LARSSON Henrik (SWE) 100m Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Winner 10.33 Q This all is about defending my title from the two years ago and I go step by step towards my target. However, I have some slight pain on my left lower hamstring so I hope it will not affect me too much. It is not srious, it does not hurt too much but it is bothering me a bit. As far as my body holds up, I can fulfill my target. But it is out of my control. We will see how the body feels tomorrow and then I go for the win. 08/07/2021 20:09 AZU Jeremiah (GBR) 100m Men Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Winner 10.19 PB Q I felt very well in the warm up. I knew something was going to happen today... Happy for the PB. 08/07/2021 20:18 ILLUKKA Riku (FIN) 100m Men Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Second 10.26 NU23R Q The plan coming here was always to do my best. It was a very technical race, but running against the British pushed me further - of course. I ran fast in the first , but slowed down in the last 40 metres, so there is room for improvement . 08/07/2021 20:21 LÓPEZ Sergio (ESP) 100m Men Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Second 10.40 Q Well, I was really nervous before the start of race because this was already the semi final - there were no heats this time, but I left it all on the track. I managed to recover a number of places towards the end of the race. Tomorrow is a new day, I 'm going to go for it, and let's see what happens in the final. 08/07/2021 20:25 HARTMANN Joshua (GER) 100m Men Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Winner 10.37 Q Got another pretty good start and it was ok. I enjoyed it. 08/07/2021 20:49 LARSSON Henrik (SWE) 100m Men Final - Silver 10.36 The race did not go well for me. I stumbelled after the start. When I was running from the blocks, I kicked my calf and lost some time. Under these circumstances, I think it is a good result. But I always want the victory. I have not had the best preparation since the last 1.5 years - always some injuries on and off. I had big expectations but this reult is just the answer of my body. I have to be kind to myself. 09/07/2021 21:04

MONNE Arnau (ESP) 100m Men Final - Bronze 10.41 I came to the final with feeling relaxed because I knew I had put all the hard work before this competition. The main goal was to do well in the European Championships. I managed to make it to the final with ease. I spoke to my coach and to my family, and being in the final was already a well deserved reward - so just wanted to enjoy the fdact I did a good race, came out of the blocks really strong and that's it. 09/07/2021 21:31 AZU Jeremiah (GBR) 100m Men Final - Gold 10.25 I can't find the proper words. It has been so hard. It is very emotional moment for me. It was so difficult to get back after the injury. I feel absolutelly stunned (started to cry). 09/07/2021 21:47 RETAMAL Pol (ESP) 200m Men Round 1 Heat 1/4 - Winner 20.90 Q It's really warm, you can feel how humid it is, but I came out here very relaxed - the main goal for he heats was to qualify for the next round. I came out strong, pushed hard, and it was important to have that good first experience in the heats to move onto the semis. Honestly, I had to do the job, and secure a place in the semi final - I will have to give it my all later, just like in the National Championships - because we will have the semis and the final in the same day. I'm going to go for it , because I came here with high hopes and goals due to being in a good position in the ranking - maybe it will pay off. 09/07/2021 12:43 SANTOS Delvis (POR) 200m Men Round 1 Heat 2/4 - Second 21.24 Q My intetion is always to come off the blocks as stronger as possible because the 200 are all about the speed. Personally, it is not easy to control - it's allmost all or nothing. My strategus is to focus on resistence so I can recover towards the finish. It requires more technical work, so I can reach the perfomance I wanted - that's it really. In the semi final, I need to come out more confident. I just recovered from injury, so I've been retracting myself a bit in the competition. I need to feel more confident and able to progress to progress in the competition. 09/07/2021 12:55 REAIS William (SUI) 200m Men Round 1 Heat 3/4 - Winner 20.81 Q I had to set my head back to the fast runs. I wanted the heat like this - fast and strong straight to the semifinal. I got injured like one month ago during the relay competition in Geneva. I had problem with my hamstring but now it is OK. I prepared for this championships in Chalm, near Luzern. I do not know what to expect from tomorrow but the main thing is to get to the final. And then, anything is possible. 09/07/2021 13:14

PRAZERES André (POR) 200m Men Round 1 Heat 3/4 - Third 21.24 PB Q There is no secret, I had a really good rest yesterday [between the 100m and the 200m]. It was a really tough race, so I went straight to sleep, as soon as I arrived back at the hotel. During the European Championships, there isn't really much we can do - all the hard work is done in advance. I'm extremely proud of myself and of what I achieved, also my coacha nd those who support me. Breaking my PB in both events I took part in during these European Championships, that means my job is done. Anything that comes after that is even better, and to have two portuguese sprinters in the semi finals is an advantage. We both come out here very strong, in fact, the competition here is very strong and I believe I can break my PB again. 09/07/2021 13:22 BOLDIZSAR Shemar (GBR) 200m Men Round 1 Heat 4/4 - Winner 21.04 Q It was interesting. I did not see anybody in front of me so I was just running my own race and wanted to see what I can come up with. I feel strong, the track is lovely so all went very good. Cannot wait for the next start. 09/07/2021 13:22 ADIGIDA Onyema (NED) 200m Men Semi-Final 1/2 - Second 20.62 NU23R Q I did not think about the time but just wanted to get the qualification. I had some small injury so it was not the best race for me. I was an European junior champion so I would love to add the next medal. Gold would be nice. 10/07/2021 13:10 PUROLA Samuel (FIN) 200m Men Semi-Final 2/2 - Winner 21.27 Q Because of the wind, I had to give everything I had. I wanted to secure a good lane in the final so it was tough. I think the wind affected the race a lot. 10/07/2021 13:04 RETAMAL Pol (ESP) 200m Men Final - Bronze 20.76 Actually, I'm very happy but I still have a little more in me - but, come on, I am very happy. The bend is always a problem for me, but I came out strong, because I knew they would eventually close the gap on me, so I had to keep going and stay strong down the home straight - I had to give it my all, I mean, really my all, and do what I always do which is to throw my chest forward - and I finished third, so I'm very happy. 10/07/2021 21:09

Flash Quotes As of 11 JUL 2021

GÓMEZ Jesús (ESP) 200m Men Final - Silver 20.60 PB More than a new PB is the fact and I'm second to the european champion. This final was unbelievable, we had it all planned with how coach. We talked about what we were going to do - we didn't follow it to perfection, that would be the dream scenario, but you never know if you can follow it through. Overall, the race went ok, I managed to go around the bend without any major difficulties - and kept my race going until the finish line, thus finishing second which is great. There is no secret to the way our Spanish team is performing here. We have an amazing team, both in terms of talent, but also at a personal level. The truth is we really get along, and that's more important than the actual sports performance. I guess that's the secret. 10/07/2021 21:15 REAIS William (SUI) 200m Men Final - Gold 20.47 EU23L The Championships went clearly very well for me. I was injured a month ago (had an hamstring issue) so being here as a U23 Champion is definitely incredible. Tomorrow we will be running a 4x400m relay and let's see what we can do there. We have an amazing team full of great athletes and I am happy that we can do this together. The next big competition is in Tokyo. There I am going to run the 200m dash again and I am really looking forward to this. Tallinn has been great. I feel grateful! 10/07/2021 21:27 TAVARES Ericsson (POR) 400m Men Round 1 Heat 1/5 - Winner 46.61 PB Q It was a good first race, I was expecting a slower time but it was great. I really didn't expect to run a PB in my first race. It paid off to change tactics - I came off the blocks very strong, which isn't usual. For the semi final I am going to try and run a new PB. If I run again in one of the outside lanes, I think I might try to stick to these tactics again. 08/07/2021 05:22 PAJUS Karl-Oskar (EST) 400m Men Round 1 Heat 5/5 - Seventh 49.19 I have never come out of the starting blocks that fast. I was trying to keep up with the pace, however, at the end I felt as if the legs were no longer down. Otherwise, it was a really nice experience. Hopefully I am gonna withstand the relay race better. The audience and the organizing team really add up to the overall experience. I feel grateful and cannot complain. 08/07/2021 08:25 PETRUCCIANI Ricky (SUI) 400m Men Semi-Final 1/3 - Winner 45.72 Q It felt like we had the head wind all the way down. It was tough but I did not leave all of me overthere. I think I still spared enough energy for the next fight. And it is going to be a big one. 09/07/2021 17:24

DRINGO Mihai Sorin (ROU) 400m Men Semi-Final 2/3 - Winner 46.16 Q I think the wind affected the race a lot but I cannot say. I am not an experienced runner, everything is new for me. I have been doing this event for only 11 months. I only started last August. I have not practiced any sports before. I only did athletics when I was a kid until the 7th grade and then I stopped. Only last year, my friend asked me if I can try 400m and we tried and it was good. I started to cooperate with a new coach and here I am. I train in the city of Oradea. 09/07/2021 17:38 SACOOR Jonathan (BEL) 400m Men Final - Silver 45.17 SB I am happy with my race, not quite there yet but I will get there for the Olympics. I am also vey happy because of my seasonal best but I a still a bit off but I will get there. 10/07/2021 18:36 PETRUCCIANI Ricky (SUI) 400m Men Final - Gold 45.02 CR I know I came here for a win, and I win - I'm very happy. I didn't expect I would break the Championships Records, but then again, I was thinking maybe I can do it. I just wanted to win, the record wasn't important. When I saw SACOOR [Jonathan] in lane 3, straight ahead from me I was like "No, no, no!", this time is mine, no one can beat me. It was a really good race. Swiss Athletics has a really good field of sprinters, we are all fast and we have to train to have really good results. I'm going to the Olympics, tomorrow I have the relays - it's quite tough - the job is not done yet. 10/07/2021 18:44 CRESTAN Eliott (BEL) 800m Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Winner 1:47.43 Q The last 200 metres of the 800 are really important, and you always need to increase your speed to get a good finish. I was very stressed today because anybody can win in the final - it's everyone's game on sunday. The competitio will be tough so we will see what happens. 09/07/2021 12:11 BARONTINI Simone (ITA) 800m Men Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Winner 1:47.52 Q The main thing for me was to get straight to the final because I did not make it two years ago. This is my last championships in this age category so I want to show a good performance. I like both - tactical and fast run but I do not know what to expect on Sunday. Unfortunatelly, I did not make it to the Olympics so this is my main target this year and we will see what comes after this championships. I prepared in Ancona and I would love to train more and compete more but there are no specific competitions in my shcedule yet. It looks I will just rest on the beach for the rest of the summer. 09/07/2021 12:21

LOBLES Djoao (NED) 800m Men Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Winner 1:46.73 Q It was a hard one. Pieter [SISK] was first, so I had run my own race. The first ended on the finish line at the same time - this is already enough. We will see what happens in the next round. 09/07/2021 12:28 CRESTAN Eliott (BEL) 800m Men Final - Silver 1:46.32 The last 200m of this race were very very difficult. We ran pretty fast but there were still many people in a group and it was difficult to pass them. It was a big fight in the last metres. I expected that I stay in the top three during the race and then I wanted to attack the first position. I managed it well but I think I made a mistake. In the next championships, I am not going to take the lead. I think it costed me the gold. The next stop is the Olympic Games but that is a totally different level. I am looking forward to that competition but I will take it more as a great experience in my career. 11/07/2021 18:21 BARONTINI Simone (ITA) 800m Men Final - Gold 1:46.20 No, I still can't believe it. I knew I could it, and five other people knew too, but between believing and actually doing it, there is a huge gap. I'm really thankful from the bottom of my heart to those who have been rallying behind me all the way. I've been really upset because I this year I wanted to do great things, but have been anxious about it. This was the main goal for this season, and I did it. I did a really great thing here today so I have to be very pleased. My opponents were very strong so I knew I couldn't run a slow race. I had to sprint in the end. Alessandro [SIBILIO], Eloisa [COIRO] and Dalia [KADDARI] kicked in the medals, and we have a really amazing Italian team - we hope we continue to enjoy ourselves until the end of these Championships. 11/07/2021 18:23 RANDOLPH Thomas (GBR) 800m Men Final - Bronze 1:46.41 PB That was amazing, I have been aiming for that. This season was like, I got time and then I was in the finals and well I got the Pb as well, which is great.I was happy with my position from the start, because I could see everybody and then the Italian guy [BARONTINI] came so yeah, I guess there were gaps and I had the chance to win, but I jut did not have it in me today. But yeah, really happy with the bronze medal. Defietely gonna go celebrate now! 11/07/2021 18:23 HERREROS Enrique (ESP) 1500m Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Third 3:44.62 Q We came out at a much faster pace than I was hoping but I managed to position myself in a comfortable spot. On top of that , there was an ugly fall on the back straight which I just managed to miss, but when I saw the pack getting ahead, I went with along with them, and in the end it turned out ok. My goal coming here was to get the direct qualification, so that is now done. 08/07/2021 17:39

