The student will know the characteristics of the different sectors in the hospitality industry and be able to identify career opportunities. Organization, segments, size, operations and management of the hospitality industry will be clear to the student and the students will be able to apply this knowledge for analyzing real life situations. Course Type Seminar Hours 4 weekly hours (45min each) in a 15 week semester Remuneration €120 per unit (€7200 in total) before tax Required Qualifications: Master or diploma degree in the field of social and/or business sciences, psychology, statistics, informatics from an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Excellent written and spoken English (German is not a requirement as English is the working lan- guage; Candidates with native-fluent command of English are particularly encouraged to apply). A proven track record of teaching this or similar subjects at an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Marquette University, [email protected] Preface While doing research in Vienna for my dissertation on relations between Church and State in Austria between the wars I became intrigued by the outward appearance of the public housing projects put up by Red Vienna at the same time. They seemed to have a martial cast to them not at all restricted to the famous Karl-Marx-Hof so, against advice that I would find nothing, I decided to see what could be found in the archives of the Stadtbauamt to tie the architecture of the program to the civil war of 1934 when the structures became the principal focus of conflict. I found no direct tie anywhere in the documents but uncovered some circumstantial evidence that might be explored in the future. One reason for publishing these notes is to save researchers from the same dead end I ran into. This is not to say no evidence was ever present because there are many missing documents in the sequence which might turn up in the future—there is more than one complaint to be found about staff members taking documents and not returning them—and the socialists who controlled the records had an interest in denying any connection both before and after the civil war. Certain kinds of records are simply not there including assessments of personnel which are in the files of the Magistratsdirektion not accessible to the public and minutes of most meetings within the various Magistrats Abteilungen connected with the program.

WEINKULTUR STADTBILDWIEN WEINKULTUR STADTBILD WIEN WEINBAU IN WIEN Als einzige Großstadt der Welt verfügt Wien über ökonomisch bedeutenden Weinbau innerhalb der Stadtgrenzen. Der Weinbau trägt wesentlich zur kulturellen Identität Wiens bei und ist ein wichtiger Wirtschaftsfaktor. Die alten Weinorte prägen darüber hinaus auch das unverwechselbare Landschaftsbild dieser Stadt. In dieser Broschüre stehen die stadtplanerischen Aspekte des Wiener Weinbaus im Zentrum. Der Folder bietet einen Überblick darüber, mit welchen Instrumenten die wertvollen Weinbaugebiete gesichert werden können und welchen Spielraum bzw. welche Möglichkeiten die Stadtplanung dabei hat. Der Weinbau reicht zurück in die Zeit der Illyrer und Kelten, doch erst die Römer führten professionelle Methoden des Anbaues und der Kelterung ein. Da Wien im Einflussbereich des pannonischen Klimas liegt, sind die Bedingungen für den Weinbau ideal. Denn der Weinbau ist nur in jenen Gebieten möglich, in denen die mittlere Jahrestemperatur zwischen +9 und +21 Grad liegt. Ein zeitiges Frühjahr, ein warmer, trockener Sommer und ein milder, trockener Herbst sind nötig. Bei Frühjahrs- und Herbstfrösten ist Weinbau unrentabel, selbst wenn der Sommer warm ist. Die Vegetationsdauer der Weinkulturen liegt zwischen 180 und 200 Tagen. Die Weinbaufläche Wiens beträgt insgesamt ca. 700 ha, wobei etwa 80 % Weißwein- und 20 % Rotweinsorten angepflanzt sind. Hast du vom Kahlenberg das Land dir rings besehen, Diese Fläche wird von rund 400 Weinbaubetrieben bewirtschaftet. so wirst du, was ich schrieb, und was ich bin, verstehen. Davon erzeugen auch Hobbyweingärtner Wein für den Eigenbedarf. Franz Grillparzer Die Weinernte beläuft sich jährlich auf ca. 20.000 Hektoliter. Die Vermarktung des Weines erfolgt überwiegend in Heurigenbe- trieben (Buschenschankbetrieben) der Winzer, wobei jedoch in den letzten Jahren der Flaschenweinverkauf zugenommen hat.

It was started in 2017 and is planned to run over decades. Such long-term monitorings are needed to quantify possible efects of climate change or to develop tick density forecast models. The monthly questing tick density at three sites has been observed by using a standardized sampling method by dragging an area 2 of 100 m at each occasion. Popular recreational areas were chosen as study sites. These are the Prater public park, the wooded Kahlenberg, and a wildlife garden in Klosterneuburg. First results show a 3-year time series of nymphs and adults of the Ixodes ricinus spe- cies complex and Haemaphysalis concinna for the period 2017–2019. Whereas questing nymphs of the I. ricinus species complex were collected from February to November, H. concinna nymphs were only dragged from May to October. The peak of nymphal activity of the I. ricinus species complex was in May, that of H. concinna in August. In addition, a brief overview is given about ticks and tick-borne pathogens occurring in urban and subur- ban areas of Vienna.

This 1,350 square kilometer UNESCO biosphere reserve provides a unique habitat for countless plant and animal species. When taking a stroll in the Lainz Game Reserve you shouldn‘t be surprised if a wild boar crosses your path.
