Nba Announces Affiliations with Nba Development League for 2010-11 Season
NBA ANNOUNCES AFFILIATIONS WITH NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE FOR 2010-11 SEASON - Dallas Mavericks Begin Affiliation with Frisco-Based Texas Legends - NEW YORK , July 6, 2010 – The National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League, the official minor league of the NBA, today announced the affiliation system for the 2010-11 season, including first-time affiliations between the Dallas Mavericks and the Frisco-based Texas Legends, new to the NBA D-League for the 2010-11 season; the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bakersfield Jam; the Golden State Warriors and the Reno Bighorns; and the Orlando Magic and the New Mexico Thunderbirds. For the sixth consecutive year, each NBA team has one NBA D-League affiliate to which it may assign players in their first or second NBA season. “The direct affiliation between NBA and NBA D-League teams continues to benefit players, coaches, and basketball fans," said Dan Reed, NBA D-League President. "Nearly one-third of all NBA Draft picks have played for their NBA D-League affiliate since the program's inception, and these affiliate relationships are a key reason why 20 percent of all NBA players have NBA D-League playing experience." Entering the sixth year of direct affiliations between NBA and NBA D-League, a number of teams continue to build on strong affiliation relationships developed over past seasons. The Washington Wizards begin their fifth year as the parent club of the Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), while the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) have also been affiliated since the 2006-07 season. -

Press Clips November 25, 2015
Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips November 25, 2015 Predators-Sabres Preview AP November 25, 2015 The Buffalo Sabres have found goals hard to come by during a season-high, five-game slide. The Nashville Predators won't have any sympathy as they endure the longest scoring drought in club history after being shut out three straight times. These teams with floundering attacks meet Wednesday night, with the visiting Predators seeking a fifth straight win in the series. Buffalo (8-11-2) fell 2-1 at home to St. Louis on Monday to drop to 0-3-2 in its last five. The Sabres took the lead into the third period on former Predators center David Legwand's first goal only to falter over the final 20 minutes. "I thought it was a hard-fought game," coach Dan Bylsma said. "There was a lot of good in a lot of areas from our team. You'd like to find some goals in there." Bylsma's club isn't the only one searching for goals with Nashville (11-6-3) enduring a drought of 213 minutes, 47 seconds after Monday's 3-0 road loss to the New York Rangers. That's the longest in the NHL since the Coyotes were blanked for 245:33 in 2012-13. The Predators are on the verge of even more dubious distinctions. The last time a team was shut out four straight times happened to the 1967-68 Oakland Seals, who tied one of those games. The last club to lose by shutout four straight times was the Montreal Maroons, whose streak spanned the end of 1929-30 and beginning of 1930-31. -

NBA Feature Story
2018-19 NBA Season Already a Wild One By: Isaac Tomoletz On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, the NBA regular season officially started. Before the season started, there were some big moves by players and teams in this past offseason. Starting with the back-to-back Champions, the Golden State Warriors added a big time player to their already stacked team, Demarcus Cousins, who missed the majority of the season with a torn achilles. Another big shocking move was made by two teams, the Toronto Raptors traded star player Demar Derozan for San Antonio Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard. There were also players such as Jimmy Butler of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who wasn’t happy with his current relationship with his team. So many rumors spread about where he’s going. All of these plus other deals and trades such as Carmelo Anthony signing to the Houston Rockets, one of the biggest deals over the summer was former Cavs forward LeBron James signing to the Los Angeles Lakers have fans wondering about the coming season. All of these changes in teams were months ago, but the NBA season is now underway and we have already seen some interesting things. One of the big talks lately has been about the game played on this past Saturday between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. During the fourth quarter between the two, a foul occured on Brandon Ingram, a player on the Lakers. After the foul, Ingram pushed Rockets guard, James Harden, which resulted in him getting a technical foul. As the situation was being handled, Rajon Rondo of the Lakers and Chris Paul of the Rockets started arguing and then all hell broke loose in the Staples Center in Los Angeles when Rondo threw a punch at Chris Paul and then Ingram hopped in and threw a punch as well. -
