Hexthorpe area Burglary Anti-Social Behaviour and drugs. Updates on Action taken - Directed patrols to identify those involved, ABC+ submissions and intelligence gathering. - Arrest of 3 males in recent weeks for drug dealing in Hexthorpe. All three were as result of stop and searches and were arrested in possession of various quantities of drugs including heroin, cocaine and spice. It has run every Wednesday for 12 weeks with input from emergency services and colleagues from DMBC, with 15 attendee’s taking place in the scheme. The aim is to teach children to be good citizens and includes work on personal safety , crime and consequences, anti-social behaviour , drugs/alcohol , crime prevention and road safety. The children will take part in a community litter pick and a visit to the fire stations to discuss fire safety and implications of hoax calls. They will also visit the old police cells at Thorne as part of the crime and consequences input. - Operation Shield is running in the area with the intention of offering 'smart water' property marking to all residents. - Male arrested in alleyway between Sheardown Street and Crimpsall Road. Seen exchanging cash with a male in the alleyway, officers requested to search as male also had a bank card with him that was not in his name and a set of car keys. Officers found approximately 60 wraps of what is believed to be class a drugs and £225 cash. Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council has paid for a new public bench to be placed next to the Millennium Cross, on Main Street, in memory of Fred Thompson, who died last year aged 84. A plaque on the back of the bench says Fred was a ‘gentleman of integrity and dignity at the heart of his community’.
