Rotary Club of Houma First Club of Rotary Houma Katie Portier - Rotarian of the Day Katie Portier is Marketing Director for Synergy Bank. She joined our club in 2018 at the invitation of Billy Foster. Katie's hobbie include working with her husband to renovate their fixer-upper home, volunteering with Junior Auxiliary of Houma, and being outside with their boys, enjoying that newborn life! Katie has been married to her husband Lane for 9 years. They have two children: Ezra, 7 years old, and River, 6 months old. Katie enjoys being active in our community. Mike Detillier -- Guest Speaker Mike Detillier is an award winning journalist, talk show host, and sports analyst that has covered the college and pro football scene for over 30 years. Mike started working on WWL-870 AM with legendary sports journalists Hap Glaudi and Buddy Diliberto and now works with former New Orleans Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert on the Second Guess Show each Monday Night from the Silver Slipper Casino in Mississippi, along with the pregame show for New Orleans Saints Radio Network. Mike D. has been the college and pro football analyst for WWL-870 Radio in New Orleans for over 30 years and he has been the editor and publisher of the Mike Detillier NFL Draft Report for 34 years. His Draft Report breaks down the top talent in the college football ranks entering the NFL and also the top players in the National Football League. Detillier also works for ESPN Radio covering the Southeast Conference and NFL and does pregame coverage for WWL-Radio, the LSU Radio Sports Network, the New Orleans Saints Radio Network and the Tennessee Titans Radio/TV Network, along with postgame coverage for WWL-Channel 4 TV for LSU and the New Orleans Saints. Detillier is a contributing writer for Sports Illustrated Magazine and the Saints News Network. Mike D. also is the Sunday lead columnist for the Houma Today newspaper and for SaintsReport.com. The setting for 2021 Camp RYLA will be Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego, LA. The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) provides outstanding student leaders an opportunity to hone their leadership and teamwork skills. The four-day program is staffed and operated by volunteer Rotarians from District 6200. Incoming and outgoing 11th graders, graduating seniors, both males and females are eligible to apply. RYLA is one of the few Rotary sponsored events that children, grandchildren and family members of Rotarians can attend. Deadline for submission of completed applications is Wednesday, May 5.
