves was cast in a rare romantic comedy role in Nancy Meyer ‘s film as Dr. Julian Mercer who must treat irascible playboy Harry Sanborn ( Jack Nicholson ) after he suffers a heart attack. Dr. Mercer suggests that Harry stay nearby during his recovery, so he shacks up with his much younger girlfriend Marin ( Amanda Peet ) whose beach house is being occupied by her mother, playwright Erica Barry ( Diane Keaton in her Oscar-nominated role). Erica and Harry don’t much get along at first, yet, at the same time, Dr. Mercer finds himself smitten with Erica. Reeves really loosens up as Dr. Mercer, and the result is a delight to see. 10. BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA (1992) Reeves took a lot of heat for his performance in Francis Ford Coppola ‘s vampire epic, with some critics refusing to look at him beyond his “Bill & Ted” caricature. Granted, Reeves, who seems like such a contemporary actor, can sometimes be a difficult fit in period pieces, but under Coppola’s direction, he is credible as a lawyer hired by Count Dracula ( Gary Oldman ) to take care of his affairs — vampires need lawyers, too! — but soon teams up with Van Helsing ( Anthony Hopkins ) to stop Dracula’s reign of terror. 9. RIVER’S EDGE (1986) Tim Hunter ‘s “River’s Edge” was the first film in which Reeves was taken seriously as an actor. As Matt, Reeves becomes alarmed when his friend John ( Daniel Roebuck ) confesses that he has killed his girlfriend and wants to show Matt where she’s buried. When Matt tries to go to the police to report the murder, they accuse him of being an accessory after the fact. It’s a great dramatic dilemma where doing the right thing makes things worse for you, and Reeves makes the most of it. 8. PARENTHOOD (1989) Reeves really made his mark in Ron Howard ‘s ensemble comedy focused on the travails of the Buckman family. Much to the displeasure of her mother Helen ( Dianne Wiest ), daughter Julie ( Martha Plimpton ) has married her boyfriend Tod (Reeves) and gotten pregnant. When Helen becomes concerned about her porno-obsessed son Garry ( Joaquin Phoenix ), Tod steps up to give Garry a man- to-man talk. Helen is impressed and begins to reconsider her dislike of Tod. It’s a wonderfully sunny performance and a real change of pace by Reeves. 7. POINT BREAK (1991) Reeves received some of his best career reviews for Kathryn Bigelow ‘s buddy-cop thriller set in the world of surfing. As undercover FBI agent Johnny Utah (love the name), Reeves investigates a series of bank robberies conducted by a group of surfers, led by their charismatic leader Bodhi ( Patrick Swayze ). Under the sharp direction of eventual Oscar winner Bigelow, both Reeves and Swayze deliver performances that are among their career bests. 6. DANGEROUS LIAISONS (1988) In Stephen Frears ‘ film of Christopher Hampton ‘s play, Reeves co-starred as Le Chevalier Raphael Danceny, the courtier for Cécile de Volanges ( Uma Thurman ). He begins a sexual affair with Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil ( Glenn Close ) and has to duel with Vicomte de Valmont ( John Malkovich ). Danceny is very busy here. While he was later knocked post-“Bill & Ted” for appearances in period films, Reeves garnered fine reviews handling Hampton’s Oscar-winning screenplay. 5. JOHN WICK series (2014, 2017) At a low point in his career where it seemed his films were all about to go straight to DVD, Reeves scored an unexpected triumph with “John Wick,” an action film, yes, but one that was so surprisingly dependent on character. Reeves plays a retired hitman who has just lost his wife and still has his beagle puppy to fill his emotional void. But when gangsters show up and kill the puppy, to John Wick, that will not do. 4. MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHNG (1993) Reeves joined some pretty heavy Oscar-winning company ( Kenneth Branagh , Emma Thompson , Denzel Washington ) when he was cast as Don John, the bad guy in Branagh’s delightful take on Shakespeare’s famed romantic comedy. While Reeves is clearly not a Shakespearean-trained actor, he exudes just enough menace to lend enough drama to Branagh’s romantic romp. 3. THE MATRIX trilogy (1999, 2003) Arguably Reeves’ biggest hit, “The Matrix” series does not ask for significant dramatic emoting, so Reeves’ Neo is an action hero who speaks very few words, much in the style of Bruce Willis or Arnold Schwarzenegger . It was instead the intricacy of the screenplay and the directorial skill that the Wachowskis brought to the project that allowed Reeves to be the monosyllabic good guy and be completely believable. These are the films that for which Reeves might likely be most remembered. 2. MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO (1991) In one of Reeves’ most highly-acclaimed films, Reeves portrays Scott, a street hustler, who teams up with his best friend Mike ( River Phoenix ), a fellow hustler, to service an older woman. Mike and Scott vow to get out of the hustling business, but neither one of them seem to know how. Post-“Bill and Ted,” “My Own Private Idaho” marked a significant leap forward artistically for Reeves, who garnered some of the best reviews of his career for his portrayal of Scott.

We set out to make that film, to tell a story that is not a music doc, or a conventional biopic, but the dramatic saga of a great American artist and thinker; a film that would set out to convey the scope of Zappa’s prodigious and varied creative output, and the breadth of his extraordinary personal and political life.

