Since the last edition of the magazine the whole school has benefitted from the purchase of interactive smart boards in every classroom. The smart boards mean that all pupils are able to engage in their learning using interactive software and programs to support mathematic skills. The touch sensitive whiteboards mean that pupils can activate sounds, move and match objects in any area of mathematics. Maths club has continued to be very popular and is well attended. It has been another busy year in the music department with music continuing to feature in all areas of the curriculum, school celebrations and festivals. This year the pupils and staff experienced yet another varied and enjoyable music week with visiting artists ranging from a samba band to a harpist. We look forward to this year’s challenges of developing the pupil’s art work by holding another art week where we hope to take art outside, and encourage the pupils to use a wide variety of natural materials. We will also look at developing our resource base with a variety of materials which will stimulate the pupil’s senses through different textures and colours.
