Prior to that I was involved in Irish Setters. I have also owned English Setters. As well as showing Gordons I have also competed in Agility. I have been judging since 2013 as and am on the Gordon B List.

Joanne McDonald (Marronoir) My family have always had dogs. For my sixteenth birthday I received my first Labrador show dog, who taught me so much more than I him, and I was hooked. I have had some excellent wins at shows including CC, RCC (at Crufts) BOB (Champ) , Crufts first places and numerous BOB and Groups at Open Show level. I am on the Labrador Breed Council Judges B List.

Mrs Karen M. Marsh (Kilnrae) I have shown Gundogs for 27 years and have bred 8 UK and European Show Champion Gordon Setters and 1 German Shorthaired who was awarded Group 2 at Crufts. Many more of my dogs have been awarded RCCs and Stud Book Numbers. I award CCs in both of my breeds and have judged the majority of gundogs at Open Show level.

Mr R. Mosedale (Knightsbay) I started in dogs with my late mother Val Mosedale in the late 70’s with Gordon Setters, which were quickly followed by a German Wirehaired Pointer from the Bareve Kennel who was shown lightly with some success. It was my first encounter with Field at an Open Show at Stafford County Showground that meant my heart was sold. I was lucky enough to have my first Field in 1988 namely Ch Parkanine Pioneer of Dubldee (to date he is still the Top Full Champion in the breed). In both Gordon Setters and Field Spaniels, we have had Show Champions, Full Champions and CCs & RCC winners and also Field Trial winners. I currently have a Champion Pointer as well as a and Rhodesian Ridgebacks all with RCCs and Stud Book numbers which are co-owned with Sharon Rossiter (Sonstraal). I also own an old Hungarian . My judging career started in 1991 judging Gordon Setters at Hampshire Gundog Limited Show and Field Spaniels a little later. I was pleased to award CCs in Gordon Setters in 1999 and Field Spaniels in 2001 and I am now currently passed to award CCs in 12 Gundog Breeds over 4 of the Sub Groups (Setters & Pointers, Spaniels, HPR’s and ), also passed for the Gundog Group at Championship Show Level. I have also judged in Holland, Ireland and across the UK, and am looking forward to a trip to Finland next year. Had the privilege to Judge at Crufts 2018 doing Field Spaniels. I am also keen for dogs to be worked and I am a non-panel Field Trial judge for Spaniels. My interests have not stopped there. I am a strong believer in what you take out from the dog showing scene you should put back into the world of dogs. With this in mind, over the years I have helped to run Fun Dog Shows, Companionship Dog Shows, Scurries etc. I have served as a committee member and life member of the British Club and have served a three-year term. I was on the Society committee for 6 years and was Field Trial Secretary for 3 years. I have also been Secretary of two canine clubs for 15 years and was on Midland Counties Canine Society for 20 years as committee member and Show Manager. I am now on the committee of City of Birmingham Canine Society where I am presently acting as Chief Steward. I am also the Secretary of The Setter & Pointer Club. I have been a Group Steward for Crufts for a number of years and have been a KC member since 2003.

Ros Smith (Rosgar) I had my first Golden in 1980, she was the beginning of my love for Goldens. Since 1983 I have shown my dogs with success at all levels. My judging experience started in the late 1980s and has continued with me completing all Seminars required with passes.

Mr A. Stewart (Gwendariff) I have worked and trained dogs since 1980 but I am relatively new at dog showing (12 years). I come from the world renowned Gwendariff Irish Setter Kennel and along with my wife Diane Stewart-Ritchie, have 21 UK Champions and 16 Irish Champions to date. Judges' Profiles cont.

Diane Stewart-Ritchie (Gwendariff) I award CCs in 5 Gundog breeds and have judged all over the world both specialities and Hound and Pastoral breeds. I have been top breeder in my own breed Irish Setters for well over a decade. I look forward to meeting you and your lovely dogs on the day.

Lindsay Swan (Swantonwood) I have had Flatcoats for 30 years and show and work my dogs. After qualifying as a vet, I went into general practice. I began judging several years ago and am a C list Judge, but have passed my A3 assessment for Flat Coated Retrievers.

All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/ event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. • When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. • If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. • The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. • Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. • When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. • Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. • Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. 17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show. 18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. 19. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 20. Should any judge be prevented from fulfilling their engagement, the Committee reserves to themselves the right of appointing other judges to fulfil their duties. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entry fees can be refunded. 21. Any owner, competitor or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. Adequate receptacles for the disposal of such fouling will be provided. 22. The Committee will do its utmost to ensure the safety of the dogs brought for exhibition but it must be clearly understood by exhibitors and all other persons at the Show that the Committee will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any dogs or property, or personal injury whether arising from accident or any other cause whatsoever. 23. This regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event). 27. A dog may be disqualified by the Board from any award, whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved amongst other things to have been a) registered or recorded as having been bred by the scheduled judge, this shall not apply to a judge appointed in an emergency; b) exhibited without payment of the appropriate entry fees. 28. USE OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AT SHOWS The Kennel Club is becoming increasingly concerned at the amount of electrical equipment being used by exhibitors at shows, including hair dryers and hair straighteners and other grooming devices. Electrical equipment should not be brought to shows unless absolutely necessary. In rare instances where it might be required, it should be PAT tested and permission sought from the secretary of the show before it is used. The Kennel Club has also been informed of recent instances of exhibitors commandeering certain areas of a venue in order to have access to power points so as to use electrical grooming equipment. This is totally unacceptable and particularly unfair on the breeds whose allocated areas have been cramped because of this selfish behaviour.

SECURITY AT SHOWS In light of recent events the Kennel Club would like to issue a reminder to all Societies of the importance of security at dog shows. The Kennel Club understands that due to the nature of dog shows and the quantity of paraphernalia exhibitors bring it would be extremely difficult for show organisers to take on the issue of security alone, therefore we would reiterate the advice being given by the Police and security services, that everyone in the UK should remain vigilant and this applies to those organising and taking part in dog shows. The importance of exhibitors feeling that they and their dogs are safe when attending a show cannot be underestimated. We would therefore remind you of the importance of the need for show organisers and exhibitors to remain mindful of potential dangers and that all visitors generally need to be vigilant and alert.
