Hymn No. 159 Christ the Lord Is Risen Today EASTER HYMN

Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia! Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Dying once He all doth save, Alleluia! Sing, ye heav’ns and earth, reply, Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Easter Reading Rev. Eddie Fort

* Hymn No. 164 The Day of Resurrection LANCASHIRE

The day of resurrection! Now let the heav’ns be joyful! Earth, tell it out abroad; Let earth her song begin! The Passover of gladness, The world resound in triumph, The Passover of God. And all that is therein; From death to life eternal, Let all things seen and unseen From earth unto the sky, Their notes of gladness blend; Our Christ hath brought us over For Christ the Lord hath risen, With hymns of victory. Our joy that hath no end.

Pastoral Prayer Dr. Brown

Worship through Song Rev. Fort Sing the Resurrection Song Allen Pote

Shout the glad triumphant story. Ne’er forget Christ’s pain and sorrow, Sing the resurrection song; ne’er forget the piercing nails, Young and old proclaim his glory. From his suff’ring comes tomorrow, Christ has ris’n to right the wrong. Good o’er evil yet prevails. Gone the shadows of our sadness, Gone the forty days of fasting, gone the days of darkened fear. Gone the weeping at the tomb. Tell the world of Easter gladness, Life has blossomed everlasting spread the word for all to hear. as the trees and flowers bloom.

Every morning brings new promise (repeat stanza 1) with the rising of the sun. As we claim the hope God gives us, life eternal has been won. Greater confidence persisting, greater strength to conquer sin gives new meaning to existing, in our death we live again.

Scripture Readings Dr. Brown Matthew 28:1-15, Mark 16:1-13, Luke 24:36-53, John 20:19-23, Acts 1:4-8
