You could not ask for a better day to cruise to Virginia International Raceway for the 2013 SVT Superfest. It started off at 7:00am with temps in the mid 40’s. We met at the Wawa on Hull Street Road. Well at least I thought I was meeting some CVMC members there. Short story no one else showed up so off to VIR I go. Again this year CVMC has had the honor of escorting True American Hero’s in the National Memorial Day Parade. CVMC had eight Mustangs in the parade and we were joined by two members of the National Capital Region Mustang Club.

There was a great crowd for the parade and we were honored to be part of an event to honor our Military Veterans and those who gave their all for our country. Article & Photos by Tony Hall

Kathy McWilliams had the honor to escort Archie Elam who was the

Honorary Marshall for Desert Storm. The rest of us had the honor of escorting veterans of the 101st Airborne the “Screaming Eagles”.

Page 3 and some other competing activities that same weekend, the event successfully raised $708 for LLS. That, together with a $300 CVMC donation in honor of Larry Noble to be presented to Susan Reid of LLS during our June meeting, brings the grand total to $1008 raised as a result of the effort. COME ON AND GO ON A CRUISE OR A CRUISE IN. Your Cruise committee tries to schedule a monthly event in the months of April thru December. We know everyone can't go to all of the events for various reasons. That is why we try to have at least one per

month so everyone can get to one or more. For those of you that have been on previous events, I believe we have had a lot of fun. Come out and meet fellow club members and their families. Meet members of other car clubs. Get valuable information about Ford Mustangs and other Ford models .Our charity Cruise-In to McGuire Veterans Hospital last fall was a wonderful event. To see the smiles on

Page 5 the veterans faces looking at the cars was priceless. There is a lot of volunteer time and hours that go into planning and coordinating these events. So bring the family out to a Cruise- In picnic or any of these fun filled events. If you have an event you would like to suggest, let your Cruise Committee know your thoughts on it . We will try to make it happen if at all possible.
