Dorothy Weir^taWb "Dorothy L. Weir, 75, West Wheeling, Bellaire, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 1995, in East Ohio Regional Hospital at Martins Ferry. She was born Dec. 2, 1919 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Butler Secrist. She was a Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Weir; four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are a son, William Thomas Weir of Gnadenhutten; a daughter, Carol Lee Ramey of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister, Marie Pugh of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grand children; four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bauknecht Funeral Home, Bellaire, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Michael Adkins officiating. He was a retired coal miner of Cravat Coal Co. and attended St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Weir. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Sccrist Weir; a son, William T. of Gnadenhuttcn, Ohio; a daughter, Carol W. Ramey of Mooresville, N.C.; two sisters, Catherine White and Ann Rose, both of Bellaire; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchil dren. Friends received 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Bauknecht Funeral Home, Bel laire, where services will be held at noon Monday. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Emmett Weir Sr. Emmett Lee Weir Sr., 75, Kon- togiannis Apts., St. Clairsville, formerly of Yorkville, died Tues day, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born May 12, 1915 at Thuber, Texas, a son of the late Claude and Willa Jackson Weir. He was a retired miner of Valley Camp and Y & 0 Coal Companies, and a former employee of the Thomas Bloch family of Wheeling. Weir was also a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church at St. Clairs ville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Mary Scott Weir. Surviving are his wife, Agnes E. I Weir ; two sons, Harry L. Weir of [Detroit, Mich., and Emmett L. Weir lJr., of St. Clairsville; a stepson, [Lionel A. Chaney of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Megan I Jordan Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; two | grandchildren, a great-grandchild, seven stepgrandchildren and a step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, Adam and Donald Weir, a brother, Ollie Weir and a sister Marion Jeslosky. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lukasko Weir; a daughter, Audrey Joan Negroski of Reynoldsburg; a son, John W. Weir of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Grace Huntsman of Quaker City and Thelma Fox of Floria; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Beck Funeral Chapel, St. Clairsville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Maynard, with the Rev. Virgil Reischman the celebrant. Burial will be in Union Ceme tery, St. Clairsville. Prayer ser vices will be Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Hazel Weir JJfij Hazel Marie Weir, 81, of 38 Old Cadiz Road, Bridgeport, died Tuesday in Martins Ferry Hos pital. She was born March 12, 1903 at East Liverpool, a daugh ter of the late Henry and Eva Hayes Joner. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Martins Ferry. She was preceded in death by her husband, David T. Weir, in 1968. Surviving are a son, David of I Bridgeport; a daughter, Vivian Warren of Auburn, Maine; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 Na tional Road, Brookside, 7 to 9 p.m. today, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. David Sedziol officiat ing. He was born July 13, 1934 at Shepardstown, Belmont County, a son of the late George William and Mary Catherine Lukasko Weir. John was retired from Consol Coal Company’s Mahoning Valley Mine at Egypt Valley, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a life member of St. Clairsville High School Alumni Association, a 33- ear member of AA, £arrison County Democratic Chair, Harrison County JCs, New Athens VFD,9 UMWA # 1506, and an avid golfer who loved to play at the Cadiz.Country Club. ~7 C- In addition to nis parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John ChristopLher Weir; an infant brother, Adam Weir; and brother, Sgt. Donald George Weir, who was killed in action in Korea; and a nephew, Vincent George Negroski. Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Ann Hawthorne Weir who would have cele brated their 53rd anniver sary on July 30th; a daugh ter, Jacqueline (Paul) Cacciatore of Phoenix, AZ.; a son, James (Susan) Weir of Martins Ferry, OH; a sister, Audrey Joan Negroski and her son, Dr. Donald Negroski and his family all of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Alexandria Weir- Cacciatore, Taylor Wisvari- Weir and’Jack Vincent Weir. Mary Weir Mary Catherine Weir, 84, of St. Clairsville, formerly of Shep- herdstown, died Thursday at the home of her son. She was bom August 4, 1908 in Shepherds town, a daughter of the late John and Mary Labasik Lukasko. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Si Clairsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Bud” Weir; a son, Donald; four brothers; a sister. Surviving are one son, John W. Weir of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Joann Negroski of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Helen Hcpner of Maynard; four grandchildren; five great-grand children. Friends will be received at the Beck Funeral Home, SL Clairsville, Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic C^'irch, St. Clairsville, with the Rev. les Bryant officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Vigil services Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. WCTl 3TTu Ills v» i iv« iv^v^' ■ — c-' Robert Weir Robert Franklin Weir, 67. died peacefully on September J5, 2003 at his home at 737 Main Street, overlooking the beautiful Ohio River, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He attended Wheeling Central Catholic High School and gradu ated from McKinley Vocational School. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #3. Throughout his career he worked for various local contracting companies. He was appointed as foreman or superintendent on many projects. He also was1 owner of Bob Weir and Sons Contracting. Bob was instru mental in the renovation of Victorian Old Town in North, Wheeling. He received various awards for his participation. He also participated in the renovation of many structures in the Downtown area and also Center Wheeling. He was considered to I be a true artisan of his craft and a mentor to many. Of his many artistic talents, one of his favorite pastimes was painting. He was also a member of various reli gious and community organiza tions. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Ann Jamison Ross, a great grand daughter, Jaelin Elizabeth Creighton. Surviving are his wife, Cecelia Ann Motto Weir, four children, Kimberly Podratsky and her hus band Thad, Sherry Wizba and her husband Frederic, Robert J. Weir and his wife Bridget all of Wheeling; Philip Weir of Fla; nine grandchildren. Tiffany, Josh, Chelsey, Sara, Philip, Annie, Lauren, Remy and Emily; three great grandchildren, Caitlin, Jalen and Tristan; a sis ter, Christine Eisenhauer of Wheeling; several nieces and nephews.
