2013 Conference USA Swimming & Diving Championships CRWC NATATORIUM

The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program enjoys one of the nation's finest facilities at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center Nata• torium. Opened in the spring of 2003, the Natatorium played host to the Cougars' first dual meet against North Texas on Oct. 11, 2003. In only a short time, L_j ---LJ,__a ------the facility has been host to several prestigious · .. -r:;. . . . - - ~~,. events, including the Conference USA Champion• ships from 2004 to 2013, 2004, 2008 & 2013 NCAA Zone D Diving Meet, and the 2007 NCAA Division Ill Men's and Women's Championships. The 2012-13 season will be no different with the 2013 C-USA Championship meet returning to the CRWC Natatorium. The facility covers more than 264,000 square feet with the natatorium being only a small part of the building. At 70 meters by 25 yards, the new pool ranks among the longest in the state ofTexas. It holds more than 1.3 million gallons of water, shallowing out to 4 feet and increasing to 17 feet at the deep end. Three bulkheads allow the pool to be shaped into different configurations as needed. Cougar divers also are well taken care of in the facility. The natatorium features a divers'whirlpool in which competitors can stay warm be• tween dives during meets. In addition to two 1-meter and two 3-meter springboards, the facility features five platform diving boards at 1-, 3-, 5-, 7.5, and 10-meter heights. However, the overall facility features 24,000 square feet of weight equipment, four-lane indoor jogging track, a 53-foot indoor climbing wall and six multi-purpose aerobic rooms. The facility is open to all UH students.
