Edinburgh’s Great War Roll of Honour Colinton District Great War Roll of Honour: Restricted [Covering Colinton, Longstone & Slateford] This portion of the Edinburgh Great War Roll of Honour is part of a much larger work that will be published over a period of time. It should also be noted that this particular roll is also a restricted one of Great War casualties giving basic details of each casualty: Name, Rank, Battalion/Ship/Squadron, Regiment/Service, Number. Special awards. Cause and date of death. Age. Place commemorated or buried. Birthplace. District of Edinburgh’s Great War Roll of Honour name is recorded in. The reason this roll is presently restricted is that we would like to invite and give the greater community the opportunity to fill out the story of each casualty, even helping identify casualties that appear on local memorials that cannot be clearly identified or have some details missing. These latter casualties appear in red with some having question marks in the area that needs to be clarified. It is also worth noting at this point that the names of some casualties appear on more than one district. The larger Roll of Honour [RoH] will also include information about those who served and survived and again the hope is that the wider community will come forward and share the story of their ancestors’ who served in the Great War, whether a casualty or survivor. The larger RoH will contain information such as: Name. Rank, Battalion/Ship/Squadron, Regiment/Service. Born when and where? Parent’s names and address.

Edinburgh, Gorgie Branch Review Our branch at Edinburgh, Gorgie is closing on 18 March 2021. What you need to know We’ve looked carefully at our Edinburgh, Gorgie branch at 176 Gorgie Road, Edinburgh, EH11 2NT and how it is used, and we’ve taken the decision to close it. The way customers bank with us is rapidly evolving with the vast majority of everyday transactions now being done digitally. Over 2.1 million of our customers now choose to bank online, and over 1.3 million use our Mobile Banking App. Even prior to COVID-19 customers were choosing other ways to bank with us, with 50% using services at our cash machines, and 20% using a Post Office®. Over 190,000 customers have been supported through our new online chat service, helping them with queries and other services. 67% of all our customers are now using mobile, online or telephone banking, and at this branch 90% of our personal and 90% of our business customers, now choose to use another branch or channel instead. We need to make sure our branches meet the current and future needs of our customers, and TSB remains committed to face to face services in branch through a network that covers the whole country. In the City of Edinburgh we will still have 3 branches serving 110,542 customers. This Branch Review explains how we can support you through the changes and the alternative services you can use. What does this change mean for you There are a number of other branches you can visit, including Edinburgh, Hanover Street below, which is 2.2 miles away from the closing branch.

Transport and Environment Committee 10.00am, Thursday, 7 December 2017 Slateford Road/Shandon Place Junction – Traffic Signal Priorities Item number 7.1 Report number Executive/routine Executive Wards 9 - Fountainbridge/Craiglockhart Council Commitments CC18, CC19 Executive Summary A petition was considered by the Transport and Environment Committee on 10 August 2017. The petition requested that the traffic signal priorities are reviewed at the junction of Slateford Road and Shandon Place. This report responds to the Committee request with: • the results of the group site visit; • a breakdown of collision history; and • potential options to reduce driver confusion at the junction. A preferred option has been identified which entails altering junction staging, simplifying signal heads and having an all stop pedestrian stage to reduce driver confusion. The viability of this option will be subject to detailed design. Report Slateford Road/Shandon Place Junction – Traffic Signal Priorities 1. Recommendations 1.1 It is recommended that the Transport and Environment Committee: 1.1.1 notes that the review of the site at Slateford Road/Shandon Place junction has been undertaken to observe traffic compliance with signals; 1.1.2 notes that the junction is not a priority for full refurbishment at present, according to the City of Edinburgh Council (the ‘Council’) agreed maintenance criteria; and 1.1.3 agrees that Option 3 (altering junction staging, simplifying signal heads and having an all stop pedestrian stage) should be progressed, subject to the successful outcome of detailed design. 2. Background 2.1 On 10 August 2017, the Transport and Environment Committee considered a petition of 150 signatories - "Redesign the traffic light priorities at Junction of Slateford Road and Shandon Place".
