The group re-packaged 120 cases of frozen potatoes into two pound bags to distribute to soup kitchens and shelters throughout Oklahoma. The students handled 3,600 pounds of potatoes for the equivalent of 2,769 meals.

ATTENTION: 2012 SSC Graduates - Please note the day and time for Graduation

Seminole State College Commencement exercises will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012. The SSC Office of Admissions released the following steps that qualified candidates for graduation must complete if they plan to participate in this year’s ceremony.

• Purchase a non-refundable, non-returnable cap and gown from the SSC Bookstore. Purchase price is $28.52. The deadline for purchasing a cap and gown is Friday, May 4, 2011. Students who own a cap and gown, must take their items to the Bookstore for comparison with those being distributed to other graduates. If the items match, they may be used.

• All students must complete a form in the Bookstore stating their intent on participating in Commencement. • Graduation announcements and name cards will be available for purchase at the Bookstore at a cost of $6.53 for a package of ten. Graduation t-shirts are also available. The deadline to order announcements, name cards and shirts is Friday, April 20, 2011.

SSC Assistant Registrar Debbie Robertson said that those choosing to participate will receive additional information concerning the graduation exercises when they purchase their caps and gowns. She added, “Although attendance at the graduation exercise is optional, we encourage each qualified candidate to consider participating in our Commencement. It is a wonderful day of celebrating student success.”
