Our scorecard rates each member of the New Jersey Senate and Assembly on their conservation record and actions taken to protect the environment in the Garden State. It does this by tracking how New Jersey’s 40 senators and 80 Assembly members voted on key legislation affecting air and water quality, open space, and the fight against climate change. As “the political voice for the environment,” New Jersey LCV uses its resources to elect environmental champions and support them in office while helping to defeat candidates and officeholders whose legislative priorities do not include air, water, and land protections. We empower legislators by providing background information before key environmental votes, and we hold legislators accountable for their positions and actions related to our environment.

  • Legislative Report Card 218Th Nj Legislature 2018-2019 Dear Friends
LEGISLATIVE REPORT CARD 218TH NJ LEGISLATURE 2018-2019 DEAR FRIENDS, I am pleased to share this report card for the 2018-2019 New Jersey state legislature. Here is a snapshot of how lawmakers voted on key social and moral legislation related to the right to life, education, family, marijuana, marriage, and other issues. Guided by our mission of building a state where God is honored, religious liberty flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished, this report card focuses on seven bills in the New Jersey Assembly and Senate during the 2018-2019 Legislative Session. All of those bills are included in this report card. A bill is passed by a simple majority in the Senate (21 votes out of 40 senators) and the Assembly (41 votes out of 80 Assembly members.) Lawmakers earned letter grades ranging from A–F based on how they voted on all the bills. This report card is not an endorsement of any candidate or political party. It does not measure any lawmakers’ integrity, commitment to their faith, work ethic, or rapport with Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey. It is only a report on how each lawmaker voted. One of the most common questions people ask is, “How did my legislator vote?” This report card should help you answer that question. Sincerely, Shawn Hyland Director of Advocacy CONTENTS Introduction Letter 2 Vote Descriptions 4 About the Report Card 3 Legislator Votes 5-7 - 2 - ABOUT THE REPORT CARD Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey selected votes on key legislation in the New Jersey Assembly and New Jersey Senate based on our core belief in promoting, protecting, and strengthening traditional family values.

  • May 1, 2020 the Honorable Nancy Pelosi the Honorable Mitch
May 1, 2020 The Honorable Nancy Pelosi The Honorable Mitch McConnell Speaker Majority Leader U.S. House of Representatives U.S. Senate Washington, D.C. 20515 Washington, D.C. 20510 The Honorable Kevin McCarthy The Honorable Charles E. Schumer Minority Leader Minority Leader U.S. House of Representatives U.S. Senate Washington, D.C. 20515 Washington, D.C. 20510 Dear Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader McConnell, Minority Leader McCarthy, and Minority Leader Schumer: As elected officials from many states and cities, we commend you on your leadership in providing relief to millions of workers impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. While in our home jurisdictions, we are doing everything we can to help vulnerable workers, the scope of the emergency exceeds our ability to provide comprehensive relief. So, we are pleased that discussions have begun on the next phase of legislation and are writing to ask that you protect property service workers who are keeping the nation moving in this time of crisis. Property service workers have been declared to be essential in numerous state and city “stay-at- home” and “shelter-in-place” orders, and for good reason. The duties of property service workers (building cleaners, security officers, residential service workers, contracted airport service workers, cafeteria workers, and parking workers and others) are critically important so that the public can stay healthy and our buildings and facilities can stay safe for the duration of the crisis. Essential property service workers cannot weather periods of time without work, but at the same time, neither can we continue to allow them to face the risks associated with continuing to do their work during a pandemic without proper protection and compensation.

Helping New Jersey Manufacture Success • • • • EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE DIRECTORY The Go To Guide for Training New Jersey Manufacturer’s Employees RESOURCES EVENTS AND ENGAGEMENT TRAINING APPRENTICESHIPS WORKSHOPS Revised: 01/13/21 EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE DIRECTORY The Go To Guide for Training New Jersey Manufacturer’s Employees New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) serves as trusted business advisors and technical experts to New Jersey manufacturing companies. NJMEP has helped thousands of manufacturers improve operations, increase profits, create or maintain jobs, and establish a foundation for long-term business growth and productivity. Since Year 2000, NJMEP has worked with thousands of manufacturers leading to more than $3.58 billion in increased/retained sales, $716.24 million in process improvement savings, $1.1 billion in capital investments and helped create and retain more than 41,473 jobs. NJMEP has helped manufacturers realize more than $5.4 billion in value. INTRODUCTION If you want to find a new car, a new restaurant, or new technology for your office, there are resources you can count on to help make the job easier. Until now, New Jersey has not had a single source at its disposal to provide locations in assisting manufacturers to train their employees. However, State, county and even local governments have their own resources (as do private entities), and NJMEP seeks to fill the need for New Jersey Manufacturers with this Guide. HOW TO USE THE EDUCTATIONAL RESOURCE DIRECTORY NJMEP has done the research and contacted key training resources in New Jersey to determine primary contacts. For example, if you are looking to train high school graduates we suggest starting with the “County College” section, (many of their related offerings are included in the “County College Degree and Certificate Sections”) In other instances, if you are seeking basic skills training you can look in the “Vo-Tech” section, or if a specific or unique background is required you can go directly to the “WDB” (Work Force Development Board / One Stop Center).
