Crossover vehicles seem to be all the rage today. You know, a vehicle that’s half this and half that. Welcome to the vehicle that’s 100 percent pickup, 100 percent SUV – and 100 percent Chevy Truck. It makes the transformation from a rock-solid Vortec V8-powered Chevy full-size pickup to an extremely well equipped and well-appointed SUV in less than a minute. That’s thanks to the revolutionary Midgate, which functions as a fold-down divider between the cabin and the pickup box. And for 2006, with the standard advanced safety and security of OnStar, and the enhanced handling of the standard StabiliTrak vehicle stability 03 enhancement system, Avalanche is giving new meaning to the word ultimate. The world’s Ultimate Utility Vehicle. Chevy Avalanche. For All Life’s Roads. For more information about Avalanche visit our Web site at avalanche.gmcanada.com 63094_4c_2.qxd 7/29/05 2:26 PM Page 1 AVALANCHE MIDGATE MIDGATE It’s time to look at the pickup box in a whole new way. Avalanche 1500 Z71 4x4, shown with the Midgate lowered. 63094_5c_1.qxd 7/24/05 6:47 AM Page 1 THE MIDGATE – IT’S ALL THAT SEPARATES AN SUV FROM A PICKUP. Exactly what does it take to turn the Avalanche SUV into the Avalanche pickup? Less than 60 seconds, with absolutely no tools required. It’s the result of ingenious engineering – and the creation of the GM-exclusive Midgate. Fold it down and the cargo box extends to more than eight feet in length. That’s some truck. KEY FEATURES: • With Midgate upright, the rear cargo box measures 1600 mm (5 ft. 3 in.) • Lower the Midgate to extend the box to 2464 mm (8 ft. 1 in.) • Payloads range up to 940 kg (2072 lb.) on 2500 models • Standard Convert-a-Cab system includes the Midgate plus the removable, stowable rear window • Tailgate and box area are made with durable composite PRO-TEC material • The lockable top-box storage compartments are integrated into the pickup box side walls. 05 Added interior flexibility is provided by the 60/40 split-folding rear seat. It allows you to divide the space between passengers and cargo. Shown here with room for two pas- sengers in addition to the extended cargo space. The removable rear window can be opened to let air in. The window can also be stored conveniently inside the Midgate when it is lowered. Just how much cargo capacity is there with the Midgate lowered? With a box width of 1270 mm (50-in.), Avalanche can easily handle 4'x8' sheets of building materials. 63094_6d_2.qxd 8/28/05 8:52 AM Page 1 AVALANCHE INTERIOR THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS. Power windows, remote-controlled heated mirrors and programmable door locks – standard. Power six-way driver’s seat – standard. Dual-zone climate controls – standard. Cruise control – standard. Just in case you have the idea that Avalanche is focused on utility, be aware that this cabin is decidedly upscale, particularly with the LT’s heated front bucket seats with eight-way power adjusters and leather seating surfaces. A powerful combination of capability and luxury. KEY FEATURES: • Standard six-passenger seating features a 40/20/40 split, Custom cloth, reclining front seat with a fold-down centre armrest and storage compartment • Available five-passenger configuration with front bucket seats INTERIOR • Standard power six-way driver’s seat • 60/40 split-folding rear seat • Standard dual-zone air conditioning. 63094_7d_1.qxd 8/28/05 8:53 AM Page 1 07 Avalanche LT interior, shown with Tan leather seating surfaces and other available features. 63094_8e_4.qxd 8/9/05 2:36 PM Page 1 AVALANCHE CONTROLS THIS JUST IN. Consider yourself updated. Inside Avalanche, you have continual access to the latest information about numerous vehicle functions, displayed on the standard Driver Information Centre. As for your location, the available touch-screen DVD navigation system* monitors your progress to an astounding degree of accuracy. And the standard OnStar System can even track your vehicle if it is ever stolen. The latest information, with the latest in technology. *At time of print, detailed map coverage is available for most major urban areas of the United States and for certain metropolitan areas of Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Windsor, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax). Coverage is significantly limited outside these areas. Choose the factory navigation option and you will receive an updated navigation DVD each of the first two years following your purchase. KEY FEATURES: • Standard six-speaker sound system with CD player • Standard multi-language Driver Information Centre (DIC) • Standard full analogue instrumentation, including engine hour meter CONTROLS • Standard steering wheel sound system and DIC controls • Available power adjustable pedals (standard on LT) • Available DVD entertainment system • Available touch-screen DVD navigation system*. The standard Driver Information Centre monitors numerous vehicle operating systems and then provides readouts using the instrument panel display. It even tells you when it’s time to change the oil. The available touch-screen navigation system uses the Global Positioning System to pinpoint and display your location, generate a route map and communicate your progress using DVD-based map data.* The available DVD entertainment system includes a fold-down colour monitor, audio/video input jacks for camcorder playback and video games, two wireless headphones and a remote control unit. 63094_9e_3.qxd 8/9/05 2:37 PM Page 1 09 Avalanche instrument panel, shown with available features. 63094_10f_2.qxd 8/28/05 8:55 AM Page 1 AVALANCHE STABILITRAK YOU’RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK. No matter whether you call it understeer or plowing, oversteer or fishtailing, Avalanche’s StabiliTrak system recognizes when the vehicle is not responding properly to your steering input. The system engages automatically, adjusting engine torque and brake pressure, as required at each wheel. That helps bring the vehicle back to your intended driving line – a process that is so seamless, you may not even be aware that any intervention was required. And with the added safety and security of the standard OnStar System, you can say with confidence that Avalanche is looking out for you. STABILITRAK AT A GLANCE How It Works. StabiliTrak incorporates a series of sensors and a master electronic control module that monitors steering inputs and can control brake pressure as well as engine torque. 1. Control Module. The control module monitors wheel speed and brake pressure, and compares it with steering angles. STABILITRAK/ONSTAR 2. Automatic Sensing. A network of sensors detects when the vehicle isn’t responding appropriately to steering input, which can cause a loss of lateral traction (sideslip), understeer (plowing) or oversteer (fishtailing). As soon as these conditions are detected, the system automatically intervenes. 3. Brake Pressure. The system can apply brake pressure at each wheel and adjust engine torque to help return the vehicle to its intended direction. Automatic Activation. You don’t have to turn StabiliTrak on - it responds automatically and seamlessly when needed. But if you ever encounter a situation where StabiliTrak is not desired, you can override the system by pressing the deactivation switch Simply push the OnStar button and access a variety of safety, security and convenience features, through your OnStar Advisor. OnStar with one-year of Safe & Sound Plan is standard on every Avalanche. 63094_11f_3.qxd 8/28/05 8:53 AM Page 1 Chevrolet is known for building vehicles that deliver excellent value and dependability. One important aspect of Chevrolet value is represented by the advanced safety, security and convenience of OnStar*. OnStar uses advanced communications technology to enhance your peace of mind whenever you’re in your Chevrolet. All it takes is a single push of the blue OnStar button usually located on the interior rear-view mirror, in the overhead console, or near the radio display – the button connects you with one of our specially trained OnStar Advisors. They are standing by, ready to provide support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. What can OnStar Advisors do for you? They can provide a wealth of information and perform a variety of services, including a remote diagnostic check of your vehicle’s engine and electrical components. In an emergency, an Advisor will attempt to locate your vehicle, find out what assistance you need, and notify nearby emergency service providers. And if 1 air bags are deployed in your vehicle, an Advisor will contact you to determine if you are in need of assistance. Another convenient feature is OnStar Hands-Free Calling, a hands-free, voice-activated wireless technology integrated into your vehicle. It’s there in case your hand-held phone is lost, forgotten or has a low battery. Even better, there are no additional monthly fees, or additional long distance and roaming charges. And as a new customer, you will receive 30 complimentary minutes good for two months after activation. 11 Now you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re doing all you can to help keep you, your family, and your vehicle safe.

