Introduction I just feel so like expanding here— My first memory is of the brightness of light— way out to the horizon— light all around. and up into the sunshine— and out into the night. I. Canyon expecting to disappear Tonight I walked into the sunset. at any moment. e whole sky—was just blazing— and grey blue clouds were riding It was a really beautiful aernoon— all through the holiness of it— e simple Pueblo village— and the whole thing lit up all of mud— with flashes of lightning. and the dancing—everyone in colors of such rich saturated pigment— I walked out past the last house— the brilliant sun and blue sky. past the locust tree— and sat on a fence for a long time— It went on and on— looking— the brilliancy of color—the live eyes— you see there was nothing it is terribly exciting—and at the same time but sky and flat prairie land— quieting like the ocean. land that seems more like ocean than anything else I know. I want to wear a sheet and ride like the Indian men It is absurd the way I love this country. that came tearing through the Pueblo gate in a body—all riding like mad. And the SKY—Anita you have never seen SKY—

It is wonderful.
