The California softball team hosts a variety of performance camps for various age groups and skill levels in the winter and summer at Levine-Fricke Field.

Cal’s Winter and Summer Showcase camps are designed for players who are looking to develop their skills for competitive softball. The showcase is ideal for athletes focused on playing the game at the highest levels. Hitting, fi elding, throwing, pitching, base running, and all other aspects of the game will be featured at the Showcase.

The Skills Camp is programmed for beginning and intermediate players who are looking to develop their essential knowledge and skills for competitive softball. All aspects of the game, including hitting, fi elding, throwing, and base running will be featured at the Skills Camp.

GOLDEN BEARS ON THE WORLD STAGE ince softball’s inception as an Olympic sport in 1996, a Golden Bear player Sor coach has participated in each Olympiad. Vicky Galindo was the latest Cal graduate to have participated in the Games, playing in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and earning a silver medal. Michele Granger (USA), Gillian Boxx (USA) and Lisa Martinez (Puerto Rico) appeared in the 1996 Summer Olympics held in . In addition, former Cal assistant coach Kim Maher, a standout at Fresno State, played for the United States as well that summer. In the 2000 Olympiad, Nicole DiSalvio was the pitcher for Team Italy. In the 2004 Olympics in Athens, head coach Diane Ninemire, along with Lindsay James and Chloe Kloezeman, suited up for the inaugural Greek national team, while DiSalvio returned for a second stint with Italian national team. Cal players Nicole DiSalvio have also competed for various national Vicki Galindo teams during non-Olympic years.
