Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to lower signal. Weather Forecast Synoptic Situation: Monsoon axis runs through Panjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated trough extends to Northwest Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay. Forecast: Light to moderate rain/T.showers accompanied by tempo. gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Chittagong, Barisal, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places. The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, the Ganges-Padma and the Meghna are in rising trend. Next 24 hours The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, the Ganges-Padma and the Meghna river systems are likely to rise. The rivers around Dhaka are likely to rise. Due to the absence of water drainage system some areas are water logged. Water logging remains unchanged. Local people and administration are trying to drainage out the water by dredging the river. Due to water logging water crisis created. Due to heavy rainfall and water logging, more or less 804244 people of 195435 families have been affected. 21160 acres crops fully and 20927 acres partially, 333 Km road fully (Paka-144KM, Mud- 189 KM) and 1013 KM (Paka-280KM and Kacha-733KM) is partially, 30 Educational institutes fully and 501 partially, 5.08 Km embankment fully and 62 KM partially have been damaged. 22104 families have taken shelter into 243 Shelters. According to DRRO 585 MT GR rice, 6,50,000 Tk GR Cash, 250 pcs Plastic sheet, 250pcs Blue Sheet and 78 pcs tents have been distributed to the flood affected people. Current stock in the District: GR Rice-215 MT, GR Cash—1,50,000 Tk. Jessore The low land areas of Keshobpur, Monirampur, Avoynagar and Jhikorgacha are water logged due to heavy rainfall. 14778 families and crops of 2900 hectares areas are affected. 14500 families have left their own house and taken shelter to other places due to household inundation. 259 families from Sagordari,Bidyananda and Keshobpur union of Keshobpur Upazilla are sent to 2 shelters due to household inundation. Situation is deteriorating. Sherpur Embankment of a river flowing beside the Jhinaigati upazila parishad has been displaced at 3 places for which water entered into upazila office premise and adjacent area. Besides low laying areas of almost all unions of Nalitabari upazila are inundated due to heavy rain and rise of water level for which 2000 families are affected. The Bhogai at Nakuagaon point is flowing 240 cm above danger level. Water level is increasing due to excessive rainfall. 20 MT GR rice for Nalitabari and 5 MT GR rice for Jhinaigati, total of 25 MT GR rice have been allocated for distribution among affected people. The DC office has a stock of 75 MT GR rice and BDT 50000 GR cash. Netrokona Water level of River and Haor is increasing due to upstream water. The Someswari at Durgapur Upazila is flowing above danger level. Vast areas of Durgapur upazila including purashava are inundated and it has been reported that 600 families are affected. DC requested for allocation of 100.00 MT GR Rice, BDT 100000 GR Cash and BDT 100000 House building grant to combat the flood situation. Narail: According to the report from DRR, due to heavy rainfall 51,750 families are water logged in Narail district. 3670 houses fully and 19180 houses partially, crops of approximately 7607 acre have been damaged. Moreover 16 educational institutes are affected. Situation has started to improve. District administration distributed 30 MT GR rice to the affected people. Kustia: Ramkrishnapur and Chilmari union of Doulatpur Upazilla is flooded due to heavy rainfall and the increasing water level of the river Padma. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) visited those two unions. District administration has distributed 16 Mt GR rice, 100pcs Sharee, 100 Pcs Lungi and 50000 Tk GR cash instantly among flood affected people. Chuadanga Due to incessant downpour over the last few days, most of the low laying areas of Hordi union of Alamdanga upazila are inundated and poor people are suffering from food shortage as there is not enough work. Affected family – 800, people – 1500, partially damaged houses – 300, fully damaged crop – 500 acre, partially damaged crop – 700 acre, damaged road – 15 km. Stock in the district is 93.00 MT GR rice. Bagerhat 3471 hectr Shrimp Hatchery of Mongla and Rampal Upazilas of Bagerhat District have been inundated due to Water logging. Approximate 10500 families of two upazilas have been affected. Deputy Commissioner’s office allocated 10 MT GR Rice to these two upazilas. At present situation is improving. Chittagong 3370 families, 245 households of Banshkhali upazila, 850 families of Shatkania upazila and 80 families of Chndnaish upazila have been affected due to heavy rainfall of last few days. 2500 hectr of seed field of Mirshorai upazila inundated. 37.800 M.T GR Rice and BDT 122500.00 GR Cash have been distributed to the affected people. Sirajganj 5 upazilas and some low laying areas adjacent to the Jamuna have been flooded as the water level of the river has risen. 349 families are affected in flood in Kazipur upazila. The Jamuna may cross danger level and few more new areas may experience fresh flood situation if water level continues to increase. Presently the flood situation in Sirajganj remains steady. DC office has distributed 42.89 MT GR rice among those who are affected from flood and river erosion in Kazipur, Shahzadpur, Belkuchi and Sirajganj Sadar upazila. Pabna 101 houses are damaged in Iswardi of Pabna due to heavy rainfall. River is following below danger level. Flood situation is normal. DC office distributed 2 MT rice among affected people.
