We are Hiroshima Barrier-free Tour Center. We send easy tourist information for all people, for the purpose of helping you have a pleasant time in Hiroshima. This time, a big yacht race called Hansa World will be held, for everyone who will participate, we have prepared wonderful barrier-free tour information . We prepared information on restaurants around the venue, and tourist information on World Heritage sites. Marina Hop is a facility next to Kannon Marina where Hansa World will be held! Especially noteworthy is the MARIHO Aquarium which opened last year! You can relax while surrounded by various fish. Mariho Food Hall by Rurubu Kitchen which opened in August this year is also noteworthy! You can enjoy various dishes while watching the scenery of the marina! Please do come and visit! There are also five barrier-free toilets perfect! Seaside&Style Pachi Pachi In this restaurant, you can enjoy special dishes with chef use selected ingredients!! All dish are all-you-can-eat!! You can enjoy waffles, baumkuchen, and more!! Also, this place has an eating space. “MARIHO FOOD HALL by Rurubu kitchen” is stylish restaurant opened in July 2018. In this place, you can enjoy various dishes and alcohols. Rurubu is a Japanese travel magazine published by JTB. “MARIHO FOOD HALL by Rurubu kitchen” is the restaurant opened in cooperation with them. So, this restaurant serves “cuisine" from all over. Moreover, the view from the restaurant is wonderful. Scenery of marina, sunset, etc. …!! It is also attractive to enjoy the knowledge about the ingredients and local information. “Cozy space”, “Land charm”, “Travel Information”.     Losing Two Daughters in the A-bombing Makie Fujii 1 Situation before the A-bombing My family lived on the river bank about 100 meters east of the Yokogawa Bridge at 1-chome in Yokogawa-cho. At that time, my family consisted of four members: my husband (Kiyoshi) and me, our three-year-old eldest daughter Kazuko, and a half-year-old youngest daughter Kiyomi. Before the A-bombing, whenever a red alert siren went off, I would run into a pit that had been dug underground, taking my two children with me. This happened repeatedly for many days and is still vivid in my memory. Damage from the A-bombing On the morning of August 6, my husband took the day off from work and was staying home because he had received call-up papers. Since the red alert had been canceled, my children and I were playing tag upstairs in our house. Suddenly, a burning fireball flew into our house with a thud from a window. At that moment, my children and I started falling down like being sucked into an abyss. My eldest daughter was shouting under my feet, “Mommy, I’m here. Mommy, I’m here.” “Kazuko-chan, mommy will get you out of there. Hang on,” I called out to her but couldn’t move even my neck because every part of my body was stuck between walls and various things in our house. Before long, I heard my husband calling my name from above. “Makieeee, where are you? Makieeee…,” while he seemed to be walking around in search of us.

    Hiroshima City 広島市 Kelsey Laszlo HIROSHIMA CITY 広島市 Welcome to Hiroshima City: a sprawling city of just over 1 million people full of history and culture. On August 6th, 1945, Hiroshima became known throughout the world as being the place where the first atomic bomb was dropped. Since then, the city has rebuilt and flourished, making a new history for itself, thinking about the future, and sharing its desire for peace. Though not huge, Hiroshima is a proud, lively city full of must-see spots, fun activities, and great food! This guide shares a number of great places for you to spend your free days in Hiroshima. So, first let’s talk about getting around town. Transportation Train Hiroshima Station (広島駅) is easily accessible to all parts of the prefecture. As the central transportation hub for the prefecture, all roads lead here. The most popular line is the Sanyo line, which heads east to west, connecting most of the cities along the coast. It also heads to neighboring Yamaguchi and Okayama Prefectures, and beyond. The Kure Line heads south towards Kure (naturally). The Kabe Line heads through Yokogawa Station and then continues north to the northern wards of Hiroshima City. Finally, the lesser-used Geibi Line heads north through Asakita Ward before continuing into the countryside towards Miyoshi. Hiroshima Station is also home to the Shinkansen! With very limited stops within the prefecture, it’s more useful if you’re heading somewhere further away like Fukuoka (70min/￥9,000), Osaka (95min/￥10,400), or Tokyo (4hours, ￥19,000). Bus The Hiroshima Bus Center (広島バスセンター) is located on the third floor of the SOGO Department Store, at the large intersection not too far from Hondori.

    iro lub ews Hashi: 箸 Chopsticks (‘hashi’) are a vital element of eating in Japan, and they are available in many designs, colors and lengths. Some are completely round like many Chinese chopsticks, but more commonly they have four rounded sides. They may be made of wood, bamboo or plastics. Rather short, disposable chopsticks called waribashi are provided at many restaurants. They are usually made from one piece of plain wood, so have to be split apart. To avoid using chopsticks others may have used, and also help to reduce the amount of wood used for making waribashi, some people always carry their own chopsticks with them in a case. At many houses and restaurants, a chopstick-rest (‘hashioki’) is provided for each person. You should place your chopsticks on the rest when not using them, so that their tips do not touch the table. Hashioki also come in all kinds of designs and may be made of wood, ceramics, glass, bamboo, etc. You can make a simple one yourself from the paper packet (hashibukuro) whicj waribashi come in. © Taboos when you use chopsticks © Ò Utsushi-bashi: Never pass food from your chopsticks to someone else’s, because the bones left after cremation are passed like that at funerals. Ò Mayoi-bashi: Never wave your chopsticks in the air or move them around trying to decide what to eat next. Ò Sashi-bashi: Never skewer food with chopsticks. Ò Mogi-bashi: Don’t try to pick bits of food off the chopsticks with your teeth. Ò Neburi-bashi: Don’t suck the ends of your chopsticks.
