Unsure about how a mystery dinner works? Never fear! It’s super simple.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED: + The included printables printed out (see the assembly page for tips) + Your favorite family meal (You need 9 items total, but silverware and napkins can count as individual items) + 3 paper plates per person (paper is optional, but really helpful and makes for easy cleanup since there’s 3 courses) + Pens/Pencils + Disposable Tablecloth
MYSTERY DINNER INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Set up your table. Add a tablecloth and place a menu in the center of the table. You can print one for each person or use one for the whole table to share. You’ll also want to make sure each person has an order form. 2.) Prepare the Key. Assign a number to each item you’re serving and write that item next to the coordinating number on your key. This makes it so easy for the server to quickly put together each course. 3.) Make your meal and set out everything you are using in the kitchen so it’s ready to go for easy serving. 4.) Once your family is sitting down at the table, you can explain that this is a very silly restaurant and things might be a little mixed up. Have each of your kids use the menu to pick what they want for each course on their own order form. For younger kids, you can ask them which numbers they want for each course and help them write on the order form. Before collecting the order forms, make sure everyone has written their name at the top. 5.) Use the order forms and the key to put together and serve each course. 6.) Once you start serving up each course let the silliness and giggles begin! Dessert for an appetizer is totally normal at this restaurant. 7.) Continue until each course has been served.

I hope you and your family enjoy your out of this world mystery dinner. Here’s a few tips + tricks to help you get everything ready!
+ Print the included files on heavy cardstock. You’ll need 1 order form per person. + Use scissors to cut out around the gray lines. + Pick out what you are going to serve for dinner. Choose 9 items total (utensils and napkins can each count as separate items). Write each item you are serving next to the hearts on the “KEY” page. This will make it easy to put together each person’s course throughout your meal. + Extra Tip: Use a disposable tablecloth. It doubles as decoration and makes it really simple to clean up from your meal. You’ll be extra grateful if you choose a messier meal and your kiddo doesn’t get a fork with that course.
