ABOUT THE ARTISTS Paul Moore (Hippolytos) is a June graduate, MFA/Acting, UCLA. Currently: Antony & Cleopatra, Theatricum Botanicum, LA. Previously: Shakespeare Festival, Berkley; White Room, NYC. Favorite roles: Alan, Equus; Bobby, American Buffalo; Guilio, I Gelosi, written/directed by David Bridel. Master Thesis: The Fourth Sword of Marxism, based on experiences in Peru and research involving Abimael Guzman and the Shining Path revolution. Linda Purl (Phaedra), raised in Japan, is the only foreigner to have trained at Toho Geino Academy. Stage credits include Broadway: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Getting and Spending. Off-Broadway: The Baby Dance, Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Over 30 plays in regional theaters such as: Actors Theatre Louisville, Old Globe, Long Wharf, Williamstown Theatre Festival (six seasons), Mark Taper Forum, Imperial (Tokyo), Berkeley Repertory. She’s been privileged to work on stage with Julie Harris, Kim Hunter, Michael York, Betty Buckley. Linda starred in five TV series, notably Happy Days, Matlock, First Monday co-staring James Garner. Over 30 television movies: Last Days of Pompeii with Sir Lawrence Olivier among favorites. Features include: Disney’s Mighty Joe Young, The Walking Major with Toshiro Mifune. Recipient of numerous acting and producing awards, she has performed in concert in Tokyo, L.A., New York, and points in between. Linda is Founder, Executive Director/Artistic Associate to CFWT. Fran Bennett (Nurse) Theater: 12 Seasons with the Guthrie Theater as actress and voice and movement director. Performances: Pantagleize, The Crucible, The White Devil, The National Health, Oedipus, House of Atreus, directed by Sir Tyrone Guthrie; -more- Page 2 Guthrie’s assistant director for House of Atreus’ chorus work; Michael Langham’s assistant director for Oedipus; Helen of Troy, opposite Mark Lamos in the title role of Dr. Faustus; Franz Xavier Kroetz’s solo piece Request Concert at the Guthrie’s Other Place Theater. Other theater: Cherry Orchard, Reckless, Happy End, Jar the Floor (Drama-Logue Award), The Things You Don’t Know (Drama-Logue Award) at South Coast Repertory; member of Antaeus and Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company, with whom she played the title role in Othello; Margaret in Richard III; the Duke in Measure for Measure; Theseus/Oberon in A Midsummer’s Night Dream; Madame Chastity Plum in Chen Shi-zheng’s production of Peach Blossom Fan at REDCAT. Morlan Higgins (Theseus) LA Credits: Athol Fugard's Exits and Entrances (World Premier), After the Fall, Dylan, Equus, Boys in the Band, Dealing with Clair (American Premier), Mad Forest, Water Children, The Birthday Party, Mary Barnes, Borderlines, and many others. Regional: Cavalcaders (American Premier), Hughie, Death of a Salesman. Awards: Ovation (2), LADCC (4), LA Weekly (4), Garland (4), Drama- Logue (5), New Jersey Tony, Florida Carbonell Nomination, and many others. Recently surpassed the 200-performance mark of Exits and Entrances in a production at New Jersey Repertory. David O (Composer and Musical Director) is an award-winning composer and musical director. His work has been featured at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Mark Taper Forum, and the Hollywood Bowl, as well as other venues in Los Angeles and around the U.S. His original musicals include The Very Persistent Gappers of Frip, The Legend of Alex, and Atalanta. Musical direction credits include The Wild Party and The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World. Los Angeles children and their parents know David as “the Professor” for his performances in Summersounds at the Hollywood Bowl. -more- Page 3 Tamica Washington (Choreographer) has worked as a dancer and choreographer for film and television, including Moesha and The Parkers; most recently, she assisted Donal Bryd with the movie Something New, starring Sanaa Lathan. In addition to her work as the associate director with the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Tamica has been teaching and creating works for young dancers across the nation. She has taught at the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference for several years, at the Bates Youth Dance Festival, Summer-Dance in Santa Barbara, the Xaivier College Summer Dance Program, and the Black College Dance Exchange. Recently, Tamica worked with Donald McKayle in creating original choreography for the new musical, Return. She has studied with her mom, Lula Washington, with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Donald McKayle, Otis Sallid, Ronald Brown, Rudy Perez, Stephen Wenta, American Dance Festival, and others. .
