Videos are a very powerful way of reaching any given target audience, whether to sell your product and services or train your staff. New Chamber Members Liquid Productions not only create great looking films, but they create films that deliver the mes- sage that you need to deliver. Always to the right audience. Based in Leatherhead, Oliver Hall started Liquid Productions in 2004 as a way of paying for university. HUNDREDS CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN IN LEATHERHEAD!

Leatherhead was taken over by kids in scary fancy dress, creepy crawlies and stilt-walking devils on 31 October, when the town once again hosted an afternoon of Halloween-themed fun and games for all the family.

Animazing‟s real life snakes, spiders and cockroaches fascinated children of all ages; stilt walking devils towered above the crowds and whizzers, strange sprite-like characters, glided through the streets. The steam train rides through the shopping centre were a huge hit with the hundreds of revellers.

There was also fun and games, including a treasure hunt, skull hoopla , find the magic stone in the body parts and a „guess the name of the tarantula‟ competition. Students from performed a range of Halloween Hits, including The Monster Mash and the Harry Potter theme tune, while local dance group Poptastic performed a variation on Michael Jackson‟s Thriller. There was a fancy dress competition in the Swan Centre and 6 year old Grace Picken dressed as a bride won first prize.

The town management work tirelessly throughout the year to bring extra shoppers into the centre and together with the annual St Georges Day and Christmas Festival, the Halloween event was no exception. The Leatherhead & District Chamber of Com- merce continue to support these events, as they always prove to be hugely beneficial to the retailers and businesses alike.

MV ANNOUNCED AS HOSTS FOR OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY ROUTE

Newly re-furbished Leatherhead Leisure Centre hosted an event last week for a very official announcement: the Olympic Flame is coming to Mole Val- ley on 20 July 2012 as it makes its 8,000 mile journey around the UK!

Hosted by the Leader of the Council James Friend, guest of honour was Olympic ath- lete Tim Brabants MBE, who learnt to swim at the centre and who brought with him his own gold medal from the 2008 Beijing Games.

Other special guests included Mark and Sarah Henton, children of Ted Henton who was a Torchbearer for the 1948 Games. They also brought with them the actual 1948 torch that he carried, which was a source of great interest to the children from Oakfield Jun- ior School, who joined in with the celebration. A display of 1948 images and information was also kindly supplied by Erica Chambers from the Museum and Heritage Centre.

Councillor James Friend said “Hosting the Torch Relay is a great honour for . It provides an opportunity for our residents to see the Olympic Flame first hand and to witness the spectacle of the Olympic Torch Relay. The attention that will come with the Torch gives our local residents, communities and businesses the chance to show Mole Valley at its very best to the rest of the country and to the world. It is our moment to shine. Coinciding with the last day of school term for many, I particularly hope that as many children as possible will take the opportunity to share in the celebration and ex- citement together as we count down to the start of the London 2012 Games.”
