Department of Civil Engineering

About the Department

The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2004 and Parul Institute of Technology in 2010 and has grown into a full- fledged department with specializations in all the major areas of Civil Engineering.

The Department of Civil Engineering is dedicated to provide in-depth academic knowledge and hand-on experience on advanced engineering topics such as, structural engineering, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering, etc. The highly knowledgeable academic staffs works dedicatedly with students to improve the overall education experience. Civil Engineering department has a number of MoUs with industries like MCC, PTSI, L&T, RIEPL, RC etc. Parul University, jointly with Larsen & Toubro Limited Civil Engineering department, University of Surrey received grant of 50,000 GBP for industry defined project with Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, under Newton Bhabha Research Foundation with FICCI – NKFH.

Theme: Smart Constructions

Smart Construction is the order of the day with the rapid industrialization and urbanization in developed and developing nations. Innovative and smart design together with sustainable construction practices is challenging task for the engineers to meet the ever growing demands of society. Smart construction is the best practice for setting goals in Civil Engineering design and solutions. Engineers shall aim at goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. Smart Construction takes into account smart materials and techniques that can be significantly changed in a controlled fashion by external stimuli. It gives clarity on what technique will be required to achieve high end solutions. The conference is the premiere forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of Civil Engineering. The conference will bring together leading researchers, architects, engineers and scientists in this domain of interest from around the world.
