In order to grasp the socio-cultural sustainability of palm dates farms, surveys were carried out on a sample of 16% of farmers joining the LIP through the oases of Ouargla; especialy Ouargla, N’goussa, Zaouia labidia and Elhajira targeting criterias about farmers : thier age ; educational level ; descendants future activity and types of the agricultural workforce. The results show that the farmers are mainly elderly or adults (86.9%), they are 60% illiterate but strongly attached to their oases while their descendants move towards other more gainful sectors.In the other hand, 64% of PILs are carried out by companies and design offices managed by young people, which can claim a certain reintegration of young people into oasis activity.Entrepreneurship can create a training effect for young farmers to might be interested in oases activities.Regarding, the workforce, one of the most relevant indicators of socio-cultural sustainability, is for its half (52%) family type with a fairly good upgrading of seasonal workforce (41%).The results agregation of the criteria developed in this study indicates a trend towards the possibility of improving the socio-cultural situation.

Plankton is the basis of many food webs and is the main food of aquatic trophic chains. The primary productivity achieved by phytoplankton depends on the availability of nutriments. Phytoplankton biodiversity of two natural connecting lakes (Lella Fatma and Zerzaim) in the region of Megarine in South East of Algeria was studied during the period from January 2016 to December 2016. The relationships between the biomass of phytoplankton and the physicochemical properties of water were assessed in 28 genera of phytoplankton belonging to five classes (Mediophyceae, Coscinodiscophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Cyanophyceae). The statistical analysis performed during this study clearly shows that there is a strong correlation between differing physicochemical water parameters of the studied lakes and the influence on the phytoplankton population diversity. Voll, Ph.D., Andy Vogt, Ph.D. ABSTRACT Berber regions of North Africa have long resisted incursion from the outside world. Regional conquests from the Punics, Greeks and Romans were repeatedly met with persistent and at times violent resistance, particularly under Greek and Roman rule. With the Arab conquest in the seventh century AD, the depth of penetration into Berber culture was fundamentally altered, particularly in the area of religion and language. Though still committed to Islam as a religion, recent Berber movements have shown a marked resistance to Arab cultural identity, seeking instead to re-establish a purely Berber cultural ethos through the revival of their indigenous Amazigh language and customs. Because their former identity precedes the advent of Islam, the Berber have recently sought to reconcile their ancient cultural heritage, particularly their language, with a religion they adopted in the seventh century but whose very language they conceive of as that of a former oppressor. Rather than rejecting Islam, they choose instead to reinvent it, replacing the sacred Arabic language of the QUrán with their lingua franca – Tamazight – in their practice of Islam, thereby uniting both culture and religion and reinforcing a cultural identity.

This frst ethnobotanical study aimed to quantify and document the wild medicinal plant taxa from four family and the related traditional knowledge in Naâma province, Algeria. The survey was carried out between 2018 and 2020. The socio-demographic data and the use of medicinal species were recorded and collected randomly from 84 indigenous people using pre-prepared questionnaire. The result was evaluated using quantitative indices. A total of 27 medicinal plant species belonging to 21 genera used in the community were mostly recorded. The most represented families were Lamiaceae and Asteraceae (12 species for each of them). The aerial parts were the most frequently used plant part (73 %), while a decoction (34 %), and infusion (31 %) were the major modes of remedy preparation. The species with high UV were Rosmarinus ofcinalis L. (0.80), Artemisia herba-alba Asso (0.76), and Juniperus phoenicea L. subsp. phoenicea (0.75). Plankton is the basis of many food webs and is the main food of aquatic trophic chains. The primary productivity achieved by phytoplankton depends on the availability of nutriments. Phytoplankton biodiversity of two natural connecting lakes (Lella Fatma and Zerzaim) in the region of Megarine in South East of Algeria was studied during the period from January 2016 to December 2016. The relationships between the biomass of phytoplankton and the physicochemical properties of water were assessed in 28 genera of phytoplankton belonging to five classes (Mediophyceae, Coscinodiscophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Cyanophyceae). The statistical analysis performed during this study clearly shows that there is a strong correlation between differing physicochemical water parameters of the studied lakes and the influence on the phytoplankton population diversity.