CAST BIOGRAPHIES Season 2 RICKY WHITTLE (SHADOW MOON) Ricky Whittle was born in Oldham, near Manchester in the north of England. Growing up, Whittle excelled in various sports representing his country at youth level in football, rugby, American football and athletics. After being scouted by both Arsenal and Celtic Football Clubs, injuries forced him to pursue a law degree at Southampton University. It was here he began modeling, becoming the face of a Reebok campaign in 2000. Whittle left university to pursue an acting career and soon joined several action-packed seasons as bad boy Ryan Naysmith in Sky One’s “Dream Team.” Following that, Whittle quickly joined the U.K.’s hugely popular long-running drama, “Hollyoaks,” in which he played rookie cop Calvin Valentine to acclaim across 400+ episodes. In 2010, Whittle made the decision to relocate to California and, within months of settling in, booked the role of Captain George East in the romantic-comedy feature Austenland for Sony Pictures, which was produced by Twilight creator Stephanie Meyer. Additionally, he was soon cast in a major recurring role in VH1’s popular series, “Single Ladies.” Another major recurring role followed on The CW’s popular post-apocalyptic sci-fi series “The 100.” Whittle’s character, Lincoln, immediately became a fan-favorite character, so he was upped to a series regular. Simultaneously, Whittle also had a recurring arc as Daniel Zamora in ABC’s “Mistresses.” In 2016, after a vigorous casting process, Whittle won the coveted role of Shadow Moon in Starz’s “American Gods.” In 2017, Whittle was seen opposite Sanaa Lathan in the Netflix feature film Nappily Ever After, which is based on the novel of the same name by Trisha R.

    1. INTRODUCTION: FROM IMMIGRANT CINEMA TO NATIONAL CINEMA Press In September 2010, Maghrebi-French filmmaker Rachid Bouchareb’s seventh feature film, Hors-la-loi, a gangster film set against the backdrop of the Algerian war for independence, was released across cinemas in France. Made for a budget of €20m, released onUniversity more than 400 prints and starring Jamel Debbouze – a French-born actor of Moroccan immigrant parents and one of French cinema’s biggest stars – Hors-la-loi enjoyed the kind of distribution and marketing conditions reserved for onlyCinema the most high-profile French main- stream productions. The film aimed to capitalise on the success of Bouchareb’s Second World War epic, Indigènes (2006), which attracted over three million spectators in France and received an Academy Award nomination for best foreign film (admittedly as an Algerian rather than French film). If Indigènes’ message to its French audience was simultaneously confrontational and con- ciliatory, holdingEdinburgh successive French governments to account for freezing the pensions of North African colonial soldiers at the same time as it argued for the rightful placePost-Beur of the French-born descendants of these colonial veterans in France, Hors-la-loi proved far more controversial. At the film’s premier in Cannes in May 2010, a group of protestors including veterans of the Algerian war, supporters of the far-right and harkis (Algerians who fought for the French in the war for independence) gathered on the Croisette to oppose what they saw as Hors-la-loi’s historical distortion of colonial history. Pressure was put on the organisers of the festival as well as French distributors and exhibitors to boycott the film that was attacked as ‘anti-French’ by Lionel Luca, a member of the centre-right UMP party (Jaffar 2010: 38).

  • 1) Introduction. Cyberpunk 2077 Was a Highly Anticipated Video Game
    1) Introduction. Cyberpunk 2077 was a highly anticipated video game that was meant to tackle the cyberpunk genre and relied heavily on the idea of gender inclusivity in their PR. This makes it a worthy research object as it is one of few video games made by a large company with lots of resources that has truly attempted to step into inclusivity and progressiveness. Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 has also faced a large amount of criticism and was considered an absolute failure of a launch title, to the point where it was recalled. This paper will be addressing first what exactly Cyberpunk is and what it meant to accomplish along with the many factors that made it such a highly anticipated release. This paper will then continue to address how this ultimately ended up hurting the release by discussing its failures and the consequences to the company following their botched release. 2) Description and Context. Cyberpunk 2077 is a video game of the action role-playing game genre made by CD Projekt Red. Cyberpunk 2077 released December 10th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Google Stadia and for Microsoft Windows. The game places the player into Night City, “a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.” The player steps into the role of V, a mercenary trying to obtain a one-of-a-kind implant that will grant them eternal life. To get it, the player will have to hone their skills and fight off enemies ranging from police to security to street thugs in the name of their prize (“Cyberpunk 2077”).

Days of Glory and Outside the Law: Counter-Historical Remembrances1 MOURAD el FAHLI INTRODUCTION French mainstream cinema has always celebrated and memorialized the resistance and heroism of white French soldiers and citizens, overlooking the decisive and vital contributions of the colonized to the independence of France and Europe in general from the Nazi regime. This erasure of the subaltern is the product of a Eurocentric History (with capital H) that “Appropriates the cultural and material production of non-Europeans while denying both their achievements and its own appropriation.” (Shohat and Stam 1994: pp 2, 3) Yet, via their films, French-Maghrebi filmmakers challenge and deconstruct such Eurocentric History through counter-filmmaking, screening a revisionist programme of alternative remembrance. This article will examine the ways Maghrebi diasporas in France through the example of Days of Glory and Outside the Law by Rachid Bouchareb re-represents and visualize their reality within France before and after its independence from the Nazi regime. The article will, thus, have three major sections. The first section revisits current debates on the rapport film, history and memory. It introduces the notion of historical remembrance in an attempt to depart from the dichotomy of memory/history. The second one examines French cinema in the occupation period; the purpose throughout is to illustrate the occultation of the Maghrebi soldiers and Africans in general from these narratives. The last section underlines the rewriting of History by French-Maghrebi filmmakers through the example of Rachid Bouchareb Days of Glory and Outside the Law. FROM MEMORY TO HISTORICAL REMEMBRANCE: Film theory and criticism have inherited the kind of questions and debates that characterized the other six arts; the relationship between artistic and historical narratives was- and is still-a major issue in these discussions.