MILLS George (GBR) 1500m Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Second 3:44.32 Q Honestly, I felt really good, it is a lovely track and lovely weather. Everything was going well on the training, I just wanted a couple more competitions. It was a good opportunity to come here. In the race, I felt there was some hustle in the middle of the race so I decided to stay away of this and to take control. 08/07/2021 17:49 PEREIRA Nuno (POR) 1500m Men Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Third 3:45.15 Q Given the fact I arrived here as Gold medallist [from the U20 European Championships in 2019] I feel I had and extra responsiblity when competing in the U23 Championships. I don't think my preparatin was as good as I would have wanted ahead of these European Championships, and when competing at this level there are always some expected complications one has to deal with. However, I feel I'm in good shape, and still on the way up. Today's race was challenging, but I wanted to run under control the first two laps so I could finish strong. In the end, I managed to finish 3rd and qualidfy directly to the final quite easily. 08/07/2021 17:55 NADER Isaac (POR) 1500m Men Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Winner 3:44.27 Q This was a good race, my goal was to win my heat although it was enough to finish 4th to qualify. Towards the end I tried to control the pace, because I knew that running in the last heat, it could be the fastest one. In fact, I'm under the impression this heat was the fastest one, thus having enabled other athletes to qualify as the 3 next fastest. My goal was to make it to the final and I did it. Now, it's time to rest, and recover from a challeging journey here, both for me and for Nuno [PEREIRA] , so I'm glad we're both running in the final. 08/07/2021 18:07 GARCÍA Mario (ESP) 1500m Men Final - Silver 3:40.11 I think I positioned myself in a really good position in the pack. To be honest, it was really closed, and it the race finished really but the most important is that I'm still a winner - that's all that matters. I've improved significantly, and to come second ahead of someone like Isaac [NADER] is always a pleasure, and an accomplishment in itself. He was one of my strongest competitors, and when I saw increasing his pace, I had to react because I know he had a really strong finish. 10/07/2021 17:28

VERHEYDEN Ruben (BEL) 1500m Men Final - Gold 3:40.03 I knew I was able to fight for a medal - but this is just a mirracle! I cannot believe I managed it. Before the race, I would not believe that it is possible to win a gold. I do not remember anything from the last 300m. There was a lot of pushing and kicking but it is normal in the race like this with 17 runners. I just wanted to stay clean of that and tried to push last 200m and told myself - OK you will be tenth or so. But in the last 100m, I went crazy. I was looking for my mother who is here but I did not see her. It is always a big support when my family is around. It is a magic. 10/07/2021 17:39 NADER Isaac (POR) 1500m Men Final - Bronze 3:40.58 My goal was the same as my competitors - to win and to listen to our national anthem - it was a dream, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to win but it's good enough because this is my first international medal so far. This is just the beginning. I believe I have a bright future ahead of me, I work very hard for it. Who knows, I might be able to go to the World Championships next year - either indoors or outdoors - and fighting for a final would be a good goal to start with. My hopes for the near future, maybe a year or two - is to be running close to the National Record in 800m. I think can do it, and this medal will be an extra motivation to reach that. If I carry on working like this, things will happen. I believe in my coach, this medal is for him, especially for him, but also for my family and those who work with me. I also want to dedicate this medal to my grandad, who sadly is no longer with us. He passed away two years ago, and my dream was had the chance of seeing me winning my first international medal. 10/07/2021 17:44 MAGNUSSON Baldvin (ISL) 5000m Men Final A - Bronze 13:45.00 NR The competition went well and I am very satisfied with the result. I wish I hadn`t gone ahead of the spanish so early but I knew that the fourth place would catch us soon, so I needed to do that. Overall, the season has been great for me. It has been a long season though, I started in like late January so yeah, it has been long. Good end to it though! The next big comptition will be in America, so yeah I am quite excited for that too, we`ll see how it goes over there. 10/07/2021 20:44 LAS HERAS Aarón (ESP) 5000m Men Final A - Silver 13:43.14 The truth is I'm very happy, but also frustrated with this new format of the 5000 metres race - with the two finals - we had no idea whether he had won or not when we finished the race. In the end, it turned out ok, I'm very pleased with the result. It's very warm, and the humidity is very high so I had to go out slow, to save some energy. When the two guys ahead of me changed the pace, I had to be cautious because if I went after him it could have worked for me, but it did in the end so it's all good. 10/07/2021 20:54

MOHUMED Mohamed (GER) 5000m Men Final A - Gold 13:38.69 I was really surprised when I saw we have two competitions as the final. I have never seen it before and it was a bit strange situation for us waiting on that chairs for the B-final. But I knew that the second run should be slower so my coach told me to take care of the fast pace and good time in the finish. I took the responsibility and it worked. I am happy that it went well in the end. The season is going well so far - I still have two weeks to prepare for Tokyo where I will compete for Germany at 5k. I will try for a good time. This season, I managed to achieve decent times, I became a German champions, so I am happy about it. 10/07/2021 21:08 LE PALLEC Florian (FRA) 10,000m Men Final - Silver 29:23.82 Honestly, I expected a tactical race as it was today. So I just wanted to follow the group and did not want to go too much forward in order to keep the energy for the end. When it got harder in the last laps, I saw the Spanish guy going to the front. I started to push the pace and 2 laps to go I pushed even harder and enjoyed the last 200m to secur the position. I was 11th in the ranking and this is my first European championships, so I am superhappy. I do not know what Bordeau was about to do. I knew he was first in the ranking and he does not have a strong finish. So maybe his plan was to push before and drop the guys but it did not work because it started to be windy and he lost a lot of eergy. We had no team strategy together. We with Gondouin wanted to stay in the group and he decided to go alone. I have 5k ahead f me so I have to recover as fast as possible to be back in shape for the 5K final. 08/07/2021 19:40 MENACHO Eduardo (ESP) 10,000m Men Final - Gold 29:14.92 PB I'm still in desbelief, this is all I ever wanted since the start of the season. Some people told me it was a crazy thought, that it wouldn't be possible, but I think I managed to do it as a result of really hard work throughout the year. Little by little, I was showing signs of some progress which really paidoff here today.I was expecting this race to start exactly as it did, and when [Pierre] BORDEAU changed the pace, and with the way he runs, I thought he could really do some damage to the pack - but had I gone wih him, maybe I would have not been able to finish so strong. This allowed me to save some energy and recover, so, in the end, I managed to shorten the gap, and catch up with him. All of a sudden, I found myself ahead of the pack on my own, and knew I had to hang in there so I could take first place. I'm really pleased with my result, in the end, what it matters is to come out to the Championships and run for the win. 08/07/2021 19:55 GONDOUIN Valentin (FRA) 10,000m Men Final - Bronze 29:24.40 The event is very well organized. BARROS Etson (POR) 3000m Steeplechase Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Second 8:46.91 Q [About Eemil HELANDER getting ahead] I became a little anxiousabout it, because I couldn't let the group right behind him widen the gap, but also had to focus on keeping up with them, so I could catch up when going for the last lap. It was a good effort to get through to the final. To be honest, I wasn't so confident about my usual strong finish when the Finish guy went for it - it does play with your mind a bit, but I manage to shorten the gap. For the final, I'm going to avoid taking the lead of the race, probably stay around the middle in case someone decides to kick in and try to get ahead. 09/07/2021 16:21 HELANDER Eemil (FIN) 3000m Steeplechase Men Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Winner 8:46.02 Q From the start, I tried to stay in the back with the group but then I felt enough power and thought myself that maybe I can go to the front and run faster. I am ready for either tactical or fast final, we will see what comes. I am based in the central Finland where I have good conditions for the training and I was not very much affected by the pandemic. Even coming here was OK because we went by boat and it only took us around 2 hours. It was very comfortable. 09/07/2021 16:24 PALKOVITS István (HUN) 3000m Steeplechase Men Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Winner 8:48.69 Q I was very nervous before the race because I did not know what to expect. This is my first international event and only second steeplechase sice 2020. The first three laps I stayed in the group but I am more like a solo runner. I did not feel any wind and the conditions were great so I felt it was an easy run. I train in the central Hungary in Kecskemet where I have good conditions. I hope it will be a cool race in the final, I am curious. 09/07/2021 16:38 BASTOS Simão (POR) 3000m Steeplechase Men Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Winner 8:43.71 PB Q The way I finished the race means there's a final we have to run in a couple of days, and I was inspired by my friend Isaac NADER [1500m finalist] who is in an extraordinary shape, and a good role model for his team mates, and opponents - the way he competes is incredible. I saw what he did in his heat, which he also won - and when I won, I thought about him, and did the same thing. Anything is impossile until the race is over. Of course I didn't come here thinking this was going to be easy - and I knew I would have to fight for a place [in the final], especially becuase I came here with the 18th fastest time, and only 15 get through to the final. I arrived here with an open minded, and wanting to win - that's what I said to my family and team mates, that I wanted to win. I like to race for the win, rather for a specif finishing time, and that's what motivated me here today. 09/07/2021 16:52

PALKOVITS István (HUN) 3000m Steeplechase Men Final - Gold 8:34.05 I have never had this kind of feelings in my life. It is a brand new experience for me and it feels so good. This is a first medal for Hungarian team at this championship in Tallinn so it is very precious. We will celebrate it together in the evening for sure - little party with a small drink. The race was going as I expected - I just stayed within the group in the first 5 laps and then speeded up the pace in the last 2 - 3 laps. I was self confident to go to the front with the blue bib on my chest. Now, I am looking forward to spending some time with my family at home in Kecskemet. 11/07/2021 17:02 BARROS Etson (POR) 3000m Steeplechase Men Final - Silver 8:38.00 PB This time, the result is even better. I managed to take the silver medal home. My plan was to avoid staying behind, and having to react to any pace change, but rather lead from the front controlling it. In the last 3 laps it was painful till the end, and I was praying a medal would come - and that's what happened. I had to sprint for it, in the last 400 I ran for my life and I am very grateful for it. I need to thank my coach and to everyone who has been supporting me. During the heats, I didn't feel as comfortable as today due to the constant pace changes, and that slowly exhsuated me. So, today it was already planned since yesterday that I would run front the front and if I didn't feel I could do it, I'd let someone else lead instead. In the last few laps I just had to believe I could do it. The spirit between us [Simao BASTOS] is very good, we were confident, and a few times I looked back to see if he was in the pack - and he was - but when the pack started increasing the pace, I could no longer see him behind me. 11/07/2021 17:11 CARABAÑA Nahuel (AND) 3000m Steeplechase Men Final - Bronze 8:39.17 It's the first time someone from Andorra has such high visibility in the European Championship or an international competition. The truth is I am very pleased for being able to show the rest of the world that Andorra is here amongstt all other countries, and I can show what we are made of in Andorra. Before the race, I was really really nervous. Of course I felt the pressure of being one of the favourites, but lately we have been working on that - it's the first time I feel I am amongst the best in Europe and I manage to perform well during the race. We accomplished our goal, and in all honestly it felt like something a bit hard to do - but we did it. 11/07/2021 17:11 OBASUYI Michael (BEL) 110m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 1/5 - Winner 13.80 Q It's still quite early, so I took it easy. Didn't want to risk it at all because, you know, in the heats I should be able to finish in the fastest four quite easily. Now, it's all about resting, and in the semis, I need to go fast for sure. I'm confident, and I'm sure I can run a time close to my PB, again. I'm not even going to talk about the final yet, just focus on the semis now - Getting a big Q, and then tomorrow, we will see. 09/07/2021 10:46

LLOPIS Enrique (ESP) 110m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 2/5 - Second 13.97 Q I came off the blocks quite relaxed, kept my pace under control, so all good. My goal was to get through to the semis, and job done. This afternoon, it will be much faster. There are three semi finals - if not mistaken first two plus fastest two will go through - it's going to be a top race. 09/07/2021 10:56 VOLZER Stefan (GER) 110m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 3/5 - Third 14.00 Q My coach said that I should just have fun and enjoy the race as much as possible. There is definitely more to come in the semi-final so I will look forward to it. 09/07/2021 11:33 KWAOU-MATHEY Just (FRA) 110m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 4/5 - Winner 13.74 Q I had a pretty good start. It went very well, even though I felt a bit tired because everything took place in the morning. I feel more concentrated on the semi final now. It was a bit comical race due to the wind, which in my opinion impacts the performance drastically. But nevertheless, I am doing well in any case. I hope it will go quickly today. I am really looking forward to the finals and think I am prepared enough. Tallinn is a really beautiful city. My hotel has such a nice view over the sea and life here seems vibrant. 09/07/2021 11:50 MARTÍNEZ Asier (ESP) 110m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 5/5 - Winner 13.64 Q This race went really well. My only goal was to get through to the next round, and to get a good feel in the first few hurdles - job done, now I want to enjoy the rest of the day. The British hurdler [Joshua ZELLER] went for it from the start, so I knew I had to go along with him, in the first two or three hurdles, knowing I have a very strong finish - so I took advantage of it to come first in this heat. 09/07/2021 11:20 OBASUYI Michael (BEL) 110m Hurdles Men Semi-Final 1/3 - Winner 13.56 Q When I was over the 6th or 7th hurdle, I already knew I was in the lead and calmed down a bit. As it was not technically a perfect race, I did not expect the time so fast. The wind was also changing from the start until the finish. In the high hurdles, anything can happen in the final but the main goal is the gold. I am in the shape of my life. 09/07/2021 18:43

