The World Archery Management Seminar 2011 was delivered in collaboration with the Education Partner, SINERGI Sports Consulting ( www.sinergi.ch ) and was funded by the International Foundation for the Development of Archery (FIDTA). Anti-Doping Administration World Archery is happy to announce that they have decided to outsource their anti-doping administration to SportAccord as of 1 January 2012. Whereas World Archery remains fully responsible for every aspect of the anti-doping programme, the staff of SportAccord’s Doping-Free Sport Unit (DFSU) will handle the administrative aspects on behalf of World Archery and work in close cooperation with World Archery to do so. Therefore, World Archery kindly requests their Member Associations to take note of these changes and only use the contact details below to communicate with World Archery on anti-doping matters: For organisations with testing programmes, to liaise with sample collection agencies for in- competition testing at World Archery competitions in their country and to ensure the Doping Control Forms (DCFs) related to any such tests are forwarded to the correct address For national federations having athletes in the World Archery Registered Testing Pool (RTP), to ensure that they submit their whereabouts in ADAMS and that the relevant Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) are submitted. The "father" of the FITA Rule Book for a long time received the title of Honorary Chairman of the Constitution and Rules Committee. As Klaus SCHULZ was not present in Turin to receive the award from World Archery, the German Shooting Federation (DSB) chose the closing festivities of the 150th anniversary of their foundation in 1861 to hand over the award to him. He was received on Friday night, 18 November with a reception and a solemn ceremony in Coburg at the castle of their protector the Duke of Sachsen Coburg and Gotha in front of selected guests. As the last point of the ceremony Josef AMBACHER, President of the German Shooting and Archery Federation, explained to the audience why World Archery had conferred this distinction on Klaus SCHULZ and handed over the award to him under general applause. November 2011 World Archery Newsletter Page 4 "I feel very honoured by the award conferred on me by the Torino Congress. I was completely surprised by this recognition and felt deeply touched. Now I am grateful and proud of the fact that World Archery appreciates my contribution to archery so highly. Working for FITA, for World Archery has enriched my life", Klaus SCHULZ said. Future Events World Cup 2012 Stage 3 Easton Sports Development Foundation will host the Archery World Cup 2012 Stage 3 at a new venue, the Golden Spike Event Center in Ogden, Utah. The World Cup event and Final Olympic Qualifier for Teams and Individual is scheduled on 17-23 June. Prior to hosting the event at the Golden Spike Event Center, the competition was held at Weber State University (WSU). This year Promontory Towers at WSU are scheduled for demolition. The Easton Foundations believe they carry a responsibility to provide the athletes with a competition venue that is free of all possible distractions during this important event. It may not be possible at Weber State University with an ongoing construction project across the street from the competition field, so a new location has been decided upon. "This decision has been a difficult, since the Foundation has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Weber State University. We feel the location change is in the best interest of the athletes who are attending. Many of the athletes will not only compete in the third leg of the World Cup in Ogden, but will also compete in the Last Chance Olympic Qualifier, where those teams that have not secured a spot in the 2012 Olympics in London will have their final opportunity to do so," said Robert ROMERO, Local Organising Committee President. "The Easton Foundation would like to thank the Weber State staff for their efforts in making previous Archery World Cup events so successful." Asian Games 2014 World Archery has been informed by the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) that a compound event will be included in the competition programme together with recurve.
