• Set up in 2014 by Charlie Hoult and Bob Paton – they believed the region had huge potential for digital sector collaboration. • We are volunteer led group with the core mission to ‘Grow the North East Tech Economy’ through collaboration, innovation, skills. • We are a voice for the sector regionally and nationally generating ‘noise’ to promote the region as a hotspot for Tech/digital business. • Made up of Tech organisations, large corporate employers in the region, consultants, technology hubs, education providers, local government and suppliers to the industry. • We rely on the support of our region’s organisations to help us achieve regional IT growth, promote our region externally, develop skills and education, and support regional research and development.

Dynamo's advisory board is made up of senior representation from the most influential businesses and education institutions in the region. The board meets monthly to guide the development of clusters and ensure their organisations are fully engaged. The advisory board is there to offer industry input into our planning and help shape Dynamo’s projects.

Dynamo have initiated some £100m in projects. These include:

• North East Futures UTC opened in September 2018 with more places filled than expected – Already half of 2019 places are earmarked too. • On Newcastle University’s Helix site, National Innovation Centre for Data which is due to open in 2019. • Work progresses on our business planning for Northumbria’s International Centre for Connected Construction (IC3) following lunch and reception at the House of Lords. • Centre for Public Services Leadership – a dialogue with Westminster about how to support public sector commissioning of tech projects.