OBASUYI Michael (BEL) 110m Hurdles Men Final - Silver 13.40 Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I mean, 30.40 with a minus 1.6 headwind is pretty crazy. For me it does not matter if I am second today and running that time with that headwind in that level is pretty great. I am actually really proud of all of us, we are all friends and today was just- we have all made mistakes during the whole competition but I think that everyone can be proud of themselves since it was a really fast final, very hard level. 10/07/2021 18:10 LLOPIS Enrique (ESP) 110m Hurdles Men Final - Bronze 13.44 I think this is unbelievable. My goal was to make it to the final, because it was not an easy pass - there were athletes here who are going to Tokyo, so we know the final was going to be tought. That's what happened, and I'm really pleased I finished in the top 3. 10/07/2021 18:11 MARTÍNEZ Asier (ESP) 110m Hurdles Men Final - Gold 13.34 When I crossed the finish line, all I could think is how happy I was. Races like are always very tough, but in the first few hurdles they went ahead a few meters - but in the end it all worked in my favour, and the way I usually run so I'm really pleased. Before coming here, all I was thinking was to enjoy the competition, and have a good experience - and why not dream about one of the medals. It turned out exactly like that. I'm also very pleased for LLOPIS [Enrique], who deserves it more than anyone, so I'm very pleased for both of us. 10/07/2021 18:15 OBASUYI Michael (BEL) 110m Hurdles Men Final - Silver 13.40 The race went fantastically well. It was a really special race to me. I mean, I respect all the hurdlers/guys here because we are really going fast like 30 to 40 mph headwind. It's something very special. So I can only be proud today. I mean in my head I was going for the gold, obviously, but it doesn't matter anymore. I mean, I'm very very happy. And that silver is just amazing. The only 'preparation thing' I do before the competition is just that I train, eat, sleep, repeat. The is everything for me, so I just sacrifice everything else. And then day in day out I mainly just concentrate on getting better as a hurdler. I am really looking forward to my first Olympics in Tokyo, but I just want to stay on this level that I am at right now. This would be nice. 10/07/2021 19:23 KNIBBS Alex (GBR) 400m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 1/4 - Winner 50.27 Q After this delay, because of the rain, I had to keep mentally focused. SIBILIO Alessandro (ITA) 400m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 2/4 - Winner 50.88 Q I always feel terrible before the first start of the championships, but now it is all good. It was a good race and the track is also nice. I did not mind the delay at all. I tried to push in the first 200m but then I just controlled the last part and watched if there is somebody getting closer to me. I feel confident coming to this event and it is very important to me to fight for medals. I want to give my best in the final on Saturday. 08/07/2021 14:00 ANGELA Ramsey (NED) 400m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 3/4 - Winner 50.26 Q This quite an easy qualification, I just did what I had to do., and after to next the next round. [About running the 400m Hurdles plus the 4 x 400 me Relay] I'm quite used to this, but for now I'm focused on winning a medal - first things first - then, we will see how I will recover, but I'm sure it is going to be ok. Still nice [to come to these U23 Champsionships] I`m still young, and I feel I have to be amongst other younger athletes. Competition here is not that easy, because I know I have strong competitors, but still, it's going to be a nice event. 08/07/2021 14:15 DÖMÖTÖR Patrik (SVK) 400m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 4/4 - Winner 51.07 PB Q I do not understand it. I do not know where did I find this in me. My coach told me I can run even under 51 seconds but I am over the moon because of this time and a new PB. Before the race, I expected to qualify from the 3 - 4th place. But the track was very fast and conditions good. We will see what my legs will look like tomorrow but I defiitelly want to fight for the final spot. It was fantastic today. 08/07/2021 14:30 SHIFF Omri (ISR) 400m Hurdles Men Round 1 Heat 4/4 - Second 51.25 PB Q Actually I feel really good despite the weather conditions. I am really happy that I did my new personal best. Fortunately, made it to the semi-finals and looking forward to it on Friday. I am very happy to be here and that I can run with these guys.

08/07/2021 14:47 ANGELA Ramsey (NED) 400m Hurdles Men Semi-Final 1/2 - Winner 49.17 PB Q I am really surprised with this result and a personal best because it was really an easy run. This track must be really a good one because the time was so fast despite the head wind we had in the last meters. I feel self-confident but I also put some kind of a pressure on myself to provide the best performance. This medal is just for me so I am ready to win it. We are still young and unexperienced athletes so I want to show we can perform well even in the year like this - with all the covid restrictions. I prepared at home in Arnhem for this season and the next big stop is Tokyo. I did not make the team in my event but I will be the part of the relay team so I look forward to it. 09/07/2021 15:19

KNIBBS Alex (GBR) 400m Hurdles Men Semi-Final 2/2 - Second 50.00 Q [About this race] Found it pretty good, got a new stride for the first 200, and made sure I was top two so I have a middle lane for the final. I just focused on my own race, I had to practice a new stride - focus on me, and the rest will work for itself. 09/07/2021 15:24 BALUCH Matej (SVK) 400m Hurdles Men Semi-Final 2/2 - Fourth 50.59 PB q I was superhappy to be in the second semifinal because there were peple with very good times so I could catch up with them. I managed to run my own race in the end but it helped me to improve my PB and now I realized I got into the final so I am over the moon. I will just to try to enjoy the final run. 09/07/2021 15:28 SIBILIO Alessandro (ITA) 400m Hurdles Men Final - Gold 48.42 EU23L It was not easy. There is a lot of work behind this, this is the easy part. I have great opponents, we are all friends and Ramsey [ANGELA] was too strong yesterday - but today is my day! I got my PB, I'm so happy. Yesterday, I saw great performances, so I knew I had to run my PB - I knew I can run like this. Now, I'm going to Tokyo and I want to enjoy. I'm too happy for now, but the semi final in Tokyo would be the dream or even the final with the best. 10/07/2021 16:16 AGYEKUM Emil (GER) 400m Hurdles Men Final - Silver 48.96 PB I felt pretty good. I did 13 steps on the 6th or the 7th hurdle. I was on the lane 8 and alone, basically had my own race. But in the last 100m I saw the other coming, but it was still pretty nice to compete with these guys. I try to keep myself mentally calm before every start, while reminding myself to be focused on the race. Unfortunately, I am not going to Tokyo, but nonetheless I enjoyed today's race very much. 10/07/2021 16:25 CARMOY Thomas (BEL) Men Qualification Group A - Winner 2.15 q It all looks fine here in Tallinn and the surface is very good for jumping. After Torun, where I got the medal, my life changed a bit - I managed to get some new sponsors and it helped me. But now, I am focusing on this medal as I already have the U20 title and want to add the next one. I do not know, maybe 225 - 228 will be enough to get the victory. We will see but I feel very good here. 09/07/2021 18:15

LANDO Manuel (ITA) High Jump Men Final - Silver 2.17 PB To be honest, I didn't expect this because the High Jump is a very unpredictable event. Of course I would have liked to get a gold medal, that's always the dream. 11/07/2021 19:34 ŠTEFELA Jan (CZE) High Jump Men Final - Gold 2.20 PB I guess this result is shocking for many reasons. I just came here - very unexperienced because this is my first major international event in my career, and it is gold... I bet nobody would even think about this result before this competition. In the junior category, I was not very lucky with the qualification standards and did not make it to the big events. The crucial moment was to jump in the first attempt at 2.20. Coming here, our target was to reach the top 5. I did not jump well in the qualification and also the first jump in the final was also not that good. But then, I started to feel OK. I hope my coach Jiri Malysa is watching the TV at home because I want him to see what I managed. 11/07/2021 19:43 PITRA Carlos (POR) Men Qualification Group B - Fifth 5.20 q I managed to get this qualification, but in all honesty, I wasn't expecting this because of some changes I had to endure lately . In fact, only recently did I manage to reach the qualifying standard for these Championships. Nonetheless, I remained confident and trusted my coach. I was expecting to have to go through another attempt to make it through to the final, but I 'm glad 5.20m was enough today. Eventhough I can't be sure I will be able to jump 5.20 or 5.25 in the final, I hope I can jump higher than that - eveytime I step on the track, my goal is always to set a PB, and to be able to represent Portugal at the highest level. 08/07/2021 15:25 GUTTORMSEN Sondre (NOR) Pole Vault Men Final - Bronze 5.60 I am satisfied with how I was jumping, I was jumping really high but obviously I am happy with the third place but I think I definetely had a shot for gold and that was my goal for this comptition. Yeah, it was really close but the other guys were good and put up a good fight. I definetely saved the best for Tokyo. My season overall has been going really well, obviously I would like to jump higher but a medal is always a good thing. 10/07/2021 21:35

KARALIS Emmanouil (GRE) Pole Vault Men Final - Silver 5.65 It was a bit tactical game for me tonight. I am still recovering after injury so I was missing a few steps in the run up. I had twisted ankle in January and lost 2.5 months of training. But I am OK now. I am glad for the medal as it is my second in this category. I think I am only the second Greek in the history to win two of these medals in U23. The pole vault is just crazy nowadays. The guys jump so high. It is so exciting but also we are a bit unlucky because of this. But it is a big motivation. Now, road to Tokyo. 10/07/2021 21:42 CORMONT Ethan (FRA) Pole Vault Men Final - Gold 5.80 =PB The competition was a little complicated for me today. I had some trouble going over 5.70, and after that, it didn't get any easy. I managed to jump 5.80, and take the win, but I'm more focused in going to Tokyo now. I would like to make the final there. The world field has been so strong this year, so it's a big achievement for me to get to the final there. Stopping at 5 .80 - which is a new PB - was a smart choice because with the Olympics coming up, I need to be stronger. After the qualification, I spent 5 hours in anti doping control, and that is a long time. I need to recover, because I am still tired. 10/07/2021 21:44 GUERRA Jaime (ESP) Men Qualification Group A - Winner 7.96 PB Q It is a huge personal best so big success for me. I am going to give everything in the final. Now, I got so close to the 8m, I know I can do it. I will give all my energy. You know, I am a triple jumper. But I had some injuries on my knee so I could not do it this season. So I tried long jump, started to practice and here I am. But next season, I come back to the triple jump. It is my priority. 08/07/2021 19:58 FLÅTNES Henrik (NOR) Long Jump Men Final - Silver 7.95 =NU23R I was working to get this medal for so many years but some championships in the past did not go well. Finally, it is here. I was ready to win this medal and it is a dream come true for me. 09/07/2021 21:25 EHAMMER Simon (SUI) Long Jump Men Final - Gold 8.10 SB My plan coming here was to do my best, and I really hoped for a new personal best but in these conditions, it was really hard . I'm happy with it though. I had an injury after Torun, so I had to take a break for a few months to physicallly recover. As the injury lasted longer than expected, we deciced to focus in the Long Jump. This means a lot more than just a gold medal. I missed a medal in Torun, then, I had some misfortunes after that, and didn't make it to Tokyo so this now feels so much more - it's really good. 09/07/2021 21:26

