Hard of face and obstinate of heart are they to whom I am sending you. But you shall say to them: Thus says the LORD GOD! And whether they heed or resist—for they are a rebellious house— 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Masses they shall know that a prophet has been among them. RESPONSORIAL PSALM SECOND READING 5 p.m. Vigil, 8 a.m., and 10 a.m. Masses 2 Cor 12:7-10 GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Brothers and sisters: That I, Paul, might not become too elated, because of the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, to beat me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Masses GOSPEL ACCLAMATION SECOND READING 5 p.m. They said, “Where did this man get all this? I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, What kind of wisdom has been given him? the Only Begotten Son of God, What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, true God from true God, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; And are not his sisters here with us?” through him all things were made. And they took offense at him. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, Jesus said to them, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, he suffered death and was buried, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on and rose again on the third day them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
