(IIT), Ph.D. (IIT, Kharagpur) Jyoti Vihar - 768019 Vice Chancellor Sambalpur, Odisha PREFACE Sambalpur University, spread over an area of six hundred and seventy acres of land adjacent to Hirakud Dam, was established on the 1st of January, 1967. It has continued to be an active organization for human resource development in Odisha for the last 49 years in the western region of Odisha. It has catered to the academic aspiration of the people of 10 districts, including the underdeveloped Kalahandi and Bolangir districts of the KBK region. The University is committed to imparting quality education at the tertiary level while promoting the social and cultural ethos of Odisha in general and that of the western part of the State in particular.