LINKOV Boris (BUL) Long Jump Men Final - Bronze 7.84 My plan today was just to perform the best way I could. This season, everything was about this competition. So I am glad to win a medal. I have to thank my coach, my family and my clos friend who supported me. 09/07/2021 21:27 GOGOIS Anael-Thomas (FRA) Triple Jump Men Qualification Group A - Winner 16.47 Q I'm not going to say this was easy. You got a jump to be done, and I made it. I'm quite happy with fighting a place for myself. Now, I just have to wait for the final. I think it makes a point to qualify first, with a better mark than everybody, but, you know, in the final everything is going to be on the line. I'm happy, but I'm still greedy. 10/07/2021 13:14 DALLAVALLE Andrea (ITA) Triple Jump Men Qualification Group B - Winner 16.47 Q It was my main focus today to jump over 16.30 so I am glad I managed it with just one jump. It is going to be a hard competition in the final because the French guys are very strong, like every year. The weather should be a bit cooler tomorrow so it will be better for us. But I am happy for this sun because we saw some rain and now it is very nice outside. I feel good in Tallinn - even the food is very good. And when Italian says the food is good, it means it is really good (smile). 10/07/2021 13:27 HODEBAR Enzo (FRA) Triple Jump Men Final - Silver 16.99 PB I woke up late today but I came on time and I was ready for this competition. My jumps were technically OK because I managed to improve a personal record. I am proud of what I did today. It was not easy because the wind was very annoying. First, it was in my back, then in my face, changing all the time. Now, I will have vacation for one month - I am going back home which is Guadaloupe, French Carribean, which is a great place to stay. It is a little island, so we are quite isolated and it is good to stay there. 11/07/2021 12:52 GOGOIS Anael-Thomas (FRA) Triple Jump Men Final - Bronze 16.65 I really appreciate this bronze medal. Of course, I came here to take gold ut when this happened, I am still happy for a medal. It shows how well I progress in this event. In my career, want to break it all - the records, the barriers and also to win medals. I do not think there are any limits when you want to become the best. Anything is possible. The competition was very difficult today - the head wind. I tried to fix my runway to be better on the board. During the 4-5th attempt, I was already so tired that I told myself 'How can I go again'. I will have 3 weeks of holiday now and I will watch the Olympic Games for sure. Then back to work to get way better. 11/07/2021 12:58

DALLAVALLE Andrea (ITA) Triple Jump Men Final - Gold 17.05 Getting a gold medal was almost a tabu, because I always get silver or bronze. It was a tough competition today, I can't deny it - the French jumpers really made me sweat. Enzo [HODEBAR] had a good first attempt, he jumped a good distance , but his second attempt was superb at 16.99 metres. This unsettled me a bit, because I didn't really expect this. I had to confirm my stability with the third jump, which confirmed the gold medal with that measurement. I felt very strong and confident, and wanted to enjoy the competition. The one worry was the wind, but in the end what I achieved today is the result of hard work - thank you Daniele and Nicola who have always been there for me, this is amazing. When you wear the blue bib [World Leader] it's always more pressure. In the first attempt, I felt the responsibility of having to perform better than the rest of the field. I'm very hopeful for my performance at the Olympics, and I have no words to describe how happy I am. It's amazing, I can't wait to sing our national anthem. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I reached my first podium in 2015, and two years ago I finished 3rd in Gavle, so I had hopes this would happen. 11/07/2021 13:17 KARPUK Dzmitry (BLR) Men Qualification Group A - Winner 19.28 Q I have to say I am glad for this performance because it was exactly what I needed to get to the final. I did not put all my power in it because I want to show it in the final. All is fine here, the circle is good, atmosphere is OK and the weather was also fine despite the fact that it was cooler than yesterday. I am hoping for good throws in the final. 08/07/2021 05:27 KARPUK Dzmitry (BLR) Shot Put Men Final - Gold 20.33 I did my job. My feelings are mixed because I really wanted to achieve a new personal best. But on the other hand, I won and it is my first big European medal. The result should have been better. But that is life. Everything was going well here and I have to thank to my coach and my family for the support. I already got used to this situation in the world with all the covid tests and restrictions. I saw it first time in Torun and now I take it automatically. We have a good team here supporting each other. We are friends and I will also come to the stadium tomorrow to support my team mates. 08/07/2021 20:44 MOUZENIDIS Odysseas (GRE) Shot Put Men Final - Bronze 19.41 I'm very happy with this winning a bronze medal. All year long, it's been very hard to train because of COVID-19. So, I really need to say thank you to my big team in Greece for supporting me. Also, a big thanks to my sponsor - Big Wings - and to my coach, my family and friends. I think Greece has chances of winning more medals at these Championships - we have a group of young athletes who keep getting better and better. 08/07/2021 20:46

CEH Kristjan (SLO) Men Qualification Group A - Winner 65.59 CR Q I am always a bit nervous before each competition, it is stressful. I was a bit in a hurry and the first attempt did not go technically well. I had to get relaxed before the second throw and it went well. I feel 100 percent ready. But even the second throw was a bit in a hurry so I am glad I managed it. I enjoy beeing here, I do not feel any pressure. I came here to show some good throws so we will see in the final. The most important this season is Tokyo for sure but this championships is the second most important for me. 08/07/2021 16:55 CEH Kristjan (SLO) Discus Throw Men Qualification Group A - Winner 65.59 CR Q ''You managed to throw a record in qualifications - what are your emotions about the competitions?'' Competitions are always stressful, I gave my best. I rushed the second one but I am really satisfied and happy with the results. It is important for me to have made the new record. 08/07/2021 17:04 SOTERO Yasiel (ESP) Discus Throw Men Final - Bronze 58.07 To be honest, I was under the impression the last throw was a bit longer, and I could have reached the silver medal position, but it is what it is. Not much I can do, just have wait for what is coming next for me. I need to rest a bit and switch myself off , but it's all good. 10/07/2021 20:45 BAHUTSKI Yauheni (BLR) Discus Throw Men Final - Silver 61.21 I was expecting a bit better perfromance and better throws. Of course, I am satisfied with my silver because Ceh is going to win the Olympics. He is the best now, no doubts. But I am also hoping for some improvement in Tokyo what is my main target this season. Everything was great here - the atmosphere, the sector, the crowd, I liked it. I was just missing one good throw. But it is a good stepping stone and now I am heading back home to get ready for the big fight again. 10/07/2021 21:00 CEH Kristjan (SLO) Discus Throw Men Final - Gold 67.48 CR It was a great competition, and the first throw was already 67 metres. I tried to do more , but I was a little too fast and couldn 't handle it. I'm happy with the championship record, happy with the results, happy with the competition - and become the U23 European Champion, so it's been a great competition. 10/07/2021 22:00

KOKHAN Mykhaylo (UKR) Hammer Throw Men Qualification Group A - Winner 74.07 Q This wasn't an easy qualification, because I only threw 74 meters. Coming here [after finishing 5th at the World Championships in Doha] is always a good experience, and it will be a good preparation for the Olympic Games. For the final, I'm not sure I will be throwing 80 meters, but I will do my best. I have strong competition from other athletes who are able to throw as further as me. 08/07/2021 14:04 FRANTZESKAKIS Christos (GRE) Hammer Throw Men Final - Silver 75.23 I am not upset because I did not win the gold medal but I am a bit disappointed that I did not show what is in me. I know I can throw much better and that was the most important thing for me. I had no injuries this year, all season is going very well . So I hope that I can show something in Tokyo. I think I am going to close my season after Olympics because I have to do one month of obligatory army camp. But then I start the preparation in the training camp on Cyprus. And the next year will be mine. 09/07/2021 19:05 KOKHAN Mykhaylo (UKR) Hammer Throw Men Final - Gold 77.88 Today, it was very hard for me to compete - I don't know why, because I think yesterday I had a small training session, and it was a little hard for me. The circle felt a little slow, and I wasn't fast, maybe because of this - but I'm happy with this result , and happy to win this competition. [About other athletes being able to snatch the gold medal off him]. Of course, Christos FRANTZESKAKIS and Ragnar CARLSSON are very strong guys, and they showed a good result - I think! Because Christos is also going to the Olympics, I think he had been preparing for Tokyo. My expectations for the Olympics is to show my good results, not any less than that - I hope! I would like to reach the final, and then, how far I can throw. 09/07/2021 19:07 CARLSSON Ragnar (SWE) Hammer Throw Men Final - Bronze 73.85 It went well. I am really happy that I got a bronze medal. I did not happen to meet my expectations in results-wise but the important thing is still the place. I am superhappy with 3rd place so I think I still did quite well and met my hopes. There are a couple of competitions left in this season. Unfortunately, I am not going to Tokyo, which kind of sucks but life goes on. There is The National Championships where Sweden meets Finland match, which is in the beginning of September. So these are the big competitions left. I'll have some pretty good memories of this event here. 09/07/2021 19:11 WEGNER Dawid (POL) Men Qualification Group A - Winner 76.79 =SB I came here well prepared and planned to throw the qualification limit with the first attempt. I wanted to have a free mind and to focus on the final. But it happened this way and I am OK with it. The conditions are OK, we only had some wind from the beginning but it did not affect the throws. I feel well in Tallinn and my body is ready to throw far. 09/07/2021 10:12

RAMOS Leandro (POR) Javelin Throw Men Qualification Group A - Third 75.50 Despite not reaching the final qualification standard, I think this morning went ok. I think my mark should be enough to qualify for the final, or at least I hope so. My legs felt a bit weak, and that's very important. I think the final will be very exciting, and I have high hopes for it. I prefer qualification to last longer - I don't often train in the morning, mostly in the afternoon, so an evening competiion is an advantage for me. Let's see what happens. 09/07/2021 10:15 LAINE Topias (FIN) Javelin Throw Men Qualification Group B - Winner 80.67 Q I did not expect the first throw to fly so far but it was a good one. I did not feel the wind and I think the weather was good here. I had a good preparation and training in Finland and I came here with the aim to win a medal. I think we will see a couple of long throws over 80m in the final. I just hope I will add some more. After this championships, I have the nationals in the schedule. 09/07/2021 10:59 TUPAIA Teura'itera'i (FRA) Javelin Throw Men Qualification Group B - Fourth 74.77 Qualification was fine, and I made the decision of skip the last throw. I'm not really sure what to expect for the final. 09/07/2021 11:05 LAINE Topias (FIN) Javelin Throw Men Final - Gold 81.67 EU23L Everything went as I wanted - from the qualification, where I won, until the final, the gold medal and the new PB. This competition felt almost like at home because it is so close to Finland. My family came here to support me and I appreciate it a lot. But the next U23 championships is in Finland and that will be the real home competition. The first two throws were technically not very good because they flew a bit too high because of the head wind. But then the 80m throw from Ramos was like a wake up call. I had to respond on that nad I am glad I managed it well. For the future, I need to improve in all aspects. I enjoyed the event here and thanks to the fans and nice atmosphere it was unfogettable. 11/07/2021 20:26 RAMOS Leandro (POR) Javelin Throw Men Final - Silver 80.61 The weather conditons here today weren't great, and there was a lot of tail wind. When you win a medal, you can't really complain - the other who also won are long time friends, both in and out of these major competitions, so there's a really good atmosphere. It was top notch, really really good. The idea was to enjoy the competition more, I tried to focus on that rather than the competition in itself. The last throw, I just went for it to ensure I would be in the top 8 - after that, it was just a matter of enjoying myself. It's great [that Portugal takes 3 medals home], we're not used to it, and considering it's coming from such young athletes, it's fantastic. 11/07/2021 21:00

BECHMANN Andreas (GER) Men - Winner 4447 What can I say about the first day. I think the field is so scattered here, that there is nobody without a bad event today. I am happy for what I did today but I just need to stay injury free tomorrow. I have to say I must continue without risking my health in long term. Or I would not hesitate to quit the competition. Funny thing is that if I win this championships, I will go to Tokyo with still blond hair. The 100m were OK, just done. But most of the decathletes say this after the sprints. I felt a bit sleepy, I was not there. But then, during the long jump, I was awaken. Then, I found a new love - the shot put. In Torun, I was reaching around 13.80, but here, even the bad attempts were constantly getting to 15m. The high jump was hard. I was thinking also about quiting after the event. But I know I showed the potential that when I am not injured, I can do 8500. 10/07/2021 22:03 ROOSEN Sven (NED) Decathlon Men - Silver 8056 PB I am really happy to come away with a second place. I scored a new PB, a big PB, and I came in second, so yeah, I am really happy. I didn`t expect to come this high. Coming here, I hoped for a medal but the other contestants were really strong and therefore I am so happy that I have won a medal. It is my second international championship medal after the Golden IAAF League in the 400m hurdles. So yeah, winning a medal in the decathlon is just amazing. 11/07/2021 20:25 BECHMANN Andreas (GER) Decathlon Men - Gold 8142 EU23L Today, it was more like a fight with myself. I tried to sustain the whole competition, my foot... And despite the fact that I was thinking about quitting in some moments, I am glad I managed it until the end and that I even won it. I tried my best in every event and just continued step by step. The third attempt in the long jump was just so close to the board, it was crazy. High jump was maybe the worst and we did not want to risk the foot injury and preferred to finish the decathlon. I have this bet with Kai Kazmirek about him competing blond in Tokyo if I won. So I hope he will keep the word. It was a good motivator. Next year, we have the European champs in Munich, in the memorial arena so I will try my best. They say 22 is the best age for a decathlete so we will se how it goes. 11/07/2021 20:32

