The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator. Guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of top business, entertainment, sports and scientifi c leaders from around the country, the Foundation has awarded more than $200 million in research grants. Event proceeds benefi t cancer research funded by the V Foundation.
