Los Angeles, CA - Snowboarders Gretchen Bleiler and Hannah Teter and freeskier Kristi Leskinen are among the nominees for a 2007 Teen Choice Award to be handed out live on Fox Television on August 26, alongside surfer Lisa Andersen and wakeboarder Dallas Friday for “Choice Action Sports Female.” Both Bleiler and Leskinen won top awards in their respective categories at last year’s inaugural Action Sports Awards, but this is the first time either has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award.

“There’s no audience more important to the action sports world than teens,” said Bleiler. “They are some of our biggest, most knowledgeable fans so it’s a huge honor to be nominated for their award.”

"I have always thought the most rewarding part of being a professional athlete was the ability to have a positive influence on kids,” said Leskinen. “It's very important to me and I am thrilled to be nominated for the Teen Choice Awards!”

Teter has been keeping busy promoting "Hannah's Gold" - a line of Grade A, Vermont Maple Syrup she created to donate all profits to poverty-stricken children in Africa through a partnership with World Vision. Bleiler kept the competitive momentum rolling all last winter with two podiums at the 2007 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, second at both the U.S. Open and X Games and a third at the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom in Washington. She has yet to rest as she won the Abominable Snow Jam halfpipe in July at Mt. Hood, Oregon.

In the Choice Action Sports Male category, snowboarder Shaun White is the sole snow sports nominee, going up against skateboarder Ryan Sheckler, surfers Andy Irons and Kelly Slater, and BMX rider Ryan Nyquist.

Teens across the U.S. ultimately choose the nominees and winners announced at the live awards show. Voting is now underway at www.fox.com/teenchoice.