ROOTH Markus (NOR) Decathlon Men - Bronze 7967 NU23R I think I'm a second day guy! It's been unreal, even more unreal than last time. I feel like in Boras [in 2019] I had a lot of PBs on day one as well, but this time, I didn't. I was off to a rough start, I was like 10th place after the hurdles - I just battled one event at a time, and ended up in 3rd place, which of me is kind of unreal. I had PBs in almost event, some Season Best, on day two, so I'm super happy. I feel like the bronze medal two years ago was a bit of a surprise. This time, I was a bit more recognised - I think - at the starting line, but with the rough start [yesterday] I thought I wwas almost out of the medals contention after afther the first 5 events. I felt I put a bit more pressure on myself compared to the junior Championships. You never know what you can do in the first events, but I have a great coach who helps me see through the not so bad events, but the ones I'm worse at, and that kept going - this led to a great Decathlon. 11/07/2021 20:47 PÉREZ José Manuel (ESP) 20km Race Walk Men Final - Gold 1:25:06 European Champion! I really can't believe it - I'm dreaming. It's been a really tough year, both in terms of training and competition, but I was adamant that I wanted I wanted to lead this race. It was a tought circuit, the weather is very warm and humid, and, on top of that, the other athletes didn't make it easy for me either. Now, I want to enjoy this feeling and thank you everyone for the support. Thank you to my coach and to my family, and to everyone that made this possible. This medal is for you. 09/07/2021 18:44 COSI Andrea (ITA) 20km Race Walk Men Final - Bronze 1:26:05 It was a tough competition, very hot and humid. Two red cards after 15Km, so I was a bit worried. Finally, I get a medal, after coming 4th in Boras [U20 European Championships in 2019]. I'm from Florence and I usually train at the stadium where the Diamong League Meeting took place this year. 09/07/2021 21:50 GERMANY (GER) 4 x 100m Relay Men Final - Gold 38.70 EU23R [HARTMANN]It is really great to run a national record here, I don`t really know what to say; we saw the heat, we saw everything that was possible so yeah, it was really great to run that here. [BRANDNER]It was amazing. Incredible stadium, amazing audience. I am just so happy to shift this record. Unbelievable! [WOLF]It`s great, the guys were great. Absolutely perfct ending to these Championships. 11/07/2021 19:40

SPAIN (ESP) 4 x 100m Relay Men Final - Silver 39.00 Arnau MONNE - We knew we could fight for one of the medals, even going for gold, but the Germans made it very difficult for us. But we also did a good race with a personal best, so we are very proyud of this team - now we want to enjoy it.

Jesus GOMEZ - The truth is it was a beautiful race. We have good comraderie between us because we've known each other for 5-6 years, and that shows in a relay. After all, it's a team effort. It was a great race, and yes, the Germans made it hard for us but we're really happy.

Pol RETAMAL - Adding to what my team mates said, we've known for 6 years now, and we have a huge cumplicity amongst us. We know what each one of us does and is capable of. We came here strong and were able to demonstrate it, and it worked for us here. We're very happy.

Sergio LOPEZ - I add to what they said, and I want to reinforce the fact that within Spanish Athletics, both the sprinters and hurdlers are showing a lot of progress - especially because Spain is traditionally known for middle distance disciplines - it's crazy, and in a few years, like in 3 years time, we could really see biggers results. This is probably Spain's best set of results in the age category championships. 11/07/2021 19:52 UKRAINE (UKR) 4 x 100m Relay Men Final - Bronze 39.45 Vasyliev Andrii: Coming to this event, we knew we were not among the top countries to win a medal in the relay so we did not expect much. But we needed to stay focused and everything worked so well in the end that we were so happy to win a medal. We trained together three months in Turkey and this training cam helped us. It was hard, but we realized that nothing is impossible. We just regret we did not make it to the Olympics but this is a different story. We have to say thank you to our coach Bryzgin Viktor for his work and also to our personal coaches. Our families were supporting us at home in front of the TVs. 11/07/2021 20:49 FRANCE (FRA) 4 x 400m Relay Men Final - Gold 3:05.01 EU23L Ludovic OUCENI - It was a really tough, with a lot of pushing and shoving. Not easy at all.

Teo ANDANT - Yes, it was a very tough and close race. We knew the Dutch guy had pushed someone, and finally their team was disqualified. We get the win, so we are very happy because that was our main goal for this event. The French guys in the stand could be disqualified, and eventually they were. 11/07/2021 20:34

ITALY (ITA) 4 x 400m Relay Men Final - Silver 3:06.07 Sibilio Alessandro: In the finish, we were quite unsure about the results because there was something going on with the disqualifications. We wanted to be sure about our placement and we rather waited with celebration. In relays, anything can happen. My role was to bring the team safely to the finish and fight for the best metal. I tried to reach for a medal and I managed. Of course, after all the heats and races I had, I felt a bit tired but I love my country so I did all possible for the team. I did not think about anything during the race, just pushed it to the very end. 11/07/2021 20:37 FONTANA Vittoria (ITA) 100m Women Round 1 Heat 1/5 - Winner 11.44 Q I'm so happy, and I want to reach a medal position. I feel good about the time I've just run, especially with this weather, so I hope I will be able to perform in the semi finals and also in the final. [Due to the competition being interruped] I knew I how important it is to stay focused, and to avoid any distractions under these weather conditions. Cominh here, I was a little nervous when I saw the star lists with so many athletes with times very close to each other. I wanted to come out here and execute, so I could reach the semi finals. Luxembourg is quite a small country, and coming here to represent my country is always a great pleasure. I think that if somebody from the country competes well, everyone is super proud, and it can be a motivation for other younger people. 08/07/2021 13:25 KADEN Lilly (GER) 100m Women Semi-Final 3/3 - Winner 11.28 PB Q This event is like a peak of the season for me. I had a difficult year. I got injured last October - I fell from a horse and broke my elbow. I lost two months of the training but started to prepare in December. Then, I had the next operation in April but lost ony two weeks of the training. This track is fast enough so who knows what to expect later in the final. 08/07/2021 20:58

KADEN Lilly (GER) 100m Women Final - Gold 11.36 It is like my dream came true. Everything went well today and I am so excited to win. The time is not important to me, the gold medal is the main thing. I think I deserve a nice small celebration today with some good dinner, cake, and then I will get ready for the relay. My family is coming here today but I think I will see them at the stadium only during the relays. But I am happy they are coming. Also my team here i great and we are all good friends, I love them all. I have a meeting in Switzerland in my schedule in August which should be the peak of my season and then I will get some rest. Maybe I will get back to the 200m. I will see. 09/07/2021 21:00 AWUAH Kristal (GBR) 100m Women Final - Bronze 11.44 I am not happy about my race. I was too tired, but maybe it was the best of the day. Congratulations to the ladies who were the best. I never come to a competition underestimating the other girls, but I will take the learnings from this race and take it to my next race or next couple of races. Honestly, I can do more of that. Coming to the start, I felt strong. I thought I was still able to get that but it was not enough for the gold. But eventhough, I can be happy. 09/07/2021 21:13 ROSIUS Rani (BEL) 100m Women Final - Silver 11.43 It was really hard to find my focus again [after the semis]. I only slept 6h because I was so hyped. My head was not in the right place, it was full with emotions, so it was very hard to find my concentration again - the second start, and the gun didn't help - I was already not focused, but it was a good race anyway. My coach is always very composed - We have a very good friendship. He's more than just my coach, he's a really really good friend, The bond is so strong - he's my first athletics coach and he will be very proud of me. Throughout the race, I felt very comfortable, and managed to stay strong and focused through the end, almost running my PB. Let's see what happens tomorrow - my goal is to run under 53s, close to 52s. VONDROVÁ Lada (CZE) 400m Women Final - Gold 51.19 PB It was a great run and I was focusing on the time from the start to the finish. But I would lie if I said I did not want to win. But the time is just great. I think this hot weather is just better for sprints despite the fact that it was hard. This is a dream - I think we moved the 400m running in the Czech Republic forward. I am very glad I have the chance to run with and against her because Barbora is a great runner. I expected that it will be a battle of the two of us. Maybe I was just more lucky today because I think we are on the same level at the moment. This is a great stepping stone toward Tokyo because I showed I am able to run fast times. And maybe I can even show something more at the Olympics. 10/07/2021 18:39 MALÍKOVÁ Barbora (CZE) 400m Women Final - Silver 51.23 =PB I feel exhausted now. I think I have never had such a challenging program with the three 400m in a row. And the heat in the final was also a big factor. But we definitelly pushed each other with Lada. I managed to equal my PB but I am a bit upset because I wanted to improve a bit. At least, it shows me I am in a stabile shape and I can built on it. We are both young and fast - I think we are on the same level at the moment so we can show something spectacular in the future. Today, it was more about the head than the body. 10/07/2021 18:42 LEMMENS Silke (SUI) 400m Women Final - Bronze 52.09 NU23R I don't really know that much how the race went I just know that it went very fast and I normally start very fast as well. So I don't know if I was going too slow, because I switched to the 400m last year and I try to get used to it. I think I was running my own race, kept fighting and suddenly I was 5th from the pack by the one hundred meter mark and I just pulled my arms and kept on pushing forward. When the last meters were approaching, I simply just threw myself over the finishline and became third with a new PB. This made me really happy. In the beginning of May we had the world relay championships and I was not really in a shape then. I had an injury in May as well when I had a lot of competitions and kept on focusing on others instead of myself. I knew I was in a good shape after the injury, I was running PBs in training all the time, but just couldn't put it into the competitions yet. In the heats I already ran the national record so it increased my confidence, but then this time right now I improved my record again. I guess I need to work on my endurance to get even better. Tokyo is waiting and I will compete in relay race there. 10/07/2021 20:20 GARCÍA Daniela (ESP) 800m Women Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Second 2:04.25 Q [Despite being only 19 years old] These are my third European Championships, and to be honest, one could say I have a much more mature attitude than what would be expected of someone my age. I had to run from the front because it makes me feel I'm more in control of the pace, so today I had take that on. Mentally, I feel very prepared to face these championships and I think I've just proved that to myself. 08/07/2021 18:18

WESTLING Viola (FIN) 800m Women Round 1 Heat 1/3 - Third 2:04.81 PB I am very happy with how I started but then in around 200m two girls got in front of me and I was not able to get out of that situation. However, I think it is fantastic that I can be here. Everything is very well organized here. I feel grateful. 08/07/2021 19:53 BOFFEY Isabelle (GBR) 800m Women Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Winner 2:04.05 Q I went through a decent heat and I felt good. I wanted to win it, and to make sure I took one of those two spots to the final. It 's nice to have a day in between, it's usually the heats and the finals - I'm quite excited to be honest. I'll be running in the evening again, it should be quite nice. 08/07/2021 18:29 GAJANOVÁ Gabriela (SVK) 800m Women Round 1 Heat 2/3 - Third 2:04.50 The whole run was not OK for me. My legs felt really heavy and tough. I wanted to push it to the finish and hoped for the qualification with the time. Unfortunatelly, it did not work this time but I hope I can improve towards Olympics. 08/07/2021 18:48 SCLABAS Delia (SUI) 800m Women Round 1 Heat 3/3 - Winner 2:03.83 Q I think it's less pressure because this time I'm not the favourite in the 800 metres. This year, I'm only going to run the 800 because I could go to the Olympics - it's a dream coming true, and that's why I'm not doing both. Usually, I would like to also run the . I qualified for the Olympics through the world ranking - not the olympic standard, that would have definitely been great, but it's quite fast. For sure, this is going to a good preparation because some of the girls here are also going to the Olympics, and they also had Olympic Trials - so they're running at a really good at standard. We're really close toghether, so it's going to be tough. 08/07/2021 18:53 COIRO Eloisa (ITA) 800m Women Final - Silver 2:02.07 PB I am very happy for my performance here because it was not an easy one. The pace was very fast so the times were really good in the finish. I just tried to stay in the middle of the group, did not want to lose them. I was very determined and just started to sprint in the last meters. I really do not remember much from the race. I prepared in Rome and this result is a big revange for the problems I had in the past year. I had a foot injury and I am glad I managed to come back on this stage. For now, this is the peak of my season and I am looking forward to the next. 10/07/2021 19:09

