ISLINGTON and SHOREDITCH HOUSING ASSOCIATION LTD 102 BLACKSTOCK ROAD, LONDON N4 2DR ACCESS to OUR OFFICE We ISLINGTON AND SHOREDITCH HOUSING ASSOCIATION LTD 102 BLACKSTOCK ROAD, LONDON N4 2DR ACCESS TO OUR OFFICE We hope that this information sheet will make access to our office easier, whether or not you have a disability. TRANSPORT Parking There is very limited parking in the Finsbury Park area. ISHA is only able to provide a parking permit to staff with a disability or those for whom transport is essential for their work. Bicycle racks are available in front of the office. Tubes The nearest tube station is Finsbury Park (Victoria and Piccadilly lines) – about 10 minutes’ walk from the office. Trains The nearest train station is also Finsbury Park with trains from Moorgate and Kings Cross. Buses Many buses run between the Finsbury Park station and the office: 4, 19, 106, 236. Other buses stop on Seven Sisters Road at about 7 minutes’ walk from the office: 29, 253, 259, 279. THE OFFICE Physical Layout Reception and the Development department are located on the ground floor. All the other departments are on the first floor. A lift can be used to gain access to the first floor. The whole office is wheelchair accessible. A disabled loo is available on each floor including one at Reception. Physical Features There are soft strip lights throughout with good natural light. The managers’ offices are further away from windows and rely more on artificial lighting, however, those offices have an air cooling system to facilitate temperature control. As the office is mainly open plan, noise level varies and can be high at times. There are audio loop systems in the main meeting room, the tenant interview rooms and at Reception. (For Applicants) Except for senior staff, most employees sit in an open area with a few other staff, with computers and printers operating intermittently during the day. The height of some desks can be varied and would be suitable for wheelchair users or very tall people. We hope that we have provided you with enough information on access but if you need more please contact the person you are meeting or their secretary (if applicable). If you have any comments on these access details, we would find the feedback very useful. • Queen of Hoxton Pro Sound News Europe Online FEBRUARY 2011 - Shoreditch
Queen of Hoxton Pro Sound News Europe online FEBRUARY 2011 - Shoreditch On the whole, 2010 could be looked at as a pretty torrid time to be a self-contained music venue in the capital. The future remains uncertain to say the least for its legendary 100 Club; and at the back end of last year, The Luminaire shut its doors for the last time. But it’s not all doom and gloom, apparently. One venue that has kept London’s live music flag flying – well, at half mast, at least - is the Queen of Hoxton – which, actually, is located on Curtain Road in Shoreditch, and has been subject to a major audio overhaul. The venue opened two years ago, but things really started to take off in Summer 2010 when Roots Manuva was first to perform through the 200-capacity venue’s newly installed Funktion-One PA system. Since then, it has accommodated an array of popular bands and DJs including The Maccabees, Rob da Bank and Mat Horne; and a massive show from The Drums at the end of last year. “The response from artists about the new sound system has been phenomenal,” says the Queen’s Danny Payne, “Word has spread, and it’s been integral in attracting bigger acts to play at the venue.” The Funktion-One installation was undertaken by London headquartered Sound Services Ltd, and the main rig consists of a pair of Res 2s and a pair of F-218 subwoofers, along with FFA amplification and Funktion-One- badged XTA processing. Along with its state-of-the-art PA system, the venue now boasts a state-of-the-art Green Room as well, which is a dedicated area located at back-of-house with private dressing rooms and make-up facilities, an all important mini-bar, and a live video link to the main stage that can accommodate up to twenty people in privacy..

  • The Parkland Walk Trail, Butterfly Hunt and Photographic Competition
The Parkland Walk Trail, Butterfly Hunt and Photographic Competition Welcome to the Parkland Walk Nature Trail, Butterfly Hunt and Photographic Competition. The Parkland Walk has a number of marker posts along its length. The section between Finsbury Park and Highgate has 14. The key below will guide you as to what to look out for. In addition to these marker posts, we have added extra ‘butterfly posts’ just for the duration of the Crouch End Festival. Each post has a picture of a butterfly that you might hope to see on the Walk, and some have a letter. Make a note of all the letters and arrange them at the end of the Trail to make a phrase. Each butterfly post will also carry a simple question to see how much you know about nature. It’s just for fun, no prizes, but you might be surprised at what you learn. Keep a note of how many you get right. The answer to each question will be found at the next post. Finally we are running a photo competition, so if you see something along the way, take a picture and send it to us and you might win a £20 gift voucher. Brief details are on the last page. Full details and terms can be found on our website www.parkland-walk.org.uk The Parkland Walk Nature Trail The Oxford Road entrance at Finsbury Park marks the beginning of the 1 Parkland Walk. Over 300 kinds of plants and trees have been found. Most are native English species, but some have ‘escaped’ from local gardens.
