    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MARCH 27, 2021 COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS ANNOUNCE ROSTER MOVES COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have added goaltender Cam Johnson to the roster from the club’s taxi squad on emergency conditions, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Goaltender Joonas Korpisalo is unavailable due to a lower body injury and is considered day-to-day. In addition, goaltender Daniil Tarasov has been assigned to the Cleveland Monsters, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, from Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League. Johnson, 26, has gone 11-16-5 with a 3.80 goals-against average, .873 save percentage and one shutout in 32 career AHL games with the Binghamton Devils and 23-11-2 with a 2.28 GAA, .926 SV% and five shutouts in 38 career ECHL contests since 2018. He signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with Columbus on Jan. 9, 2021 and has posted a 6-1-0 record with a 1.77 GAA, .941 SV% and two SO in seven games with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades this season. The Troy, Michigan native played four seasons at the University of North Dakota from 2014-18, compiling a 56-26-12 record, 2.10 GAA, .914 SV% and 12 shutouts in 102 career outings. Tarasov, 22, went 11-4-3 with a 2.13 GAA, .924 SV% and two shutouts in 18 career games with Ufa in the KHL from 2018-21, including a 11-3-2 record with a 2.07 GAA, .925 SV% and two shutouts in 16 games with the club this season.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MAY 4, 2019 COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS SIGN GOALTENDER DANIIL TARASOV TO THREE-YEAR ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed goaltender Daniil Tarasov to a three-year entry level contract beginning in the 2019-20 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Tarasov was selected by the club in the third round, 86th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft. Tarasov, 20, spent the 2018-19 season in Russia with Toros Neftekamsk (VHL) and Salavat Yulaev Ufa (KHL). He made his Kontinental Hockey League debut, sporting a 2.86 goals-against average (GAA) and .917 save percentage (SV%) in two games. In 25 regular season outings in the VHL, he compiled a 17-6 record with a 1.71 GAA, .928 SV% and two shutouts. He finished sixth in the league in GAA (20 or more GP). He went 9-8 with a 1.87 GAA and .930 SV% in 17 VHL playoff games. He also went 2-0-0-0 with a 2.80 GAA and .893 SV% in three games for Russia at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championships, helping the squad capture a bronze medal. A native of Novokuznetsk, Russia, Tarasov spent the 2017-18 campaign with the MHL’s Tolpar Ufa, finishing fifth in the league in GAA and shutouts (tied) and seventh-T in SV% with a 24-10 record, 1.85 GAA, .928 SV% and six shutouts in 40 outings. He missed the 2016-17 campaign due to injury. In 2015-16, he played for Tolpar Ufa (MHL) and Salavat Yulaev Ufa (Russsia U17) and was named one of Russia’s top three players at the IIHF World Under-18 Championships after posting a 2.11 GAA and .921 SV% in five contests.

The Appellant has been a player registered for ice hockey clubs participating in the Kontinental Hockey League (the “KHL”), an international league created to further the development of hockey throughout Russia and other nations across Europe and Asia. 2. The International Ice Hockey Federation (“IIHF” or the “Respondent”) is the governing body of international ice hockey and inline hockey. As such, IIHF has inter alia the responsibility to pursue all potential anti-doping rule violations within its jurisdiction according to the IIHF Disciplinary Code (the “DC”), adopted to implement IIHF’s responsibilities under the World Anti-Doping Code. The IIHF has its seat in Zurich, Switzerland. B. The Dispute between the Parties 3. On 29 January 2017, the Player underwent an in-competition anti-doping control after participating in the KHL match (the “Match”) between Metallurg Magnitogorsk (his club of the time) and CSKA. 4. On 3 March 2017, the IIHF notified the Player that the analysis of the A-sample collected at the Match had been reported to be positive for the presence of Hydrochlorothiazide and Pseudoephedrine, two prohibited substances according to the List of prohibited substances and methods established by the World Anti-Doping Agency for 2017.