BOFFEY Isabelle (GBR) 800m Women Final - Gold 2:01.80 I am buzzing! I think I showed it as I was crossing the line, I'm beyond happy. I have been running around 2:01.00 quite a few times this season, and you know, I wanted to bring my best to these Champs. Well, I raced a lot of these girls before, we sort of grew up through the Championships before -especially from the U20s two years ago. I trusted my plan. My coach and I had a plan coming in, and I knew it if I stick to my plan, I could secure the gold. I definitely want to get into some quick races, really try and get that PB down. There's a lot of chance next year in secure one of those times for major Championships. I think the calibre of the girls in the UK is just ridiculous. Our British Champs was unbelievably quick, unbelievably amazing - even just last night Laure [MUIR] and Jemma [Reekie] 0 1:56.00 which is completely insane. You know, I just have to train hard enough to be at that level at our National Championships. If I look at the qualification times next year, and the Commonwealth Games, it's two flat point 5 [2:00.50] , and ideally, that's what I want to hit the mark on still this season or early next season. I've actualy came through the age Champs, and I've got youth and junior gold, so I just have to add this one to the collection. 10/07/2021 19:18 NIELSEN Wilma (SWE) 800m Women Final - Bronze 2:02.29 PB It was a really hot day today, so 15 min before the race I did the cold bath and it just gave me a good feeling to get going. I had a good start and was going at a pretty good pace, but then I saw the girls kicking in with me on the left. And then I felt very fresh and started to push more out of myself. I felt very strong in the last 200m. I managed to pass one girl and just felt really good. Happy I didn't reckon anyone else adjacent. There are not going to be any further competitions for me this season. I was in the US at the National's. Was a very similar competition like the one today. I think the EU23 remains my last competition in this season, so yeah, it was a good competition. This year I have lowered my personal record unfortunately but I will try to improve this situation. 10/07/2021 19:37 KAZIMIERSKA Klaudia (POL) 1500m Women Round 1 Heat 1/2 - Winner 4:17.23 Q This season is very difficult for me so I am very glad to compete here and to win this heat. Because I did not make it to Tokyo, I can say this is a peak of my season. I went for the high altitude training camp in Kenya this spring for the first time in my career and it was very difficult. Also, I study mathematics so it was very hard to combine the training and the study. But I definitely want to attack the front positions in the final and this final will be my main goal. I was third in 2018 in junior category so I want to come back on the podium. 09/07/2021 11:46 SABBATINI Gaia (ITA) 1500m Women Round 1 Heat 2/2 - Second 4:15.77 Q [In regards to coming here as the European Lead] It's a little pressure because I'm here for the team, so I want to honour our national squad. I had race under control, it was quite relaxed - this was enoough for me - especially because we have the final in a couple of days. 09/07/2021 11:54

In the last 500m I was like, I just need to go to the end andthe Italian was so fast! But I am really so so glad to get a medal. It has been a hard season so I am really really happy. As I got close to the finish line, I thought I could be the third and I was, so I am really happy. 10/07/2021 17:33 ZENONI Marta (ITA) 1500m Women Final - Silver 4:14.50 I'm very happy because I just came back from a very challenging time in my career, and only had 3 months to prepare this competition. I arrived here with some expectations, because I still out the work in. During the race I felt strong and wanted to get myself in a favourable position in the pack. With this I am extremely happy, not just for me, but also for Italy. With one lap to go, I felt I still had some energy left but didn't want to be too complacebet, so I decided to go for it. 11/07/2021 17:31 SABBATINI Gaia (ITA) 1500m Women Final - Gold 4:13.98 I worked so hard to win this title and it was generally very tough to win it. Now I can look forward to Tokyo. For me, it is a special moment that there will be two Italian athletes standing on the podium. I think it is always a moment to remmber. My plan from the start of the race was to stay behind because of the wind and then my coach told me to attack in the last 200m. I think I managed it just like he said. We have a great team here and it is the best motivation for me. 11/07/2021 18:22 WALLACE Erin (GBR) 1500m Women Final - Bronze 4:14.85 That was such a tight finish, honestly, I thought I was not going to make it till the end so I just like threw myself over the finish line.Overall, I thnk I handeled the race quite well. LUKAN Klara (SLO) 5000m Women Final - Second 15:44.00 I am very pleased I managed to win another big medal as we switched the positions with Nadia Battocletti from two years ago at the U20 championships. This is a great stepping stone in my career and a good progress of my perfomance. Only two days ago, I was confirmed for the 5000m in Tokyo. So the next big challenge is ahead of me and I am looking forward so much. I know it is going to be very tough but I will try my best. I am very grateful that my parents are both here the whole week. They came here to support me and we will go home together and will spend some time before I need to get back to work for Tokyo. I study biotechnology in Ljubljana so I do not come home very often. 11/07/2021 18:40 VAN ES Diane (NED) 5000m Women Final - Third 15:48.4- The race was okay but I was planning to be a little bit faster but I am not very disappointed. But being the number 1 will be the goal. The next big goal will be qualifying for the finals in the Olympics and yeah that kind of a race [5000m] is a good way to train for the Olympics. I have been training hard so I hope since this competition was hard, that it gave me a good training for my next big goal. 11/07/2021 18:41 BATTOCLETTI Nadia (ITA) 5000m Women Final - Gold 15:37.4- I really enjoyed myself here, so thank you everyone. We had an issue with the power cut which delayed the start of the race, but we all stayed together as group supporting each other. We weren't just opponents, we also helped each other dealing with this before the race when we were all a little worried. The winning was important, and I am very pleased. We have an amazing team here. I made good progress with my time in this distance, and I have to be grateful to my family who is always there for me. Also, all the medical staff, especially my physio and Paolo - and my training group at Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Azzurre, we have achieved great things. Yes, it's always surprise when people realise my coach is also my dad. The field here was very strong, and some of them have made a great progression from U20. I didn't feel the pressure - I came here to run a good race, also because Klara LUKAN and [Diane] VAN ES were here, and they are very strong. I don't know, I just follow my passion and my instinct. Both my parents were runners, so I guess I get my inspiration from them. 11/07/2021 18:47 ARNAUDO Anna (ITA) 10,000m Women Final - Silver 32:36.98 NU23R Actually, I was hoping to come here and run a time like this but it was difficult because my previous PB was about 30 seconds slower - it's quite a lot. Probably, I ran without thinking - it's a surprise for me, but I'm really really happy. Actually, I came into this competetition with the idea of finishing in one of the top 3 positions. If I have to be honest, I tried to win but [Jasmine] LAU, at some point, started to go really fast, and my legs weren't able to keep up with her. I think this is because it's been a long season, so now I will try to rest. It was better to win a goldmedal - and it's a medal at an European Championships - and it is also my first medal at an international level, so I couldn't ask for more. 09/07/2021 20:28

LAU Jasmijn (NED) 10,000m Women Final - Gold 32:30.49 EU23L This was really a stressfull competition for me because the pace was so slow from the start. I wanted to push the pace a bit but I did not want to lead the field. I expected everybody to sprint in the last metres. The pace kept switching all the time. But I trusted in my sprint abilities in the finish and it worked out well. I was over the moon to get this victory because I have my mother and my brother came here to support me and they are now sitting on the tribune. Now, I will get a small break and then I will have some road races and cross country. I missed these competitions so much druing the covid times. 09/07/2021 21:07 OED Lisa (GER) 10,000m Women Final - Bronze 33:35.99 PB I think the race was a really good one at the beginning. We went on quite slowly. I was a little exhausted at the beginning and it took me some laps to get into the race, but after that I was feeling just supergood. My legs felt so well and every lap that passed I knew that I still had something left in my legs. I am supersatisfied with the place. Like in the list, I think I was on the 11th place before, which is like very far from the medals. But then the coach just told me that we were getting closer and closer to the bronze medal.. So yeah, that was my goal, which thankfully got fulfilled. That's why I am supersurprised and very happy. 09/07/2021 21:19 RENOUARD Flavie (FRA) 3000m Steeplechase Women Round 1 Heat 1/2 - Winner 10:04.44 Q At the beginning of the race I felt a bit uneasy. However, it changed during the race, when I decided to increase the pace gradually and maintain it as well as I possibly could. The weather is great, so is everyone in the audience- nice and supportive. I feel grateful! 08/07/2021 17:44 PALOU Claire (FRA) 3000m Steeplechase Women Round 1 Heat 2/2 - Winner 10:03.89 Q I did exactly what my coach planned. I did not want to lead the race, I wanted to stay in back and to secure the place in the finish. I am not sure about the plan for the final yet but I think I will stay in the group and to push in the last kilometre. The conditions were very good here because it was raining before and the air was fresh. It was not too difficult for me to come because the restrictions are not so strict here. But my family had to stay home because it was too complicated for them to come due to all the covid restrictions. Otherwise, they would be here. 08/07/2021 17:27

KRÓLIK Kinga (POL) 3000m Steeplechase Women Final - Silver 9:52.59 I am very excited because this is my first major international final I have ever run and it is a medal. I cannot believe I managed it. Last two years, I was struggling in the training and I was ill. But now, my body is recovering and it brings the results. I have a new coach now, new trainig group, we went to Kenya for a training camp twice this year and all this helped me to achieve this medal. This is a peak of my season and I am looking forward to the holiday. But we will start training towards the new season soon. I wish I come back to Kenya because it is the best place to train for the runners. 10/07/2021 16:56 CLAVIER Aude (FRA) 3000m Steeplechase Women Final - Bronze 9:58.58 Having a strong French team helped with this result, because our French Championships had a very strong field - it was very difficult for me, and very good preparation for me. I believed I could win a medal, but it was more likea dream but now the dream is real. When the bell rang for the last lap, I was thinking I had to stay with the other girls, and when it became tough,I told myself it was tough for everyone else in the race. 10/07/2021 17:00 RENOUARD Flavie (FRA) 3000m Steeplechase Women Final - Gold 9:51.02 Really, the last meters were more like a mental race instead. I really wanted to give my best, to make magic happen, so to speak. However, it was still a very difficult one. Having received the gold, it speaks for itself and has definitely made my day. I went there to really give everything. I wasn't too stressed out because I knew it would be a big challenge to do great results . Suddenly, I was there with determination and grit winning a gold. I am ready to give my best in the further races. 10/07/2021 17:25 SKRZYSZOWSKA Pia (POL) 100m Hurdles Women Round 1 Heat 4/5 - Winner 13.13 Q I thin qualification was easy. The race wasn't perfect, but I'm happy that I made it to the semi final - but I hope it will be faster. The second fastest time in my heat was around 13.50, so I don't really have some to compete with in this race - I hope the semi final will be better. 09/07/2021 10:30 ŠTOLOVÁ Markéta (CZE) 100m Hurdles Women Semi-Final 2/3 - Second 13.42 Q It is very tiring for me to run against such a strong wind. I am very short so I have to fight with it until the very end. This year, I am not very lucky about the wind - almost every competition I had was affected by the strong wind. SAMBA-MAYELA Cyréna (FRA) 100m Hurdles Women Final - Silver 12.80 I hit some hurdles. I was unable to make a normal race today and I feel a bit disappointed to be honest. Regarding the preparation, my coach told me that I just had to do what I have been doing the whole year. I wish I was the first because I worked really hard for that, but anyway things like that happen. My next competition will be in Tokyo, so I will put my focus on that now. 10/07/2021 17:48 SKRZYSZOWSKA Pia (POL) 100m Hurdles Women Final - Gold 12.77 PB This season is going really well for me so far and I am happy for our Polish team that it will be me and Klaudia standing on the podium here in Tallinn. I am so proud of her because the time under 13 and the new PB is great. I did not have a perfect heat and did not feel it was technically good in the semifinal but I felt well prepared before the final and it all went well. But I hope I can go even faster in Tokyo. I also like the 100m so if the schedule is different and the flat 100m is first in the schedule, I would maybe even try for a double. Maybe at the next championships. 10/07/2021 18:02 WOJTUNIK Klaudia (POL) 100m Hurdles Women Final - Bronze 12.97 PB It is great we managed to hit the shape in the right moment. I have to thank my coach Blausz for preparing me for this event in the city of Lodz so well. She is not here with me so I have to call her now. I was so happy to reach the final and I did not expect anything like this - the time is amazing. It is my first major medal, first major achievement. Unlike Pia, I am not heading to Olympics, I have the Polish championships in my shcedule now and that is the end of the season. 10/07/2021 18:03 GIGER Yasmin (SUI) 400m Hurdles Women Round 1 Heat 1/5 - Winner 56.87 Q When it comes to the international competitions like this, I think the most important thing is to arrive on the place, to have a good feeling and to be healthy. You have to know that you are competing against the best athletes in this categry and you have to enjoy every moment. For me it is the last championships in this age group so I want to enjoy it. 08/07/2021 14:46 DIALLO Fatoumata Binta (POR) 400m Hurdles Women Round 1 Heat 1/5 - Fourth 59.60 Q This heat went well, I felt comfortable, and decided to not risk it too much so I could power through the home straight. My goal was to qualify for the next round, and I did it. Not everyone has the chance to come to these Championships, and I worked really hard to come out here - I was given this chance, and wasn't going to waste it. POLLOCK Zoe (GBR) 400m Hurdles Women Round 1 Heat 2/5 - Winner 57.17 PB Q I felt really good, quite relaxed on the home straight. I cannot ask for more. The delay was not too bad - I just started my warming up. There is nothing you can do about it. I am pleased about the PB and now I probably get my ice bath, some treatment, sleeping... I reckon. 08/07/2021 14:54 ZAPLETALOVÁ Emma (SVK) 400m Hurdles Women Round 1 Heat 4/5 - Winner 56.84 Q The main target for today was to secure the qualification and to spare some energy. I was running my own race until the 6th hurdle and then I just controlled the rest of the field. I usually do not feel wind while running but the track was quite fast. I know the semifinal will be harder so I need to discuss it with my coach. It is a part of the championships that the team supports you and it is a nice thing to cheer for your team mates. 08/07/2021 15:14 GIGER Yasmin (SUI) 400m Hurdles Women Semi-Final 1/3 - Winner 55.99 SB Q First of all, I am happy I made it to the final. It was my main aim at these championships because we are all on very good level. I did not focus on the final yet because I take it step by step. I will try my best in the final but first, I need to talk to my coach about the strategy. I prepared in Zurich for this season and I became a part of the OYM training centre which gave me brand new opportunities. 09/07/2021 15:35 GALLEGO Sara (ESP) 400m Hurdles Women Semi-Final 1/3 - Second 56.46 Q The truth is I knew Yasmin [GIGER] was going to run a very good race, because I've competed against her several times in the past - I know it's always a tough race. I felt very comfortable, eventhough the last few meters are always hard. With Yasmin next to me it is extra motivation, so now I have to focus on getting some rest this afternoon - and tomorrow I will try to finish in one of the top positions. I have a very stable pace, tends to be pretty set - always very strong, so I'm going to stick to it and see what happens. 09/07/2021 15:39 ZAPLETALOVÁ Emma (SVK) 400m Hurdles Women Semi-Final 2/3 - Winner 56.48 Q This time, my coach told me to run in full mode until the 8th hurdle and then to control the rest of the field. But comparing to the heats, I could not slow down too much in the finish. I guess, I will leave all of my power there on the track in the final. I am ready to show some nice time and I hope my team mates will cheer for me. 09/07/2021 15:52

