高等院校和五個國立組織構成，有兩個校區分別為 Grenoble 校區和 Drôme-Ardèche 校區。

UGA 歷史可追溯至 1339 年，在得到教皇本篤十二世詔書許可後，由 Humbert II Viennois 伯爵創建的格勒諾柏大學（ of Grenoble），最初設置有法律、 醫學和藝術專業。1805-1808 年，拿破崙復辟波旁王朝學校曾一度關停，直至 1850 年重新開放。1968 年法國爆發學生運動，格勒諾柏大學三分為以科技、醫學為 主的格勒諾柏一大（Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble I）、以社會科學為主的格 勒諾柏二大（Pierre Mendès- University, Grenoble II），和以外語、文學與傳 播為主的格勒諾柏三大（Stendhal University, Grenoble III）2，自 2016 年 1 月 1 日起三校合併成立格勒諾柏-阿爾卑斯大學，並成為法國最重要的十所大學之一。

UGA 為一所綜合型公立大學，以自然科學、工程、法律、語言、心理學和 社會科學等領域聞名，在政治、都市規劃、社會學等領域所設置之研究中心，其 規模亦為法國屬一屬二3。UGA 為獲法國政府 IDEX 計畫受資助高校之一，該計 畫旨在建立法國數所世界一流的頂尖研究型大學。

背景說明(關係建立) 1. 該校於 2016 年與本校法學院簽學術交流計畫及院級交換計畫4。 2. 該校校長 Lisa Dumasy 於 2017 年 12 月 8 日由教育部官員陪同至本校拜訪， 與本校師長進行深度綜合座談，座談會由周行一校長親自主持，與會師長包 括陳美芬國合長、法學院王立達副院長、社科院關秉寅副院長、文學院楊瑞 松副院長、外語學院英語系姜翠芬教授，以及傳播學院國傳英語碩士學位學 程施琮仁主任。
