Fellow Lions of District N2, I would like to start the year by giving you my Mission Statement: To encourage Lions to “Be The Change” within themselves and their clubs so that we are able to do more, be more and serve more in our communities. I am extremely fortunate to have such a great team of Lions working with me this year. We are all hear to serve you. We are looking forward to working with our fellow Lions throughout the District and providing even more service within our communities.

I am asking Lions to communicate often with your fellow Lions. Inform them of changes. Keep every single Lion in the loop because change is uncomfortable for people who don’t know what’s going on. Call meetings, send out memos and maintain a general openness with your members. I’m asking that you set goals with your team. Promote productivity and establish within your fellow Lions an interest in the organization’s future by meeting with them, setting SMART goals and brainstorming ways to achieve those goals.

Call your fellow Lions to action. Encourage them to join in on the change so they can continue to be a strong part of the diverse future in Lions. Avoid scaring them but estab- lish a sense of urgency. We need to keep our Lions family in the fold.

Understand what is expected of you, whether you are a member or a team leader, make others aware of your expectations. Learn something new about your fellow Lion. What motivates them? What do THEY want to change. Help them Be The Change.

Lions, I am here to serve you. I look forward to seeing and hearing all the great things you are doing throughout the District.

DG Debbie McGinley
