Kelvin Holdsworth Provost of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral The Very Rev Kelvin Holdsworth grew up in Bearsden and in West Yorkshire. Following his first degree in Mathematics and Computing Science, he studied Divinity at the University of St Andrews & the University of Edinburgh. During his studies, he joined the Scottish Episcopal Church, having been brought up in the Salvation Army. Since being ordained 10 years ago, he has worked in Perth, Bridge of Allan, the University of Stirling and the West End of Glasgow. A candidate at the last General Election, he is an activist for progressive causes in the church and the world, including the current struggle for gay rights and rites. On his appointment as Provost of St Mary's Cathedral in Glasgow in 2006 whilst still in his thirties, he became the youngest person to lead an Anglican Cathedral congregation in the British Isles.