To be honest, I am really pleased with this result. I had a really good race next to to the French girl [Camille SERI] side by side all the way through, pushing each other. Sara [GALLEGO] is a very good friend of mine, we have competed against each other many times before, so I'm sure we will be supporting each other in the final. I knew some of the girls were very strong, and I was fully aware some were stronger than me, but I had my own hopes. In the last I had to go it and it paid off for me in the end. 10/07/2021 16:36 ZAPLETALOVÁ Emma (SVK) 400m Hurdles Women Final - Gold 54.28 CR When I was coming to the start, I felt I can do something big and that I am ready to smash my personal best. But this time is a bit shocking for me. The title is just great and I cannot believe it was going so smooth. I was blessed I had a great support of the Slovak team in the stands and it also helped me a lot. These three days were very challenging for me - not physically but more mentally so I am glad it is now over and I can relax a bit and get ready for the Olympic Games. It is just a short time now before my departure to Tokyo so I need to find some time for the tune up and also some relax. But I am very grateful for this victory especially for all the athletic fans in Slovakia and my family. 10/07/2021 16:40

GIGER Yasmin (SUI) 400m Hurdles Women Final - Bronze 55.25 NU23R

I think it was a very competitive race and I am happy for all of us. A few girls did a new national record or a new personal best and I am super happy because preparation was really really hard and I was injured only a few weeks back so I am so grateful to recieve a medal. I really hope to be a part of tomorrows 4x400m Relay and to help our country go into the final. But the next really big thing will be the Tokyo Olympics and I am super excited for those. 10/07/2021 16:45 MAHUCHIKH Yaroslava (UKR) High Jump Women Qualification Group A - Second 1.82 q I am used to start the competition on the level of 189-185cm and I had to wait very long for my first jump here. Maybe I was too relaxed with the first attempt and did not have a good run up so it went wrong. But the second was good. I was expecting much worse weather - temperatures aroung 15 C, rain, so we had good conditions today. We had very rainy weather during all June in my home town in Dnipro so we trained also in rain and I should be ready for any conditions. It would not bother me too much. 08/07/2021 06:10 TURBAN Lilian (EST) High Jump Women Qualification Group B - Seventh 1.78 Everything is a bit bigger and awe-inspiring, in which case it should be more challenging to compete. However, the fact that the championships are held in Tallinn makes me more certain and supported. I feel grateful for the opportunity to be here. 08/07/2021 08:30 APOSTOLOVSKI Lia (SLO) High Jump Women Final - Bronze 1.89 =SB My coach was talking about I could possibly finish in 3rd place, because it was just the last attempt that counted - Karyna [DEMIDIK] was in 4th place. Yeah, I was just happy because I realised I found I had wond bronze medal. It's an honour that I won a medal for my country. It's also my first medal on the big stage, so I'm really happy. This season, I was aming to improve my PB from last year which uear 1.92 metres - which would be a new U23 National Record. High Jump is a techinical discipline, it's all about working on your technique and optimizing your approach for than extra centimeter which can make a difference. 10/07/2021 20:06

MAHUCHIKH Yaroslava (UKR) High Jump Women Final - Gold 2.00 CR Tallinn is my beloved city so I really wanted to compete here. I was here at the training camp in winter. In May, we decided to not to come here at this championships because of the Olympic preparation. But later on, when we realize I have only two competitions before that, I really wanted to come. It was a good and nice evening at the stadium - all heights with the first attempt. I did not continue jumping because the main target is the Olympic Games. But I knew this jump on the 2m was a very good for me also mentally. I thank my coach for this because she supported me and jumping all with first attempts were a good sign and also good for the technique. I want to enjoy all competitions. If you do not enjoy it, you just do not have good jumps. There was a good atmosphere and good feeling I got here. Its relaxing for my mind to be here, in this historical city. In Tokyo, I want to jump more than 2.05, 2.07... I want to jump the world record. 10/07/2021 20:22 NILSSON Maja (SWE) High Jump Women Final - Silver 1.89 It went ok. I feel like I have got better jumps in my body, but it was good. My next competition will be in Tokyo. It has been quite emotional week for me knowing that I will be in the Olympics Games soon. I am trying to recharge for that and gather myself together. 10/07/2021 20:26 ŠVÁBÍKOVÁ Amálie (CZE) Pole Vault Women Qualification Group B - Winner 4.20 q I am OK with this qualification but I really did not expect we would need only 4.20 to qualify. Only two jumps. I only feel pity for my team mate who did not make it to the final because she was so close. I had some troubles with my back before the championships but fortunately, it does not bother me now. It gives me some self-confidence towards final. The surface is fast and harder so it is a good run up. 09/07/2021 11:59 GUNNARSSON Lisa (SWE) Pole Vault Women Final - Bronze 4.40 I was obviously hoping for a gold medal today, so I'm a bit disappointed. Of course, I'm still happy that I got a medal, it's still an accomplishment. I guess I'm still not where I want to be, and if I would, I would have definitely taken gold today. I still have a lot of work to do in my jumping, but I know I have so much potential. At the senior level, that's what I need to do. I'm just focusing on the future and taking these lessons from today. 11/07/2021 19:11

CAUDERY Molly (GBR) Pole Vault Women Final - Silver 4.45 =SB I am really really happy with the result after having a few years where I have not been around so it is great to be back. A bit of a bittersweet end for me since I could have outdone her [SVABIKOVÀ] but yeah, just being out here, it is great. I am really happy with my result, I know I can jump a little higher but that will come hopefuly later in season. It was the longest competition I have ever been in - 4 hours in total, including the warm up. I was in a really good headspace in the stadium today. My first jump was successful which put me in a great place, which was great. I am hopefully going into the Diamond League next. When I get back I am gonna have a chat with my coach and kind of reevaluate and go from there. I am really looking forward for the Diamond League, that will definetely be an experience. 11/07/2021 19:31 ŠVÁBÍKOVÁ Amálie (CZE) Pole Vault Women Final - Gold 4.50 SB I was really hoping for this gold medal but I did not expect it. I think the most crucial thing was to stay focused and calm. The head was the key factor today because we had bad conditions today and had to wait for the right wind. Many girls maybe did not manage to deal with the wind and that was the key. I finally managed to show my potential because I was trying for 4.50 for a long time. I think it is a great sign for the future and that I can jump even higher. I have not schedulled anything specific after this championships so we will see what the season brings next. 11/07/2021 19:39 FARKAS Petra (HUN) Long Jump Women Final - Gold 6.73 EU23L I really wanted to jump longer than my personal best, because that would have been enough to take the gold medal. I'm really happy, and I don't really know what else to say. Yes, I can jump longer than I think, but the other girls were also very strong. It was a very tough competition. I didn't expect to jump the EU23L mark, that's really good, but I would like to jump even more. The rest of the Summer, I will have a break because I didn't qualify for the Olympic Games. I am a little sad about it, but I think I'm still young and can make it to the next Olympics. I'm already thinking about Paris 2024. 11/07/2021 17:55 HOMEIER Merle (GER) Long Jump Women Final - Silver 6.69 PB This competition was just amazing and all girls were jumping so far. In the first round, all of them jumped so well and iproved their personal bests. I could not believe it. I am very glad for a medal now and silver is great for me. I was 4th two years ago so I really wanted to get on the podium. The wind was a bit tricky because you did not feel it in the back but we managed to deal with it with my coach. Now I am heading back home to Hannover and my season is over now. I only have a couple of 100m races but just for fun. I will watch the Olympics from home. For the next season, I will work on my speed. But I am still just 21 and I have time to work on those things. Lets see what comes. My role model is Malaika Mihambo who is also my friend. 11/07/2021 18:21

I was really happy with the jumps also about the PB in this competition also to get 6.60m for the first time.I have been training a lot and also not training because of my injuries, but I am really happy to have come here and do such a result. It has been a wonderful experience for me also. Having gotten the chance to compete with these women in long jump is absolutely mad and the standard is absolutely insane. And yeah, I am really really happy. 11/07/2021 18:24 ILVES Lishanna (EST) Long Jump Women Final - Sixth 6.42 I feel disappointed in my result. I was stressed and felt even more stressed from the clapping on my first jump. I did ask to clap on the second jump since I actually do like the cheering and clapping. I slept great before the competition and I must say that it feels great to be competing in front of my own country crowd and their cheering cheers me. The level of this competition is also really high so I am glad about it, the other girls did really great. 11/07/2021 18:32 SUCHÁ Linda (CZE) Triple Jump Women Qualification Group B - Fourth 13.28 SB q The first attempt was OK but my legs bended and I did not finish properly. Technically, not even one attempt was a good one. I really hope I will show a better technique in the final. I got the season best but I wanted a PB. I knew that 13.30 should be enough to get to the final. I would be over the moon if there are two Czech girls in the final. 08/07/2021 18:45 KARYDI Spyridoula (GRE) Triple Jump Women Final - Silver 13.95 This result is not exactly what I wanted. It is not only about winning but I was hoping for a new personal best because I feel I am very well prepared. This was also the peak of my season so I am a bit upset. The wind was a bit messy and it confused me a bit. From the beginning, it was very strong back wind but then it changed and was negative. My main goal this season was to get to the Olympics but I did not make it so I think I will just start my holiday tomorrow. I go back to Corfu tomorrow and I will enjoy the summer there. When you live in Corfu, you do not need to go for holiday anywhere else. 09/07/2021 17:45

LASMANE Ruta Kate (LAT) Triple Jump Women Final - Bronze 13.75 It went pretty well. I felt a little tired after a long season, but overall it's bronze at the end of the day and I am just superhappy . There were great girls like Karydi to compete against each other. I already knew her from The European Championships U20 and I was really excited to compete with her so I think it went pretty amazing. There are no competitions coming soon so I will just be enjoying summertime. 09/07/2021 17:57 DANISMAZ Tugba (TUR) Triple Jump Women Final - Gold 14.09 NR Our main goal for this season was the Olympics Games, so after the qualification period came to an end and we realised it wouldn't be possible to qualify - also because the ranking positins were already allocated - my coach and I decided to focus on these European Championships. We continued our preparation, and today I jumped almost the same as I was jumping at training. When the event started, I was really nervous, but I don't know why. My inner self was saying I was going to get a medal, and be a champion, and once I jumped a NR, I become confident I was going to win. After that, I was not as motivated and concentrated, hence so many fouls. Two years ago, I wond silver at the U23 European Championships, so my goal this year was to win because my country deserves more. 09/07/2021 18:03 JOHANSSON Axelina (SWE) Shot Put Women Qualification Group B - Winner 17.63 Q My goal was to take the qualification with the first attempt so I am happy for this performance. I hope to throw further in the final then I did today. That is my main goal. The circle is good, we will see if it stays the same for te final. We did not see much from the city yet, we stayed only in the hotel and stadium. But from what I have seen from the bus, it is a very nice city. I have tranied hard a long time in Falun for this season and this competition. 10/07/2021 11:18 JOHANSSON Axelina (SWE) Shot Put Women Final - Bronze 17.85 I am very happy with the place I received. I do not think I could have threw any further, I did my absolute best. My next big goal is to go to the World Championchips next year and yeah, that is the next big thing I am looking forward to. 10/07/2021 17:14 SCHILDER Jessica (NED) Shot Put Women Final - Gold 18.11 It was an amazing competition, I really enjoyed it. Firstly, I didn't throw well today, but it was enough to win. I'm not really pleased with what I did, but hopefully I will be able to throw a little bit better in Tokyo. Before my last throw, I was thinking that I have throwned over 18 metres several times before, and today it showed if I gave a try, I could go over the 18 metre mark - it was 18.11 metres in the end. I'm not really satisfied but it was enough for the win. We have a few other girls and men [throwers] back in The Netherlands, it's a new generation coming up, and I am really looking forward to competing with them all in the future. 10/07/2021 17:20

