  • Sydney Shield Side Finished Another Successful Season Losing to Windsor Wolves in a Tough Semi-Final Match
Belrose Rugby League Football Club Annual Report 2015 BELROSE RUGBY LEAGUE 2015 ANNUAL REPORT belroseeagles.com 1 Belrose Rugby League Football Club Annual Report 2015 PRESIDENT ’S REPORT The 2015 season must surely go down as one of the disrupted starts to a season, rain, school holidays and ANZAC meant the season didn’t get going until May. Like most of the local clubs playing numbers were down this year however we were still able to field teams in all divisions with the exception of 16’s and while Grand Final success alluded us this year there were a number of notable highlights. A-Grade made their way through to the A2 Grand Final and were beaten in a nail biter by a last minute penalty goal from in front of the posts. Well done to Scott Hanley and the boys. Our Sydney Shield side finished another successful season losing to Windsor Wolves in a tough semi-final match. This is three out of three semi-final appearances for this side, not bad for a local footy club up against league heavy weights Wentworthville and Cabramatta who are all supported by licensed leagues clubs. Our Under 19s were desperately unlucky going down to Avalon in their Grand Final, This was an achievement in itself after the Mark Soden coached side didn’t have a side two weeks into the competition. It was great to see a few local boys return to the red and gold after a couple of years away. In the juniors one team made it through to the Grand Final with the Mark Tam coached U12’s who also struggled for numbers all year fighting their way through to the big game.
