Indian Railways is heralding a new era working for a turnaround in the system. To cater to the diverse rail needs of the burgeoning populace, an array of modern facilities and services are being inducted into the system progressively. Railways has achieved many significant milestones in the past 7 years. 3529 Route Kilometrage of Southern Railway network, accounting for about 70%, has been electrified till March 2021. Piloting with a passenger-centric vision, Southern Railway operated over 1303 Trains per day and transported over 800 million passengers annually in the pre-pandemic times. During the unprecedented nation-wide lockdown in 2020, Southern Railway, with its well formulated strategies to combat COVID-19, geared up to operate 507 Shramik Specials for the benefit of interstate workers and stranded persons. Besides, the zone has also been running special trains, workmen specials apart from special freight and Parcel services since last year. The dedicated team of railway officials are working relentlessly, focussing on developing infrastructure, enhancing capacity, operating passenger-friendly train services and ensuring safety, security and cleanliness. This booklet is aimed at listing out some of the important accomplishments in recent past and current projects in the constituency.  Improvements to circulating area at Virudhunagar station at a cost of ` 89 lakh

 Provision of LED coach indication board at Virudhunagar station at a cost of ` 14 lakh

 Provision of LED coach indication board at Satur station at a cost of ` 14 lakh

 Raising of Platform at Sivaksi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar and Satur stations at a cost of ` 2.2 crore

 Provision of PF shelters at Rajapalayam, Satur and Sivakasi stations at a cost of ` 1.17 crore

 An amount of ` 20 lakhs spent for the improvement of circulating area at Tiruparankundram and Tirumangalam railway stations.

 2nos. of LED 90W, one no. of LED 100W provided in place of 150W MH at VPT PF-I&II.

 2 units of toilets constructed at Satur, Rajapalayam and Tirutangal railway stations at an approximate cost of ` 28 lakhs

 An amount of ` 5.5 lakhs spent for Stainless steel benches in Sivakasi (10 seater 10 nos), Virudhnagar (10 seater 15 nos) & Satur ( 10seater 5 nos) stations

 Video Surveillance system provided at Viruthunagar station under Nirbhaya fund

 Provision of LED based GPS clock 3 nos provided at Sattur ,Tulukkapatti and Aruppukottai stations at cost of ` 2.5 Lakh

 Free WiFi Provided at Thirupprankundram, Thirumangalam, Kallikudi, Viruthunagar, Tulukkapatti, Sattur, Aruppukottai stations

 An amount of ` 13 Lakhs spent for Provision of AC, Lighting and power supply arrangements for video surveillance system at Virudunagar, Rajapalayam, Satur stations Virudhunagar Railway Station