As part of its mission to reduce fatalities and injuries, since model year 2001 NHTSA has included rollover information as part of its NCAP ratings. One of the primary means of assessing rollover risk is the static stability factor (SSF), a measurement of a vehicle’s resistance to rollover. The higher the SSF, the lower the rollover risk.

Information Provided by: Movement is the universal language of personal freedom. Our founder Louis Chevrolet spoke it fluently. As a Swiss immigrant, he came to America with a dream of racing cars. He wished for everyone — not just the rich or entitled — to experience the exhilaration he felt behind the wheel. In 1911, he began building his first car. One hundred years later, a new Chevrolet is sold every 6.6 seconds. That amounts to 4.76 million vehicles in more than 140 countries — more than Louis Chevrolet could ever have imagined. The depth of our heritage and passion is evident in everything we do here at Chevrolet. It’s ingrained in the bold design, spirited performance, proven durability and exceptional value our drivers enjoy. It empowers us to be leaders in innovation. And it inspires us to continuously raise the bar — today, tomorrow and into what promises to be a bright future. Currently, we are pioneering new propulsion technologies to meet the demanding energy and environmental needs of a global automotive brand. We’re also employing alternative energy sources and investing in fuel-saving technologies to help reduce our carbon footprint with the goal of reducing 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the next few years. Our global reach is expanding, yet our mission remains the same. We want every customer to feel like family — no matter where you are in the world. And no matter where you’re going, we want you to enjoy the ride in a Chevrolet. From the vision of one to the journey of many, Chevy Runs Deep.

Please discard PIP4112K. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern 1 Some customers may comment on a sag or hesitation when accelerating under the following conditions: When coasting with a closed throttle and then aggressively applying the throttle. Examples of this maneuver include a rolling stop or a lane change maneuver. In this type of maneuver, even though the accelerator is applied aggressively, the throttle blade is opened slowly for up to 0.7 seconds to help minimize drive-line lash and clunking. Also in a vehicle equipped with a six speed automatic transmission when making a hard, complete stop with a closed throttle, immediately followed by an aggressive throttle opening the transmission down-shifts may not be completed by the time the throttle is opened.
