    PARK DER OLYMPIASIEGER Einfach sehenswert VORWORT Liebe Leserinnen und Leser, liebe Sport-Interessierte, „Dabei sein ist alles!“ – dieser Satz wird immer wieder zitiert, wenn es um die Olympischen Spiele geht. Er geht zurück auf Pierre de Coubertin, den Initiator der Olympi- schen Spiele der Neuzeit. Im Jahr 1908, bei den Olympischen Spielen in London, soll de Coubertin Folgendes gesagt haben, als es eine heftige Diskussion darüber gab, wer den 400-Meter-Lauf gewonnen habe: „Das Wichtigste bei den Olympischen Spielen ist nicht zu gewinnen, sondern daran teilzunehmen.“ Dabei sein und mit einer Medaille im Gepäck nach Hause zu fahren – das ist freilich noch etwas schöner, als dabei zu sein. Indes ist es in der Tat den wenigsten Sportlerinnen und Sportlern vergönnt. Für bislang 15 hallesche Athletinnen und Athleten ist hingegen sogar der ganz große Traum in Erfüllung gegangen: Sie haben eine Goldmedaille errungen.