RIEDEL Lea (GER) Shot Put Women Final - Silver 17.86 PB I was not very happy about the first throw and I tried to imrpove it but it did not go as I wanted. In the end, I was quite sure I was going to get a medal and had the adrenaline in my body and it just happened. I knew I could do it in the last attempt but I also was a bit lucky. I think it will be pretty hard to improve from this point on. I have to stabilize on this level to move on. I motivate myself by watching the other girls on the international level throwing. I think I deserve to be happy in this sport and that is my main motivation. 10/07/2021 17:25 VAN KLINKEN Jorinde (NED) Discus Throw Women Qualification Group A - Winner 61.97 Q I got home from the US, and started competing in The Netherlands which helped with my preparation. I wasn't too nervous, it was more the excitement of competing because I knew from the start I could throw what was needed for direct qualification. My first throw went straigth off, it was a technical mistake, but my sister - who is coaching me here today - she told me to do do some drills before the second throw which was way better than the first one - it was way over the line of direct qualification. Since my last youth championships, I feel I' ve gotten way better, and now I can throw around 70 meters . 08/07/2021 05:12 TOLJ Marija (CRO) Discus Throw Women Qualification Group B - Winner 57.76 Q I came here ready to compete, and I'm giving my absolute best. I have gained a lot of experience competing at the Wanda -Diamond League events. I don't really expect to win a gold medal here because my PB is only the 3rd best mark here, but you never know. 08/07/2021 06:16 LEVEELAHTI Helena (FIN) Discus Throw Women Final - Silver 57.09 PB It was a very good event. I am really happy with the result I got. My coach told me the same things as always before the competition- to have a trust in myself, keep the technique right etc. I was throwing my PB today so I think I have met my expectations pretty well. There are going to be further competitions in Finland, which I am realy looking forward to. 09/07/2021 21:06 NGANDU-NTUMBA Amanda (FRA) Discus Throw Women Final - Bronze 56.24 I am so happy fo a medal. We were so close with the fourth girl so I am very grateful I made it on the podium. I had no chance to see more of this beautiful country because we are in a bubble but I hope to come back next time. VAN KLINKEN Jorinde (NED) Discus Throw Women Final - Gold 63.02 I never won a Discus medal before, and I'm the World Leader right now, so that is a little weird and not right. I'm really happy I finally managed to to win a medal at a major Championships. You have to set a new goal everytime - and I always have the Shot Put. Now, I'm ready to get more. I hope I can get a medal tomorrow in the Shot Put - I'm ready for more. Hopefully, I will battle for gold with my team mate and the Swedish girl. It's going to be super exciting - Only more medals from now on, I hope. 09/07/2021 21:30 KOCH JACOBSEN Katrine (DEN) Hammer Throw Women Final - Silver 66.81 [About the inconsistency of 4 fouls and two throws which secured silver] It really was [inconsistent], I was a lot of nerves which I needed to control. I had to calm down in between throwing, and I didn't really calmed down for a while. That's why I was a little shaky, but I'm glad to get two throws at that leve. It sure was an unpredictable competition, we have a lot of strong competitors, and a lot of them could take a medal - it was a very close competition, and it really suprised me. I'm really honoured for getting a medal for Denmark, and for representing my country. My next goal is to qualify for European and World Championships - if that's possible - and to throw over 70 metres. 10/07/2021 18:55 BORUTTA Samantha (GER) Hammer Throw Women Final - Gold 68.80 I felt a bit pressure on me because of the blue bib I was wearing. I know what I was expected to do with the blue number. I have never worn it before but I think I managed well and I am happy for the 68m throw. The execution was not perfect, I made many mistakes so there is still some space to improve. My dad is here so we will have a nice dinner together and then just going to bed. I have to be ready for the Olympics. I am really looking forward to Tokyo. It will be a good experience and a good lesson for the future. 10/07/2021 18:59 VÄÄNÄNEN Kiira (FIN) Hammer Throw Women Final - Bronze 65.98 PB The competition was amazing, it was really nice to throw here. The atmosphere was incredible. There were so many people encouraging me - they were screaming and shouting; it was really nice. The only tough part was the heat, but luckily I could manage that. Thinking further, I need some power in me and also I am a bit insecure, so I need to improve that. 10/07/2021 19:06

WALTON Rebekah (GBR) Javelin Throw Women Qualification Group A - Winner 54.27 PB When I came to this competition I told myself I would love to show some good throws and to get to the final, and now, I get the PB, so I cannot ask for more. It did not feel like the best throw, it was not technically perfect so I hope for more to come and looking forward to Sunday. Every competition I had in the UK, it was wet and windy so it was really nice to come out and finally have some nice conditions. 09/07/2021 12:40 AIGOUY Jona (FRA) Javelin Throw Women Final - Bronze 55.82 I am not satisfied with my competition at all, this is not the place I wanted to achieve. I did not adapt to the conditions; the wind and the hot weather-that is why I recieved that place. And yeah, overall, I am not happy with my performance. 11/07/2021 14:00 KONSHYNA Aliaksandra (BLR) Javelin Throw Women Final - Gold 59.14 PB Coming to this competition, I did not want to let my coach and my team down. I managed to improve my personal best so I think I fulfilled my task and the gold medal is a great bonus and reward for me and my team. Of course, the attempt was not technically ideal. So I think I can perform even better and throw further. But I have to thank my coach, my physio, my team mates for a great support and help. I felt how they were cheering for me during the competition and it was very nice. I really wanted to show a good performance for them. This is the end of the season for now and I am heading back home to the city of Kobrin. I want to spend the time with my family. 11/07/2021 14:01 HANCI Münevver (TUR) Javelin Throw Women Final - Silver 57.37 First of all, I would like to thank the organisers of these U23 European Championships. I had very good first attempt at 57.37 meters - it's a good result - but, unfortunately, I did't manage to improve in my other attempts. I'm still very happy with the silver medal in this event. I don't think the wind affected my performance, I just couldn't improve. I was really surprised when the Belarussian threw over 59 metres - I wasn't expecting it. In Turkey we have very professional and experienced coaches, and our National Federation really supports all throwers, especially with providing us with training camps so we can practice. 11/07/2021 14:07

CONTE Claudia (ESP) Women - Silver 6186 PB In general, the heptathlon can go either way - sometimes you feel it was your personal best, everything goes smoothly, but today I felt every event presented its challenges for me - both in terms of technique and focus. This was a very tough competition, and finishing second is a lot better than I expected. I was hoping I would fight for third or fourth place - third if everything worked for me. Now, I realised I came second, I still can't believe it. I'm really pleased! In the hurdles, I was really nervous, and not really focused; the High Jump has been one of the toughest for me this season, but the other girls were also finding it hard, so I took advantage of it - I don't think my result shows how difficult it was. This event kind of sums up how I felt about the whole competition in general. The easiest one was definitely the Long Jump, and I'm quite pleased with the way I ran the 800 metres - it was a tactic race so I could secure second place. Overall, I have no idea of how many points I scored, but I'm really happy. 09/07/2021 19:42 SULEK Adrianna (POL) Heptathlon Women - Gold 6305 I am so proud of myself. Only two weeks ago, I ended the cooperation with my coach and I came here alone with the help of some other Polish coaches. It was like a big test before Tokyo here. I do not know what is going to happen there but now I am confident I can do well. I will hopefully find a new coach soon but I will start searching only after the Olympics. I am very grateful for the support of my boyfriend, my family and my team mates. All girls here can be satisfied with their performances - we had all kinds of the weather - the sun, the rain, wind.. It was a good experience. I was reaching a very nice score after the Day 1 but again, just like at the national championships, I did not manage my run up in the long jump. I have to focus on it before Tokyo. But I am very proud of my javelin and shot put because I had some pain in the elbow and was scared of this events. I made a little mistake in the high jump but still, I was just so close to my PB. I feel so peacefull now and I started to trust myself. I needed it. 09/07/2021 19:42 MILLS Holly (GBR) Heptathlon Women - Bronze 6095 I feel very tired. It was a very long 2 days. It really was. I've done 3 Heps this year and I've done more than many different. I 've got points from different events. After day one it won't be so good as usual. In the 800m I just died a little bit but I am really pleased with my overall score. It was good. I am proud of myself. The days showed me that I've got a lot of grit. Shame it cannot be gold, I came here to win but you know I have time if those wins don't work out. Definitely, I am glad that I can bring home a medal. 09/07/2021 19:55

BEKMEZ Meryem (TUR) 20km Race Walk Women Final - Gold 1:33:08 [About winning gold at U18, U20 & U23 European Championships] Thank you. I'm very happy for bring another success to my country before the Olympic Games. It's going to be a great motivation for me, because I want to bring the same colour medal home, I want to bring another big success for my country. I have big supporters; first of all, the president of our national federation, my coach, my athletics club - thank yo very much. For my team mates who already competed, I just want to congratulate them; but for those who are yet to compete, I just wish they bring some more gold medals for our country. 09/07/2021 11:32 CHAMOSA Antia (ESP) 20km Race Walk Women Final - Bronze 1:35:04 PB Well, my goal was to be a finalist here because I was placed 11th in the ranking, that's the position I started from. I started moving up places during the race, and when I thought I was in 6th or 7th place, my coach told me I had the girl who was in 3rd place just ahead of me. I couldn't believe it, and it the last lap, I just wanted to enjoy it and I'm still on cloud nine. The 20Km Race Walk is a very tough race, especially if you just moved from U20 to U23 - it's quite a tough change from the 10Km to the 20Km. But, I can't complain, I'm really really happy. 09/07/2021 11:37 STEY Pauline (FRA) 20km Race Walk Women Final - Silver 1:34:47 PB It was good as I did not see that podium was possible, but to finish as a second was something I cannot believe. I did not believe that at the beginning, but over the course of the race and at the end, I gradually started to. I went on a training course prior to the competition. Spent three weeks at an high-altitude in Font-Romeu. It has been a pretty long year due to Covid and everything. Even though, there was Covid last year, we did not really stop until it went out of hand. There were still quite a few competitions regardless of the pandemic, so everything went back to normal for sometime trainingwise. This definitely explains why I am here today. Tallinn is really beautiful. I am happy to be here. 09/07/2021 12:37 SPAIN (ESP) 4 x 100m Relay Women Final - Silver 43.74 Carmen MARCO - We are very pleased because all the hard we have been putting in for quite some time has paid off now. Yes, we had a medal in mind but we knew it would be very difficult because it was a very close race. In the end, we were able to execute which is good. We all train in different places across the country: Valencia, Barcelona, Valladolid and San Sebastian, but we got together for a week to prepare for the relay. We are very pleased - the Spanish team has a very high standard, it's actually impressive - and that also motivated us to run faster. Italy is also another Mediterranean country doing well at these Championships, and we are very happy for them. 11/07/2021 19:31

GERMANY (GER) 4 x 100m Relay Women Final - Gold 43.05 CR Kwadwo Keshia Beverly: I am super happy that I managed to bring the baton safely and that all went well. For this event, we trained the whole year round. In April, we had a training camp and now it feels so good that the hard work paid off and we won. We would love to continue with this relay team in the future but unfortunatelly, the two of us are born in 1999 and will not compete in this age category at the next championships. We like each other so much and we are good friends. But we will see, maybe we will make it to the adult category.

For some of us, this is the fourth or fith race in three days. We all did different events: , 400 metres hurdles, even the Heptathlon. We are very tired, but given this is the last event, we are very please to have gotten a medal. It is the result of the true team spirit. 11/07/2021 20:39
