ANDY Pritchard WEST MONKTON and Andy Pritchard cheddon fitzpaine 36 School Rd, Monkton Heathfield, Taunton, TA2 8PE Tel: 01823 413934 You have 3 votes: use one to vote Green on may 2nd Email: [email protected] Dear Resident, I'm your Green Party candidate for West Monkton and Cheddon Fitzpaine ward in the local elections to the new Somerset West and Taunton Council. If elected, my top priority will be to represent the best interests of the West Monkton & Cheddon Fitzpaine ward. Our area is a great place to live, work and visit, with a strong community in wonderful surroundings. We need to protect our services, improve local business opportunities and maintain our identity at the edge of Taunton. I work across Taunton and Somerset for a local mental health charity, which gives me the chance to influence and shape services for the whole community. Community wellbeing is a key priority for me and if elected I will take a keen interest in pursuing developers to put in key infrastructure such as green spaces, cycling provision, and looking at our road networks and flashpoints. Already as part of my survey work locally I have been speaking to local residents who identify the various proposals around road changes and bus gates and traffic flow a key concern. I will do my best to ensure that the best possible solution for all is achieved. I regularly walk and cycle the whole of the local area, and have supported litter picking initiatives in the community where we now have a good number of local people equipped with litter pickers and taking care of their own patch. This initiative has engaged all age groups including young people completing their Duke of Edinburgh award through community volunteering. This is the sort of fully involved and engaged community that I want to support and help create. I also lead on the local Friends of Farriers Green Group and hope to encourage others to take a role however big or small in looking after their local environment. The Green Party locally has successfully proposed a cross party climate emergency declaration by the Shadow Authority for Somerset West and Taunton. We would work with all councillors willing to consider positive environmental standards. I am married with two children, who attend local schools, West Monkton Primary and Heathfield. My wife works at Musgrove and sees the challenges the NHS faces daily. I have worked in mental health all my career starting in London, but returning to my native Somerset in 2007. Please consider using your vote to elect me, you will be able to vote for three councilors on May 2nd. I will continue to speak up, seek to make a difference and provide a Green voice on Somerset West and Taunton Council. Yours sincerely, Andy pritchard: a green voice on somerset west and Taunton council You have 3 votes: use one to vote Green on may 2nd Representing You and Your Concerns If elected as your local councillor I would use surveys like the one below recently conducted with residents of Aginhills Drive, Sellicks Road, and Walkers Rise to inform me of issues you would like me to work towards. If you would like to complete your own copy of the survey please email me at [email protected] Dave Mansell : Current Green Party Councillor “Andy would make a great councillor to represent West Monkton and Cheddon Fitzpaine.
