Se5000tmpolyurethane Basecoat SE5000TMPolyurethane Basecoat TYPE FLASH POINT (CLOSED CUP) A two-component, polyurethane basecoat that is Below 20F (-7C) and 73F (23C) activated with an activator.This is the same high quality paint that is used on Polaris/Victory vehicles at the POTLIFE factory ensuring excellent color matching. 3 – 4 HOURS AT 70F (21C). DESCRIPTION A two-component, polyurethane basecoat with excellent APPLICATION SOLVENTS appearance, and handling. May be reduced with an urethane grade reducer to NOTE: This is a basecoat product requiring a clear achieve a viscosity of 20—30 seconds in an EZ coat. Zahn #2 cup. COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER COATINGS CLEANUP SOLVENTS Basecoats require the use of clearcoats: Clean equipment promptly with urethane grade 8430STMStandard Clearcoat solvent or MEK. DRY FILM CHARACTERISTICS INDUCTION TIME Chemical Resistance EXCELLENT No induction time is required. Humidity Resistance EXCELLENT Weatherability EXCELLENT APPLICATION CONDITIONS Acid Resistance EXCELLENT Alkali Resistance EXCELLENT Do not apply material, substrate or ambient if the temperature is less than 50F (10C) or above 110F Solvent Resistance EXCELLENT Abrasion Resistance EXCELLENT (43 C). The substrate must be at least 5 F (3 C) Flexibility EXCELLENT below the dew point. Relative humidity should be below 90%. WEIGHT SOLIDS 34 to 61% unactivated (depending on color) 37 to 60% RTS when mixed with SE5085TM activator (depending on color). SUGGESTED DRY FILM THICKNESS 1.0 - 2.0 mils dry film thickness.
